It is from a piece I premiered in NY in May called Game of Poker, by composer Richard Burke, who is currently writing music for Twyla Tharpe (fabulous man and genius composer). It was meant to parody Handel arias... it's a wonderful piece! A true delight to perform. It's nice for a more dramatic countertenor voice, which can handle more brass... it's a beefy part. Really fun!! I will be posting more from this soon...
