  • This is awesome! Ive always loved cheese ravioli.

  • Who the fuck brought up djent.... just kill yourself already.

  • sub genres are also somewhat necessary... mallcore for instance.. we see it and know to stay away cuz its fucking garbage....

  • the whole "djent" thing is so fucking dumb...next thing you know you're gonna have bands that play in the style of "djurrnn" or " batatboomcattacatta" ...stop with all the fucking sub genres in metal...it's getting so annoying it makes me puke in my mouth

  • this is freakin sweet

  • man these guys are just too good for this time !! they are way ahead ! very few ppl actually appreciate real talent ! btw Cynic are GODS !

  • If u think Exivious is jazzy than go check out Panzerballett

  • @SpartanLaserCanon Thanks for the suggestion, great band.

  • sounds like cynic and atheist put together since they both do jazz fusion

  • @jpbarbedwire666 Sounds like Exivious. -.-

  • @Djuka61 what ever helps you sleep at night

  • @jpbarbedwire666 Doesn't sound much like Atheist.

  • @Megadedly Maybe a little with the bass.

  • @jpbarbedwire666 Fretless jazz bass usually sounds similar.

  • @Djuka61 no shit

  • This is cool

  • Comment removed

  • This is sic! I been making songs that have progressive, metal, and jazz (mainly smooth) elements in it. Hopefully soon there will be a genre for such art :3 jazz/metal is the shit

  • This is more Jazz Metal then Djent!!!!!! =)

  • time signatures and their changes

  • Badass. I got a new favorite band

    =P

  • Bass sounds like Warwick.

  • These guy are great. Love it !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song !

  • "This band sucks," "You're a pussy if you listen to this," etc. etc. etc. Instead of running around the internet and flicking people off, why not just state why "this band" rules and be done? The earth isn't going to explode if the other person doesn't like it. Move on.

Exivious rules. Rush does too. And A7X is fucking great adrenaline music. What? A7X is shit? Then I guess this shit is fucking great adrenaline music.

  • @Dvaerak7Korgo I agree completely. A7X is a great listen at times, especially now that the vocalist actually sings.

  • that intro made me cum..

  • reminds me a lot of rush and primus

  • @mellitrom629 Why? lol, is it because you listen to Gay7X?

  • @Megadedly no, because it reminds me of rush and primus.

  • @Megadedly listen to leave that thing alone by rush. sounds pretty identical in ways to this song. and then the bass does stuff that sounds like primus's bass. i dont even know how any other bands got brought up or why you went on my profile.

  • @mellitrom629 Because you don't have much musical variety, so you make the connection to more unlikely bands or inspirations :P.

  • @Megadedly how can you tell what kind of music i listen to by a couple songs on my favorites? and what's with attitude? you're kind of a douche bag.

  • @mellitrom629 I'm not a douche bag, you're just offended. And it's just that those bands like A7X and Disturbed are riddled with 4/4 time signatures and simple repetitive riffs. You can't just cross into this genre :P.

  • @Megadedly no, you're being a douche. you're telling me what's wrong with the music i listen to. i like a7x, but where did you get disturbed from? i really don't know what the fuck your deal is, but you cant say shit about the bands that matter in this discussion, rush and primus. you're nitpicking at shit that doesn't matter and trying to back up your argument with it. if you listen to exivious and then listen to rush or primus, you will hear a similarity, which is why i brought them up.

  • @mellitrom629 I am familiar with Rush and Primus. You're obviously offended and now you're just nerd raging. I said Disturbed because they are similar to A7X, and they're both terrible.

  • @Megadedly and now you're going off topic again and completely avoiding the topic.

  • @mellitrom629 No I'm not, I just don't believe that this sounds similar to Rush or Primus, there's not much else to say. I thought we'd be having a little more of an intriguing discussion, but eh.

  • @Megadedly yes, you were going off topic. there's no denying that. I was talking about rush, you brought up avenged. I'd have a discussion, but you were just bashing. I never said that a7x was music genius or that they were original or anything at all. I like their music, along with other music. I didn't know liking a rock band would get people telling me i had no variety. About my first comment, i guess you couldve summed it up by telling me it was an opinion. You don't have to be an asshole.

  • @mellitrom629 Lol, I'm not an ass hole, plus you're delving way too deep, like this is some personal affiliation.

  • cynic style ! love it

  • Very melodic.

  • This is awesome music.I know people love to give the music they like all these sub genre titles(i.e. screamo,djent,grindcore...etc) so they can further seperate it in thier minds and otherd to make it more of thier own but its all good music to me. I like metal and to me that is everything from megadeth to lamb of god slipknot etc.As lomg as its noy hiphop its music

  • @OMNINIGKILL well you should re-think what music is, because hip-hop is a music genre after all. how can you say that dividing music into genres doesn't matter, yet at the same time you dismiss hip-hop as music? stop being narrow minded and appreciate diversity of expression even though it might not be to your taste. it's what makes bands like exivious exist after all.

  • I think I might like this .

  • This is NOT Djent

  • @shyroii im sorry, but what is djent? ive heard of this but i would like to know what it is...

  • @Ageetarist Djent is As Fredrik Thondertal says, the sound of a plam muted and distorted guitar, it's not really a music style it's just an onomatopoeia.

  • @shyroii It's forming into a genre of its own now haha.

  • @shyroii Thordendal..

  • @BannanaOfDoom What he says is the word of God apparently.

  • @Ageetarist Animals as leaders and meshuggah are good examples. Animals as leaders is an amazing band check out CAFO or Tempting TIme by them, you won't be disappointed

  • @Ageetarist djent is something that few people find nice... Try Meshuggah - ObZen or Lethargica or Bleed. THAT'S djent... Other djent bands are like TesseracT...

  • @shyroii I hate humanity.

  • am I the only one that thinks the drums are beyond impressive? It took me a while to realize how many fills and minute things stef added. He should be up there with the likes of Haake, Rich, and Dailor.

  • Just bought the album. These guys are awesome !

  • i just looked up djent on wikipediakeept seeing it on utube ..thats waht it is ?!!? wow

  • @joeyofdoom666 I don't think it is Djent. Try Animals as Leaders, Teserect and Meshuggah. Though I'm not entirly sure what Djent is either so I might be wrong about them too...

  • @CyanideSovereign yea i dont think this is either i was just curious what djent was and was sad to find out the definition lol why cant it just be metal

  • I hate how everyone uses the term Djent as a genre when it's definitely a type of guitar tone... and these guys wouldn't even be considered Djenty haha

  • dear god the bass is amazing

  • BRILIANT!

  • Oh yes.

  • This song is the leading cause of epileptic fits. The normal person cant handle the madness of this music

  • Exotic++

  • What is 'djent'?

Bulb (a.k.a. Misha Mansoor) says it best: "The onomatopoeia of a heavily palm muted distorted guitar chord which is usually played as but not limited to a 4 string double octave powerchord, and as a result sounds much more metallic and sonically present than a 'chug' 'chugga' or 'djun' per se, and which is basically how Periphery would describe its palm muted guitar sound."

  • @hytek1 This song isn't djent because it doesn't contain the sound "djent" anywhere, right?

  • @jsteele07189 I guess from what other's are saying on this thread... I so do hear the palm muted 4 string powerchord! ... man, Neverland is confusing me. To me this is so Djent :)

  • @hytek1 where do you hear djents in this song? by "djents" i mean heavily palm muted double octave power chords. also, what is "Neverland" and why is it confusing? :)

  • @hytek1 It's not Djent dude. No way. This is jazz fusion.

  • @Megadedly More specifically it's fusion metal.

  • @milesmeloro Well that's a given, lol.

  • @hytek1 Djent..........................hahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahhahahahahahhahahah

  • Everyone who loves this type of music should check out (wx3)got-djent(dot)com

It's a huge community for this amazing style! Too lazy? Youtube Periphery!

  • never noticed how much they sound like martyr before

  • Fucking innovation.

  • I love it... This (jazz-Metal) is called Djent now-a-days djentlements. Periphery is one of my favorite but Exivious is REALLY great too!

  • @hytek1 djentlemen is new to me XD

  • @hytek1 ...wut. "Jazz-metal" as people like to call it (I personally don't like using it myself, but w/e. ) is definitely not what people refer to as "Djent". Djent bands tend to have clean parts thrown here and there, but nothing related to Jazz, unless I'm missing something.

And while Periphery are awesome, I see no connection between them and Jazz. closest you can get between the two is probably AAL, but I'm not sure if people call them djent anyway.

  • @NeverLandQM Animals As Leaders IS Djent buddy. Seriously go check out: Got-Djent(Dot)com

It's a community for Djent fans... there's a Top 100 list and you find bands like Periphery and AAL. :))

  • @NeverLandQM Ohh I see what you're saying, Exivious isn't Djent? Man, to me I see no difference between them and AAL/Periphery. To me Exivious is pure Djent... they're so similar to Tesseract, Periphery, AAL, etc...

  • really nice! me likes!

  • ya era necesario el jazz metal

  • This makes me want to head bang ... AND pick up my guitar for some hybrid scale good time! Best of both worlds!!

  • @y7u7r7i you mena hybrid picking in, lets say bulgariyn scale =D

  • @loborneta yeah, something like that!

  • This is really good xD

Reminds me of death, with jazz in it, amazing truly :D

  • Alright I'm just gonna say that I was always partial to Sean Malone's playing in in Cynic. However, i think that Robin is still a great player. His lines in this song are exstremely inventive. I enjoyed this:)

  • tasty music :)

  • Awesome band!!! 5/5 \m/

  • Really liking this song!

  • VERY VERY COOL.. and provoking.. lots of different "flavors"..

  • It's awesome! Magistral example of fusion mixed with technical metal! I really like it! Interesting experiment!

  • dear lord...where have been these guys all this time ?...I stood hours listening their music. simply amazing.

  • its very good, but unfortunately every "jazz" metal band I hear seems to be heavily in the vein of Cynic.

  • @ElusiveHermit Some of this bands members are from Cynic.

  • Amazing Song! If you like that you should also check Counter-World Experience from germany...

  • gimme the link for this song (:

  • THIS IS PURE SHIT, I MEAN THEY ARE VERY TALENTED BUT I FOUND THIS WITH NO SOUL, THERE'S NO FEELINGS INVOLVED, PRETTY BORING. BTW MUSIC IS ABOUT FEELINGS, NOT ABOUT HOW GOOD YOU ARE AT AN INSTRUMENT. PEACE.

  • @ANTHMX "no soul" - usually that criticism is given by people who want to hear strictly diatonic music.

  • @ElusiveHermit mostly that fuckin blocked minor pentatonic pattern that people naturally want to hear, how annoying, nice comment

  • @ElusiveHermit lol

    you're the man

  • Comment removed

  • + 10000000000 You're completely right.

Lots of people associate "diatonic" music with soul.

  • @ANTHMX WHY ARE YOU YELLING

  • @ANTHMX Look man go and take some LSD.

  • @ionepgp lmfao

  • @ANTHMX I got some feeling out of it.... Now Yngwie Malmsteen, that's different.

  • time signature?? thats a noobish concept. theres culture behind it and lot more i dont need to mention

  • The reason why this isn't famous mainstream: TIME SIGNATURE TIME SIGNATURE. Mainstream fans can't comprehend them. And that is why this is AWESOME.

  • ALL PROG IS PROG, EVEN MESHUGGAH.

  • Man... all this needs is a vocalist with jazz and rock influence who can add their own little twist to this wonderful music and you have an aural embodiment of god.

  • Wow, you don't hear this quality of music every day.

  • Remind me Spiral Architect, got influences of them right ? anyway thumb up x 99999999999999999999....

  • AHHHH the bassist is sooo goooood aslkdfjaskdgaskdjf

  • is there a place where i could purchase this song?

  • @MrZexion15

    jus convert the file

copy link nd convert on some converting site

  • I have just discovered this band..sounds very good to me, sort of relaxing listening, but wouldnt compare this to Mehuggah at all..they are hardly labelable :) love their stuff!!!

  • "Jazz Metal"?! Weird, but kinda good...

  • meshuggah owns faces

  • Stef Broks

  • Nice *W*

  • eximious + envious = exivious? if im right, it is a very good example for blending(expresson use in morphology) :):) by the way i really like their music! its awesome :) big smile from Hungary

  • Now this shit takes some TALENT

  • This is like a better version of Cynic, and without the annoying vocals.

  • uy severo severo metal por el tema estoy creando un proyecto similar

  • uy severo severo metal por el tema estoy creando un proyecto similar

  • meshuggah has been around since 86

  • THIS is amazing.... O.O

  • Dude your music is godly.

  • What the eff time signatures is this in???

  • @InvisionThat over 9000/4

  • Moar like "Time Signatures and it's changes"

    Amirite?

  • @Behemias Actually no... I pointed that out to somebody once and found out that "it's" is the exception to the apostrophe rule... it's = it is ; its = belongs to it.

  • @twistedmethoddan Welp, you learn something new everyday

  • jesus :D this is brilliant how amny albuns?

  • Excelent music ¡¡¡¡

  • Part 3

Pushing musical boundaries in metal. Mesh. structures and Solo's (that includes the "texture/atmospheric" Soloing) are more of Thrash/Death and even Fusion leanings. I can even hear it in THIS song from Exivious, just add a more "choppy" edge to the riffs "ends" and heavier Drums. But Exivious is what they are, Mesh. are what they are(by the way, I dont think the "Band" themselves consider themselves "Industrial").All that matters is that these people take metal to a higher Art form :D

  • Part2

The "Stop and Go" riffage was done before them as well (Powermad comes to mind, and Death, Cynic), because it sounds "Mechanical" I wouldnt put them into a Ind. frame. Ind. always has samples and Keys (except for the purveyors of Ind.Mtl like "Godflesh" and a few others) and for the most part, Vocals are always rough and often enhanced (Like original Cynic on "2nd" vocals?). Mesh. definitely belong in the Death Metal genre but are soo much more. Like Opeth and the like . . . (continued)

  • Part1

Exivious are great, and I have to say that I like "Labels", when you go buy food at a store, you look at the ingredients to find out whats in it. I consider "Math Metal" and "Jazz/Fusion Metal" to great labels but will always get lobbed in with "Prog Metal". and thats okay.

As for Meshuggah, I've been a fan since "Destroy Erase Improve" debuted, and was given to me by a Industrial Metal fan who didnt like it :P I dont see them as Ind.Metal,(imo) (continued)...

  • always nice to hear something fresh. I enjoy this

  • unique sounds. I wouldn't mind feeling more heavy from the music but great skill and timing

  • Awesome groove, very nice track!

  • woahh!!! now this is music!!

  • Fucking amazazing

  • @Riffnspliff true its truly amazazing.

  • lol this explains the music perfectly. Time (signatures) and its Changes

  • Ahhh, so much talent and skill. I haven't heard this much talent or skill in one song in a very long time. This is just perfect. Exivious, in my opinion, is so much better than Cynic. Such a perfect band!!!!

  • Check out zhabareth! on here, facebook, and myspace

  • wow it's a fantastic music work!

  • Beautiful work! Fantastic!

  • This is class. Just purchased the album :D

  • Sweet! The bald bassist! He is fantastic :)

  • good music. sounds like cynic. go figure robin and tymon played in cynic if im correct. jazz fusion metal/prog metal rules

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, this is the first band ive heard that reminds me of Sikth! fUCKING Awesome!

  • @Jiezeru What about Bulb? and his stuff?

  • fuck yes. exivious hits the spot so well.

  • and they were all heavily influenced by allan holdsworth

  • LOL, Chon has been formed last year, Textures are around for almost 10 years, and Cynic almost 20 years ... now, turn on that grey matter in your skull, yes, your brain and tell me again - who sounds like who?

  • sounds pretty much like CHON

  • omg you win...Cynic assimilation complete

  • hell yea, more bands like this.... sounds really good i hate new mathcore bands and shit like messhuggah or however the fuck you spell it they try so hard and they end up sounding like shit, this is real soothing and enjoyable sound just like Cynic. Cheers

  • @ajvarofdoom

i kind of agree. i love bands like exivious and cynic, but i have three things to say:

    1. meshuggah isnt new, theyve ben around since the 90's and they were one of the few original industrial death metal bands back then and still are

    2. in my opinion they arent "math metal", i dont even consider it a genre. they are idustrial, somewhat progressive, death metal.

    3. they dont sound like shit

    this stuff is awesome too.

  • Indeed, they sound like nothing else existing.

  • @iDrum37

i dont like using math metal as a term for a genre much either, but how are meshuggah's poly rythms not considered math metal? they're far more mathy than they are industrial

  • meshuggah is like a groove metal band

  • agreed fully, poly rhythms are the the most groovin things out there

  • @iDrum37 I love meshuggah.

  • @iDrum37 "mathcore" is bs, too robotic

  • @iDrum37

uuummmm.............. meshuggah isnt even death metal nor industrial.its really best not to even label them a genre or your just better of calling them a expermental metal band due to the fact that they have innovated music styles and use complex song structures and polyrhythms
