  • Great video :)

  • Here is a nice method. Like Quincy Jones said. Put ur music on a small speaker and see what it does. I work with what I have. Take your PC speakers and turn the Sub Woofer all the way up and the Volume like 1/2 not 2 loud. If using Protools. Enable ur Mono Start Mixing. 2 hear your effect like, Disable your Mono. Tip. You can't Mix what you can not hear. I left you my secret because most people don't read. If this doesn't work. Go 2 the store and spend tons of money and still be up-set.

  • Wow. Your are the truth. I have a small recording studio with 2 KRK Monitors Rokit 8 that cost about $250.00 each and 2 B52 Loud Speakers,$ 1,000 Each And a set of Small Boston Computer Speakers that came with my old 1998 Gateway. Out of all my money spent. Guess which one give me the best results for mixing and mastering. If you said Computer Speakers Your correct. It's what the industry has told us to do. B52 Loud Speakers with give you the Pump. Then your PC Speakers will let you Here.

  • If you think this video is too quiet, you are mixing too loud.

  • everyone doing any sort of audio production should watch this. bruce swedien is spot on.

  • Dude, you should take better care of yourself - we need you around.

  • wow i am going to call grace recording right now listen to this amazing sound quality think of what they can do for your bands sound!

I think they are taking his "primitive" concept a little literally!

  • Yes even the master of all engineers agrees. Focus on great songs and screw all this crap about how sophisticated your DAW is and how many plug ins you use.

  • Why would you want to pan the audio completely to the left channel?

  • @Braxl91

    because its primitive :-)

  • My respect to this great man and his words of wisdom. Although the sound quality of this video is pretty bad, considering it's coming from a recording studio!

  • @MyNameisRichGreen. He did write a book Rich. It's called "Make Mine Music" I purchased my copy at Guitar Center.
