A lot of "New Wave"/punk was heavily influenced by reggae, so this choice really isn't THAT unusual. She probably would've done better w/ this one in her prime and/or in the studio, but I think it's still pretty good even so~shrug~ A little disappointing, sure, but livable:)

Her name is Chrissie Hynde from the group The Pretenders...one of their biggest hits was "Brass In Pocket" in 1979...so the younger generation wouldn't really know who she is...I am sure she was a fan of Bob Marley, and he inspired her in some way, for the Marley's to invite her to sing here, it wasn't the best performance, but she does sing rock music...but I think he would've loved all the performers...it was beautiful to see how many people truly love him and are inspired by his music..

The great Jimmy Cliff also could be rescued and the marvelous Queen Latifah who came in so slow in the "One Love" rendition. But all was good for the Prophet of the powerful universal vision, the great BOB MARLEY in this UNITED Nations Anthem! Regards
