Depending on WHY you have vertigo, yoga or BPV exercises can either improve or worsen the symptom. See a doctor, he/she will locate the cause of the problem and THEN he can give his/het recommendations of what positions/exercises to do. Some doctors just prescribe walking and or certain head movements. This video is still helpful, as some doctors may suggest yoga, it's a good starting point.
thank you! I woke this morning w/ sinus trouble and dizziness, and was afraid to do any yoga today, but followed your example and found that the breathing and stretches IMPROVED my condition instead of worsening it as I had feared. again thank you!
If Gregory Johnson had taken his own advice and talked to a doctor, or even done some basic internet research, he would have found out that benign positional vertigo is a very common condition that causes vertigo, and that the vertigo can be "fatigued" by adopting the posture that provokes the vertigo, which is undoubtedly what the yoga postures did for him.
@mariaklec -- Thanks for taking time to view my video. I'm sorry if it came across as suggesting that I'd "discovered" some cure for vertigo. I wasn't trying to be pompous, but simply sharing a personal experience. Had I known that yoga postures could have helped, I would have Googled it, but as with many things, if we knew what we were searching for, we wouldn't need to search for it. Often in life we "discover" something on our own that many others have also discovered. That's all this is.
@mariaklec Gregory's experience was very help to me, unlike the doctors who "treat" vertigo symptoms with chemical man-made pills. I'll pass on the doctor visit and chemicals, which mind you, do NOT cure, but rather treat a SYMPTOM. Some of the "doctors" have not as of yet been helpful to some of us. Thanks to Gregory for sharing his story for those who want to treat themselves with simple yoga postures.
