I saw better, more ingenious designs in a beginners graphic design class.

How can "2012" be 5 objects?
There is a DOT (square) next to the "1" (which looks more like an "i"). There is no number that requires a DOT above it.
So, this cannot spell out "2012" - the two 2's are inconsistant (not the same object)
At the very least it's a disgracefully bad piece of art and design (if you can even call it that).

@korearichie exactly. You lived there for 30 years as a citizen, your bound to fucking hate it. Its "the norm" to you. Psychological effect is that anything that breaks that norm (in your case OZ, South Korea and Canada) seems wonderous and appealing. I'm sure there's plenty of Canadians who find Canada dull and shitty too. The UK economy is far more powerful than Canada's, and was badly affected as it is highly business based. The UK is not the best country in the world by any means- however, its economy is far from in the gutter (still one of the most powerful in the World) and The UK is far from the "sinking ship" you are making out. Yes, there is to be huge cuts, but many nations are facing similar, if not more significant cuts, off the back of a GLOBAL recession. You desire for a sense of superiority here is childish.

Revolting. The shape is supposed to spell 2012, but it's so ugly it defies description. After the simple but beautiful Athens olive wreath and Beijing's "dancing man" logos, this is such a failure. Whoever approved it should be shot!
