Where are you buying your O rings from? I found some from Ace Hardware but at .79 cents a piece you end up paying more than you would for a Thingamabobber...
I used orange mcfly foam and an O ring with great results. It's a good indicator for slow water nymphing but if your planning to add alot of weight say on a steelhead egg fly or something you might need an artificial indicator for fast water and heavy weight. Good fishing!

You can separate and comb the material before you cut it off. This gives you a lot better handhold while combing.
