They can't feel pain anymore. The octopus is not alive AT ALL. The brain has been removed causing instant death. You need a brain to feel pain, and it's obviously no longer connected to one. Ocotpus have different anatomies than mammals. Movements are post death reactions.

I don't really understand how ppl find this cruel coz you still eat octopus. The only difference is some ppl enjoy eating it when it's freshly killed. I really don't see how ppl who eat it fresh is cruel when other ppl also eat it as well. It's the same thing!!!! Only ppl who don't eat octopuses have a right to say something about being cruel.
