Ohh.... Not a fan of this demo :/ Not to sound like an ass, but the playing was pretty sloppy and he's playing the same version I see in all of the tabs.
If you think those oscillation noises sound good you are crazy. In the correct manner sure, but in the beginning its like WTF. My zoom 505 used to sound like that before it broke...
@ajatkinson2004 Sometimes it sounds like that, depends what kind of settings you have it on, if you listen to new born by muse when they played glastonbury in '04 you will hear how bellamy incorporates it into the intro of the song and on the part before the guitar comes in. So those "retchid" sounds, I think, are quite a cool thing to do.
That it does. I'm not totally sure how much it costs. I know that the standard is $70 more. But alot of people say that you can get one of the cheaper ones the Vexter series ones and they're just as good. Personally I think both of them are cool. But I think they sound a bit differnet. I don't think ones better tha the other. They just sound diffrent. Probably not by alot though. You could get a Vexter series and save your money.
Don't get me wrong I like the Fuzz Factory (though I like the sound of the Big Muff Pi better) I'm just saying there IS a diffrence in the originals and Vexter series. If you want a good pedal that's going to give you lots of sounds and make awsome quirky fuzz tones, get one. But for your own sake get an original one if at all possible.

The Vexter series is made in Taiwan and is made with silicon transistors and I've heard it is kinda shitty. To me it seems like he just wants to make alot of them real cheap and skimp on quality. The standard is hand painted and is made with geranium transistors and from what I understand is the way to go if your going to buy one. Standard is $70 more though. But if you want to make some noise it's definately worth it!
Hate to tell ya, but your wrong man. The Vexter Series is exactly the same. Instead of getting it hand painted by some fancy artist and paying way more, you can get the Vexter one which just has some screened finish instead but has the exact same functions as the standard. Same pedal, different art. Comes down to whether you care about how your pedal looks as opposed to sheer functionality.
Ok fine whatever. I'm so fucking tired of having this conversation with people. Go read some reviews on it. Not only do they say that they don't like the Vexter series as much they say that customer support is total shit. I like the Z. Vex pedals. There very creative and cool. But the point is the Vexter series of Fuzz Factories are made in Taiwan and not as good as the originals. He's just being a business man. Making a cheaper product so he can mass produce easier.
And don't let anybody tell you there is no diffrence in the sound quality of germanium transistors and silicon transistors. Both are pretty good. It comes down to what sound you like. Germaniums sound more vintage. That's why the Fuzz Factory has a great reputation. Silicon is easier to come by so it's cheaper than Germanium ones. therefore if your going to mass produce a pedal your going to not have them hand painted and your going to use cheaper materials to make a profit.
oh man... the vexter USES GERMANIUM TRANSISTORS... GERMANIUM. listen, I agree there is a business plan, and that plan is to get suckers to pay much more for a paint job, and people do because they read comments like yours. tut tut
Listen to me you asshole. There is a difference between them other than the paint job. I'm not trying to get anybody to buy anything other than what they want. I'm only puttting MY opinion out there and I'm telling the FACTS that there is a sound difference between the two pedals. I'm so tired of going over this with shithead like you. If I get one more comment about it I'm going to track you down and put your face on the front of one of the damn things and see how much it goes for!
hey calm down man, I'm not trying to piss you off dude im just giving my two cents too. Im just saying, your stating that the vexter has silicon transistors when it doesnt, that isn't opinion your giving thats misinformation. There are differences, such as the brand of capasitors and the knobs, but nothing that drastically changes the sounds, they both sound identical to me (obviously in my opinion as sound cant be measured).
and don't forget that the charge of the battery has a huge effect on the sound, so if the two FF's you compared had different levels of charge on the battery they will sound quite different.
Very true. Sorry I went off. I've just talked about this with so many people that I don't think know what they're talking about. Obviously you do know what your talking about. well, if it goes through your effects loop on your amp, that may be the problem. put in the direct line straight into your amp, that's what i do with mine and i love it. it works for me, it may work for you too.
well...that means it sounds absolutely phenomenal frist in the signal chain because i don't have it through my effects loop, or first through the straight amp to guitar line, but i still get a fantastic sound out of it.
