@jamespiperca each letter in the arabic alphabet can be pronounced three ways depending on if there are marks below or above the letters (the marks are not shown in this video) that is why he is saying three sounds for each letter. the only thing that changes is the vowel sound the letter makes. This video made no sense to me the first time I watched it but after I took an arabic class I came across this video again and I actually understood it.

It may sound "goody" (but I wouldn't call it that) because each consonant is pronounced with one of the three different vowels of the arabic language. Of course, in english or french it would make the song pretty long, but here I believe it's relevant for learning arabic the right way :)

@wudupdunn The reason why it may sound "goofy" as you would say it (beside of the pronunciation of course), it is because each letter such as thee alif ( first letter starting from the upper right hand corner) is said in its three vowels A I U to better understand things such as we as younger children learn our A E I O and U's.
