Well said, how many people need this cheap abundent magical natural helpful happy plant! Hemp has no natural enemies! Only a few men stand in it`s way! We must recognise the real reason why, this wonderful giving plant has been denied it`s multi positive use!
@Manerus Hi. You should search for the Industrial Hemp convention held in 2010. There are lots of papers and videos of the conference speakers. Farmers from canadian, Dutch and french hemp farmers pertaining to cannabis varietal selection for Hemp's agricultural commodities (Best seed production? Skunk #1) . I am also a member of the Industrial Hemp group (on Linkedln network) it is free to join .
@omega4chimp technically yes, but the kind you smoke are only the female plants.. for industrial production into clothing you can also use the non THC potent male plants.
Also THC comes only in the right conditions such as heat, growing it in cold climates still produces a fine strong plant with plenty of fibers for industrial use, but no 'buds' or 'flowers' for the purpose of getting 'high'.
You Tube has since increased the time to 15 minutes so I uploaded the entire 13 min & some secs as it was originally if anyone wants to see it that way.
I wish I could post this on the Naval History and Heritage site, as it certainly is connected to Naval heritage as well as everyone's! For anyone interested, please look up Willie Nelson's testimonies!
This movie, which was made in World War II, was an educational appeal, in a sense, to those who had forgotten the favorite crop of our founding fathers.

@dilpickledude simply because they only allow you to grow the crappy kind that has low THC% because its illegal
proper hemp should have large amounts of THC because its what protects the plant from the sun :]
so uh at the moment we dont smoke hemp because of stupid bigots but you go on with your badass self you obviously have a plethora of knowledge jackass ;3
@HinduxSkunk "Proper hemp should have large amounts of THC because it's what protects the plant from the sun." Does the low THC hemp sizzle up on hot days? How do other plants without THC survive? If you're going to put stuff on the net at least have an understanding of what's what. Cannabis is one of the most diverse plants on the planet and it comes in all sorts of varieties. Some without very much THC. It's still proper hemp though.
the THC is what helps it withstand high temps and intense sunlight.
no shit other plants dont just sizzle up but lets see you try and grow all types of plants in a desert cannabis can actually survive if taken care of and given lots of potassium silicate.
Its not proper hemp.
Proper hemp would be used not only for the fibers but why not grow huge buds with seeds for food and take the left over THC for medicine the legal low THC hemp is stupid and weaker~
@HinduxSkunk Cannabis won't survive in a desert if you give it lots of potassium silicate. Unless you water it in every day which would mean it's not a desert. Just stop now mate, you are just making yourself look ignorant, even though you know 'potassium silicate'
@HinduxSkunk You were talking about growing a plant in the desert, now you're talking about smart pots and taking measures to preserve water. That doesn't sound like desert conditions to me at all. Like I said, Cannabis needs someone looking after it if you want to grow it in the desert. Are you referring to me or you as a guy who makes money growing medical grade cannabis? I have been growing since 1984 and I know the plant pretty well.
@duboisiboy I mention the smart pots because the normal issue with growing in the desert is the soil medium overheating if you plant in the soil obivously the sand/dirt/clay absorbds heat and that would be bad all im saying is that with right conditions and some times help if the conditions are too extreme cannabis can and will flourish
i smoke too much weed to even know what this argument was about in the first place but enjoyable none the less =D

Exactly. The previous version had to be 2 parts: one 10 minutes and one 3 minutes. Since I made it fit into a single, 10-minute video, it is now easier to share the link.
Unfortunately, the talking is fast, but I did adjust the audio frequency so that the voice range would sound normal, instead of the narrator having a helium/chipmunk voice.
Yeah no shit. I used the word purposely just for effect (to be like a stoner). I have a Masters degree from UC Berkeley majoring in English. Do you spend your time correcting people's grammer on You Tube? If so, there are a lot worse transgressor's than I.
Hemp rope is not very durable and can snap alot easier than rope made from manila hemp which is actually not true hemp. Manila hemp comes from Abacá trees a relative of the banana tree.
Hemp rope is extremely durable. Manila hemp may be more so, but it is nowhere
near as viable or versatile a product. You can grow thousands of times the amount of cannibis hemp fiber than abacá tree fiber in a single year (growing season). Moreover, cannibis has many other uses which the abacá tree does not. It has been called the world's most useful plant.
You're spending too much time on Wikipedia; and if so then get your fact's straight.

@duboisiboy
Nah it could survive easily in a smart pot with tin foil over the top of the soil :)
i live in california there is allot of "desert" like areas around here and cannabis does just fine in them if you know what your doing ^_^
A strong sativa with good heat resistance and a pot that wont retain heat(ergo the smartpot) and covering the top so the sun doesnt dry out the water
easy enough.
smart pots wont retain heat so it wont evaporate the water but of course thats all theory.
