It was such a beautiful building. I lived in Berlin (Ost) in the 1980s. Wonderful interior! Shame they tore it down! They wish to rebuild the exterior of the Stadtschloss -good luck! They will never find the money. Should have took out the asbestos and restored the structure to its DDR-era specs. A lot more cheaper. Now it is a vacant lot. Does anyone know where i can get a copy of the building's blueprints (if any exist)? It had everything in it disco, shops, even a bowling alley!

zu DDR-Zeiten wurde viel historisches abgerissen... und die Geschichte wiederholt sich... zu BRD-Zeiten genau dasselbe. :-) .. würds nach den Wessis gehen, würde es die DDR wieder geben :-)

I liked this building very much. It shouldn't have been destroyed. Now we will build the old castle again, for 550 million Euro. Such a great waste of money :-)
