This makes me think of a friend who moved when he went to college. Now whenever we meet again, my friends and I have to listen to his stories of how awesome his new friends are and how great he is at his classes...meanwhile it's obvious that he's living in a dream world. By some miracle he actually found a girlfriend a year ago, but now he always brags about his hot, non-existent ex-girlfriends and hints at how much sex he had with them. So fucking annoying.

Brilliant. I'd say everyone is unique, but no one is special. The same cosmic realities impinge and utltimately determine outcomes for all of us.. but who knows what those cosmic realities are? I suspect however, that whatever they are, they are "no respecter of persons". The illusion of being special comes with the delusion that somehow those cosmic rules do not apply to us. I love the cubic zirconium analogy. If you really want a diamond, you have to know how to make the disctinction.

Insightful. A bit pessimistic. But look at where the desire comes from. For many, self worth is measured by the opinion of others. I suppose we'd all like to be special. But few people are. Myself included. Maybe I'm weird, but I can't see trying to make people think that I'm something I'm not. Tempting as that can be, I have to ask myself if I could live up to the bullshit I claim. Since I can't, I claim nothing I can't prove - which isn't much. I like your videos, though. I can claim that.

i think every decade can be looked at as rounds in a fight. there are movements against or for something and the out come of that round is how we see that period of time. the thing is, its hard to see exactly what this decade will be seen as because we are in it. I hope TJ is wrong about this one, because this is my decade and thats kind of a shitty thing to be remembered for.

I think we're pretty cynical these days and if someone lies, they are gonna get caught on their bullshit big time. In the past, you didin't know ppl were lying, making it seem like these days, everybody is lying but its just more easy to catch someone on their bullshit. We have YT and we can fact-check shit on our Iphones.
