Nirvana is definitelt NOT overrated. Anyone who creates awesome, moving music deserves to be talked about over and over again. Simply because it's rare that something like that gets to the mainstream.

@listentoalex Honestly I would call Nirvana a watered down version of better bands (ie the Pixies, Sonic Youth, Husker Du...). They were just palatable enough to make it in the mainstream, while the true innovators didn't get the credit they deserved for influencing 90s grunge.

Hey, i like Sleater-Kinney a lot, but considering some power trios include The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, The Police, Rush, Motorhead, and Nirvana, I don't think that statement is quite accurate...

I do. I love all of those bands, and think Sleater-Kinney is a better band than any of them, one of the best live bands I have ever seen (and I'm old enough to have seen Hendrix and Cream).
