50 cals won't split people in half. Stop watching rambo. The grain of a 50 cal bullet is WAY to heavy to transfer power on a person. It would take a hollow point shooting a elephant to transfer the energy of a 50 cal round. A 50 cal FMJ isn't going to split someone in hal, and hollow points are NOT allowed in military becuase of Geneva rules.

Hollow points (all expanding point ammunition for that matter) in battle are banned by the Hague Accords, not the Geneva convention.

Know your shit or don't open your mouth. FMJ are lead rounds covered in a thin jacket of copper. They are NOT armor piercing. Specialized armor piercing rounds have hardened steel or tungsten tips, not copper. The jacket only stops the soft lead from smearing all over the inside of the barrel, and prevents the actively terrible armor piercing of soft point or hollowpoint rounds.

AP ammos are encased in FMJ to prevent damage to the barrel from the harder cores that will wear the fuck out of it as well as prevention of deformation of the round for higher velocities. All the AP ammo I load into the Giat 20mm is FMJ including incendiary.

Yes you can: NTW-20, Lahti L39, Type-97, XM-29 OICW. All of these shoot 20mm cannon shells (apart from the XM-29, which is an airbursting grenade). To put it into perspective, a 12 gauge shotgun shell is roughly 20mm, people shoot those all the time without injury, and thats not incluing 10 and even 8 gauge shotguns which are all bigger than 20mm
