You install one leg in the video camera, keep the monopod securely and video record. The shaking of the video camera is lightened by using monopod.

I think that Apple should respond to the AVCHD method early. When the video of which it takes a picture with HDRXR500 is edited, I am using EDIUS.

It will work with an apple. Maybe you don't have the right app to edit AVCHD formats.

I checked with a Sony tech. It only record at 16Mbs, then somehow plays back as if it were 24. It's a marketing gimmick.

I ended up buying the Canon HFS100. Love it.

I'm also reading that the Sonys only record at 16Mbs, while brands such as JVC are now up to 24Mbs.

Is this also part of the problem I'm seeing, or is there some sort of "advanced" setting with a higher rate than the default?

no, sony records at 24 mbs too.

I'm reading reports that this Sony ONLY shoots in interlaced mode. (The Vixia can do 30p) Thus, there is a huge loss (jagged edges, tails, etc) when converting to progressive mode, which I believe is needed for web presentation?

Is this so, and is this part of the problem?

Why are you using monopod when this camera rules with active stab?

An active stabilizer is equipped in this camera. However, this function can do only vertical and the horizontal correction to the screen.

It is a blurring of the gyration that stands out because of taking a picture reserves against the screen.

The movement of this direction of the rotation can be canceled by straightening the balance of the camera by installing the monopod.
