  • Love this pond , really skilled work , but tell me has there ever been and disasters - i.e. leakage , liner tear , or colapes during your career , i know we had one last year whole pond and waterfall had to come out and that only had edging stones , couldnt emagine having to pull all that rock out again?!? Once again amasing work , i bet the owner is absolutly amazed with the end results!! Thanks for the inspiration

  • @Lukhal08 We typically deal with other people's disasters but we run into our own disasters on occasion. $#it happens. And yes we have moved rock into a pond, out of a pond and then back into a pond making repairs.

  • at 2:17 is that water or piss?

  • Terrific helpful video.....great tips! Thanks much! Beautiful waterfall!

  • Hey this video really helped me build my waterfall/stream/river, although i seem to be having a problem, im loosing weater only when the pump is running, ive only just filled it with water and the water loss seems to be getting better, i have lined the edges of the liner with sandstone, is it possible that the stone is soaking asll the water up, do i have to keep running it and topping the water lvl up until it stabilizes? Im 99% sure the liner is good and sealed/pipework, plse help..

  • I just started a waterfall/ pond project at home for my wife. I am really glad I found you on YouTube! I am a swimming pool contractor and thought " Hey! we build water features all the time! This can't be any different......" Lol, I really appreciate another professional putting this info out there for everyone. You saved me a lot of headaches on my project because other than my main drains I scrapped the complete hydraulics plan for my project after your videos.... Pics when finished?

  • Still thinking about building a narly water fall in my back yard on a sloped hill but I have a existing 3ft small boulder to rock retaining wall at the foot of the hill. Would it be ok if I used that wall for my last fall into a pond? Or could that damage the wall

  • @lazyboyinc Yes you can definitely use the retaining wall as the last fall into the pond. We typically will remove the cap of the wall to make the transition smooth and natural looking. Go for it!

  • How much does a pond like this cost?

  • @dalohe82 This pond had a price tag around 20k. A price tag on a pond this size is can range from 15k to 30k depending on many different variables.

  • @ThePondDigger That is expensive... But I bet it worth it

If i had the money, I'll definitely pay it without a blink

    Thank you for the answer!

  • @dalohe82 Well if you hit the lottery hit us up and we'll hook you up big time!

  • At our local store guess like the Lowes in the US they sell landscapers foam in black, now is this stuff the same as your pond foam just repackaged different for the pond market.Would it be fish safe,or has to say for ponds ----thanks for all the cool vids maybe when i'm ready hopefully will have learned something from watching

  • Great video but I wouldn't take this large size job on even though I am a do it yourself type of person. With the amount of money and time spent on this, I would hire a professional. I have a much smaller pond that I built and I got some great tips from this video. Maybe in the future I will upgrade to a medium size pond.

  • @Bflo23 Medium, Small, Short or Tall we want it all. We're here to help the DIYer all the way! Let's do this!

  • ************PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im 14 years old and me and my dad wanna do this because we want a pond like this. We have no experience whatsoever lol. instead of using a liner, we were thinking of using use concrete to build it. Do you think it will work out well? Please reply back!

    -Angelo

  • @Frenzy11297 Hey there, I replied to your question in the How to build a waterfall Pt. 1 video.

  • @Frenzy11297 Concrete would work well assuming you also cover it with something natural like sand but you'd want the concrete to be leveled & as thin as possible otherwise it might make a negative impact on your property's foundation.

  • whare did u lieren to do that

  • love ur vids

  • @warrior605 Much Thanks!

  • HEY!!! this video was posted on my birthday

  • @BrysonTrujillo95 Happy Birthday!!!!

  • Dude, you look like that dude on Reality T.V. Southern Fried Strings lol. Is he your Brother ?

  • @DgosFinnest Hey that's funny! I've never seen the show but I looked it up. I have to agree with you but, not related......

  • Thanks for the Part 2 video guys, awesome as always. Just did my FIRST spring clean out two weeks ago and followed PD's steps perfect and all went great. Pond looks even better in year two.

I built my pond following all the PD's video's and only use all treatment from him, my pond has never looked dirty following the guidelines he's instructed. Cleaning the "gunk" is very easy with a once year spring clean.

Look forward to the next videos and the BOOK

  • @dillonjohnson8 Thanks for the feedback Dillon!

  • It looks nice and such But I know I would not be following your design..

Does the pond have a Bottom Drain..?

If not who is going to be cleaning out all the gunk that will build up under all that stone..

Actually who is going to clean up the gunk under all that Stone..?

No stone on the bottom for me..

    J

  • @snowtigre1967 This pond has a large suction grid across the bottom of the pond below the cobble gravel. The pond may need to be drained and cleaned in 5 to 7 years. The pond is completely care free for the home owner. We install bottom drains in at least half of our installations with no gravel on the bottom of the pond. Our pond installation designs are all predicated on the goals and expectations of the home owners. We inform, educate, inspire....and then install. Thanks for the feedback

  • Another Great Video love the fall

  • @caseybtx Thanks for the feedback. I hope it makes you a better waterfall builder!

  • How much did this all cost??

  • @ArtKayz666 I'm not sure how much was spend on the entire backyard project? The pond construction was in the 20k bracket.

  • how much did it cost to make this pond? i want to put a pond like this in my backyard.

  • @mindfreak1o1 This pond installation is in the 20k bracket.

  • FREAKEN AWESOME POND!

  • @kookeediishh Thanks for the feedback! We had a great time producing it.

  • omg finally its spring!

  • @largepandabutt It was a long winter and a delayed spring that's for sure! We're glad the weather is finally cooperating! Let's get to work on our water features!

  • @ThePondDigger how much did it cost to make this pond? i would like to put something like this in my backyard.

  • @mindfreak1o1 You could save a ton of cash if you build the pond yourself. Are you a Build It Yourself kind of mindfreak or are you a "Hire a Professional kinda mindfreak?

  • @ThePondDigger haha im more of a do it yourself person. i own a construction company but ive never built a pond before!

  • @mindfreak1o1 Ain't Nothing to it but to do it! Let's do this!

  • great video! It's good to know you guys are still making vids. These vids are also very helpful and have a lot of good content in there...keep it up!

  • @TheRossiboy Thanks for your feedback! We have plans for more videos you can trust and believe!

  • love the tunnel! great work!

  • @joshinator800 Yeah the tunnel is a nice touch to a pond to provide shelter and refuge for fish hiding from predators. Did you like the plume of air that comes out of the rock out cropping in the bottom of the pond? I really like that feature.

  • @ThePondDigger yup tht was an awesome feature! the whole thing was great. :)

  • @joshinator800 Thanks for the feedback!

  • great info

  • @bkerch55 Thanks for the feedback!

  • been along time great to see you back

  • at lastttttt ....

  • @dollyremo1 Thanks for your patience! We are planning a new attack. Hoping to get you in suspense but keeping you wowed with quality information.

  • i waited, lol. looks just amazing guys. another great job.

  • Finally! Great stuff! Many thanks! We want more, we want more, we want more! :)

  • @LakefieldWaterGarden We have more in the works, I promise. We will be shooting some video this weekend of a beautiful pond. Not sure what the topic will be but the pond needs to be on video. We are planning a video on How to Design a waterfall and may use some of the footage from this pond in that video tutorial.

Also we are planning to shoot some video for a living water bird bath that if goes well will blow peoples minds!

    Stay Tuned!!!!!!
