  • and jankovic was also playing her best tennis here... :(

  • wow nicole was sliding with almost no effort on clay...love her game

  • i wouldnt go as far as to say that she would be dominating tennis right now..she had a couple highlights..got to no. 5 in the world..but she was lacking passion...you could just see it..victoria azarenka has improved her game every year..she is now no. 5..i believe she will get to no. 1..and win a couple of grand slams with due time.

  • @luismad07 Azarenka will never get to no1, and if she does, it's just because of the lack of great players and low level in WTA nowadays. Vaidisova had a lot more shots in her repertoire than Azarenka: better power, better touch&volleys, better serve. Aza is the more consistent and athletic one, but Nicole is the better player. But it's true she lacked passion and love for the game, which is sad, because she would definitely have had a Slam under her belt by this time.

  • @orbitalwarrior She is now no. 3..just won Sydney..and if she does well can finish no.1 by the end of the Australian Open..Azarenka will get to no. 1. .she is still relatively young and still has to develop her net play..create more angles and pump her serve...if vaidisova from 07 played azarenka now..vaidisova WOULD win..her form that year was impeccable..but thats the past..Azarenka is here to stay

  • @luismad07 But still because of the lack of better players, not because she has showed an incredibly high level of tennis. Dementieva played better tennis than Aza her whole career, and never won a slam, because there were other, even better players. But unfortunately, Henin, Mauresmo, Davenport, Pierce have retired, and Kim & the sisters are older and don't play a lot of tournaments. It's just a fact, every tennis commentator says it: the level has dropped.

  • @luismad07 I mean, all of the last nr1 players didn't win a slam: Jankovic, Safina, Wozniacki, and the one that did (Ivanovic) succumbed under the pressure, and hasn't performed great for over 3 years. So Aza may get to nr1, but it won't mean that much, because the top10 level has dropped. The level in top 50 is higher now than 10 years ago, but the quality at "the top" has dropped significantly. The 3 first-time GS winners last year, also had first round losses at the Slams. Proof enough.

  • @orbitalwarrior I agree with you..the level is no where near what it used to be. But that wasn't the point that I was making..I was simply stating my prediction that Aza will be no. 1 ..that is all

  • @luismad07 I must admit that I think Aza has got more chance to win a slam than Caroline, because she's more agressive, and maybe now is the time: Serena's out, Kim isn't 100% healthy, and she knows how to beat Kvitova and Sharapova.

  • What happened to nicole?

  • it's a shame that she had to retire so young, i am sure she would be dominating women's tennis right now if she continued to improve. wozniacki and her moonballs would stand no chance against nicole's fantastic ballbashing skills. vika is just a wannabe of nicole.

  • @Iadyjaja Do you know why Vaidisova retired? She should come back...she would give some of these top female players a run for their money lol

  • @amb817 well yeah, she was sick of the game.. she doesn't have the competitive spirit required for tennis.

  • LOL 2:39 huh oi?
