Tony Zemaitis' company based in Kent ceased trading in 2000 after 35 years. It was a guy named Danny O'Brien who was a shotgun engraver who engraved many of the guitars. The metal fronts came from an idea after they shielded strat pick ups with metal foil. Mostly custom made to order they did build a budget model in the early 80s. They are very valuable and have achieved mythical status. Ron Wood and Marc Bolan were both fans of Zemaitis.

Made by a lithuanian, so it sucks - art is fucking lame as hell.

don't know why these guitars cost so much...

they require a lot of work, and unless you want the same people who make 150 dollar squires making it then get ready to pony up.

Hi Greg, is this the same guitar as Robben Ford has?
chooseyourblues 3 years ago
I don't know. I have not seen RF with a Z model before....
GregsGuitars 3 years ago
Check out the cover of Ford's 'Truth' CD.

this one is from a different japanese luthier
GregsGuitars 3 years ago
Robben Ford uses a Sakashta Noupaul. They're really low production and quite expensive. (I think around 8-10,000) All handmade of course.
