OK so first of i am a lover of both boat brands but Malibu power wedge was a great idea and it isn't just the wedge that makes the wake those boats also have like 1500 pounds of ballast on them and the wedge is just to make the wake have a better pop on it but if you like to ride a real wake its all Master craft!

my family had an 06 x-star but we sold it and got a new 09 wakesetter vlx simply because we liked the look, but other then the look the boats got nothing on the xstar...we might sell it for a new xstar after the summer.

Me and my uncle were looking for a wakkeboarding/wake surfing boat to buy we were open to any price any boat that was the perfect one. We also toured the Master Craft and Malibu factorys in Tenn. and the centurion in NC. Malibu is horrible they screw in just about every thing including the seats. Centurions have a horrible fit and finish. Mastercraft had perfect fit and finish and they didnt screw in their seats like malibu!

Hey man, I know we have disagreed a lot on the whole mc vs malibu shit. The only reason I get fired up is because mc is the only company that endources trash talking the other companies... I have gone to a lot of dealer mtgs including mc, malibu, and nautique and the pro riders all push who sponsors them. MC has the most riders cuz they dish out the most money to have them, hence why they own that award. Powerboat Mag is a prestiges award along with MC and Nautiques JD power awards

MC does do a great job w/ trash talking... but when I sell a CC or Malibu I sell on quality or performance. Anytime MC is brought up i tell the customer its a great product and i'll put my boats up against it price and performance anyday.

I do not think I've ever been slapped with a bungy cord (the tower comment)... I am not going to diss Mastercraft, for I have not wakeboarded behind one, however, as a Malibu owner I have no complaints with my 23 LSV. Wake, tower, quality... it rocks, and it gets the job done.
A Malibu may look decent from the outside, even with that gay looking tower, but when you get down to the guts of the boat. Malibu cuts corners and is not even close to the quality of a Mastercraft. In the end, Malibu boats are garbage, MC is the best on the water
well the sad thing is you probly can't ride and need a huge wake to get any air... but if thats all were talking about put a ton of weight in any boat and it will have a good wake. this differance is how the boat it's self is made MasterCraft and Nautique are the only two boats ever worth owning for the simple fact that they are made Stronger and will last longer with a higher resale value
mastercraft sucks. the stock 1000 lbs you get in the x-star can't get the wake near as big as behind a malibu 23 lsv. you have to put like 3000 lbs in that piece of shit to get a decent wake. malibu's wake has sick ramps with nice landing zones while mastercraft just has steep wakes with no landing zones. oh and tige's RZ4 is looks way better than the x-star. mastercraft is gay. buy a real boat.
Too bad you have to put 10 fatsacks in a master craft to get the wake half big. jeff weatherall and chad sharpe run the wedge. Malibu is hands down the best wake to ride, its funny that mc have to make up these lame video clips to try make them look superior though. maybe they should have put that time into making a decent boat.
To put nuts on the bolts, Bu makes large holes in the stringers so workers can get their hands through to the bolts. They turn around and sell this as some kind of ventilation system. Then, they build a box around the drive shaft and let it fill with water to "reduce drive shaft vibration". They call this the "hydrophonic dampening box". Which should be called the, leaking problem with an inferior boat box. So next time you look at a Bu, remember this little construction lesson. 2 of 2
OK, heres why you can have two malibu's with the engines off by as much as 2 inches. Its because instead of having a fixed location for the drive-shaft to exit the hull, Malibu has a large, oval hole that the shaft goes through. The engine can be forward or back 2 inches and the shaft will still go through that hole. Then Malibu drills through their hollow stringers + puts bolts through the stringer to mount the engine. That's right, the engines mounted on a hollow stringers. (Part 1 of 2)
CC and Malibu are far better than MC. I own a CC and it is Awesome ANd two of my friends have boat one a MC and one is a Malibu. The friend with the MC hate is and always comes with us in the CC and Malibu. BUt the Malibu Wedge sucks we took it off and just used more weight the wegde is just a drag device that just kills the boat.

Jump3558, you need to check out your facts. It was the 98 that chine locked (not the 99), the 98 already had 4 fins on them (I know I have one), the original rudder had fins on it they just changed the pitch to match the angle of the prop shaft, and they have never been able to get that hull to chine lock again. They added the rails and changed the rudder to flatten out the wake a little more.
yeah mc makes a good boat put its over priced as hell you wqnt the best inboard on the market you buy a TIGE better than a mastercraft and save money as well. mastercraft is pricing themseleves right out the maket. and tige is gained more market share last year then anyother ski boat and mastercraft lost the most as cc and bu stayed the same. mastercraft is lving of thier name and thats about to come to an end as other boats have caught and surpased them. and yes the wedge is shit!!!

This is great... MASTERCRAFT is King.., And to the guy that said Malibu sells more boats, Hyundai sells more cars than Bentley. Whats your point. There is simply no better Inboard than a Mastercraft for one reason; construction. Thicker hull, Foam Filled Stringer Grid, and a One Piece Walk-Thru Reinforced Cap. The new ones are like driving a friggin Bentley. None other compares in the slightest in todays inboard market.
It would take me half the day to itemize everything that Malibu does better than MC. Drive one idiot-Malibu will turn circles around your no traking fin, water coming over the bow, RattleTrap.
Check out the '99 MC that chine locked right onto the shore. They band-aided the boat by glue-ing sponsins on the bottom to give it more lift, added a 4th fin, and a fin on the rudder all to correct for a badly designed hull that was unsafe. Just like when you were a little kid in elementary school, the insecure and flailing kids could only feel better about themselves by picking on everyone else and trying to make themselves look better.
Drive a malibu and you will see why Mastercraft has to result in name calling and videos like this. See why Mailbu overtook MC as the best selling boat line. I switched after 18 years with MC. MC is a great company but Malibu in my opinion is much better value and performs at a much higher level.

Me and my uncle were looking for a wakkeboarding/wake surfing boat to buy we were open to any price any boat that was the perfect one. We also toured the Master Craft and Malibu factorys in Tenn. and the centurion in NC. Malibu is horrible they screw in just about every thing including the seats. Centurions have a horrible fit and finish. Mastercraft had perfect fit and finish and they didnt screw in their seats like malibu!

Hey man, I know we have disagreed a lot on the whole mc vs malibu shit. The only reason I get fired up is because mc is the only company that endources trash talking the other companies... I have gone to a lot of dealer mtgs including mc, malibu, and nautique and the pro riders all push who sponsors them. MC has the most riders cuz they dish out the most money to have them, hence why they own that award. Powerboat Mag is a prestiges award along with MC and Nautiques JD power awards

Jr, every company slings mud. its a sales man's greatest tool. I've been to several dealerships and Mastercraft is usually the first company that gets trashed. It makes perfect sense because they are the biggest. I never said MC is better than malibu. I think both boat companies are superior. MC is just better at marketing. BTW The first Xstar was introduced in 97 for the xgames (hence the name). maybe you were alive then.

Alright, since you dont get sarcasm... I'm not 13yrs old, much to the disappointment of most of you wierdos online. I am a Marketing major and carry three lines of inboard wakeboats at my dealership. MC does do a great job w/ trash talking... but when I sell a CC or Malibu I sell on quality or performance. Anytime MC is brought up i tell the customer its a great product and i'll put my boats up against it price and performance anyday.

A Malibu may look decent from the outside, even with that gay looking tower, but when you get down to the guts of the boat. Malibu cuts corners and is not even close to the quality of a Mastercraft. In the end, Malibu boats are garbage, MC is the best on the water

mastercraft sucks. the stock 1000 lbs you get in the x-star can't get the wake near as big as behind a malibu 23 lsv. you have to put like 3000 lbs in that piece of shit to get a decent wake. malibu's wake has sick ramps with nice landing zones while mastercraft just has steep wakes with no landing zones. oh and tige's RZ4 is looks way better than the x-star. mastercraft is gay. buy a real boat.

Malibu is hands down the best wake to ride, its funny that mc have to make up these lame video clips to try make them look superior though. maybe they should have put that time into making a decent boat.

To put nuts on the bolts, Bu makes large holes in the stringers so workers can get their hands through to the bolts. They turn around and sell this as some kind of ventilation system. Then, they build a box around the drive shaft and let it fill with water to "reduce drive shaft vibration". They call this the "hydrophonic dampening box". OK, heres why you can have two malibu's with the engines off by as much as 2 inches. Its because instead of having a fixed location for the drive-shaft to exit the hull, Malibu has a large, oval hole that the shaft goes through. The engine can be forward or back 2 inches and the shaft will still go through that hole. Then Malibu drills through their hollow stringers + puts bolts through the stringer to mount the engine. That's right, the engines mounted on a hollow stringers. (Part 1 of 2)

The friend with the MC hate is and always comes with us in the CC and Malibu. Jump3558, you need to check out your facts. It was the 98 that chine locked (not the 99), the 98 already had 4 fins on them (I know I have one), the original rudder had fins on it they just changed the pitch to match the angle of the prop shaft, and they have never been able to get that hull to chine lock again. They added the rails and changed the rudder to flatten out the wake a little more.

yeah mc makes a good boat put its over priced as hell you wqnt the best inboard on the market you buy a TIGE better than a mastercraft and save money as well. mastercraft is pricing themseleves right out the maket. and tige is gained more market share last year then anyother ski boat and mastercraft lost the most as cc and bu stayed the same. mastercraft is lving of thier name and thats about to come to an end as other boats have caught and surpased them. and yes the wedge is shit!!!

There is simply no better Inboard than a Mastercraft for one reason; construction. Thicker hull, Foam Filled Stringer Grid, and a One Piece Walk-Thru Reinforced Cap. The new ones are like driving a friggin Bentley. None other compares in the slightest in todays inboard market.

Check out the '99 MC that chine locked right onto the shore. They band-aided the boat by glue-ing sponsins on the bottom to give it more lift, added a 4th fin, and a fin on the rudder all to correct for a badly designed hull that was unsafe. Just like when you were a little kid in elementary school, the insecure and flailing kids could only feel better about themselves by picking on everyone else and trying to make themselves look better.
