  • hickok, youre camera angle on the close ups sucks! you need to put the camera guy facing the guns where you are standing or you need to place the guns facing toward him. Its really annoying.

  • i like the thicker slide, I like bigger guns

  • PLEASE HELP should I get the gen3 or gen 4 glock 21? Thanks for your help

  • Brother, thanks for making excellent videos. You are always professional. All others posting videos to youtube would do well to take notes on your presentation, speaking, and general attitude. Cheers-

  • That's a waste of good juice lol!

  • trigger is def the diff between the two. i got a 40cal xdm and the trigger makes me push the gun when i pull trigger. something i got to work on

  • Sorry, but I gotta go with the Glock. Too many safeties on the xdm.

  • iam a glock fan but the XD has all the features of the 1911 and glock put together cant complain about that. Good video hickock

  • How's that...?

    Well....the barrel is dead...

Jug probably live to fight another day...

    Winner? Jug.

  • whats a cast bullet?

  • My Glock 21 will often jam (stovepipe) on 185 gr jacketed hollow points, but rarely on 230 gr ball.

    My Glock 36 (sub-compact .45) eats ANYTHING!

  • glock trigger VS Ed brown trigger(or 1911 trigger)

  • why ??? led is softer than copper

  • I have watched many of your vids, it seems like you are a lot more accurate with the glock 19. I know everyone talks about stopping power with the .45 acp, but which would you rather have if you only had one?

  • I have a queasion about reloads do you need to crimp them or not on. 45 acp and 9mm I have herd that from a few friends

  • These are factory cast bullets..... Wink Wink...

  • All Glocks are made in the USA since 2004. In 2012, you will start to see "Austria" replaced with "USA".

  • @ProxStud huh i didnt no dat. cool

  • would like to know if you could do something on the springfield armry m-21 tactical rifle .308,hickok45

  • @ILITTHEWORLDONFIRE I just learned this when I took my Glock Armorer Course. Glock's are 100% made in America. They are great guns with some innovative engineering that forced other manufacturers to rethink things. I still love my Beretta 92FS but the Glock is what I carry,

  • @ProxStud The parts aren't 100% made in America there just assembled here.

  • @FullmetaljacketJ Glock moved all Manufacturing machines to the US and spent lots of money configuring them for the plant in the US. Glocks are not manufactured or assembled anywhere but the USA today. This is straight from Glock instructors during my Armorer Certification Course. They told me that in 2012 you will start to see USA replace Austria on the slides. Just passing along the information I was given.

  • @ProxStud Yes maybe from here on out they will be "manufactured here" but that makes 99% distributed so far not American made remmington pulls this same this with there triggers and steel.

  • @FullmetaljacketJ All I can tell you is what Glock told me. Since 2004, Glocks are 100% made in the USA. Manufactured, Assembled and Shipped around the world from the USA. I will keep my eye's open for the "USA" branding this year during Gun Shows. I was only sharing what Glock told me in the class. The largest market for Glock is the USA by huge margins so they moved here.

  • So Springfield and Glock do not allow you to fire hand loads out of them without voiding warranty? What kind of crap companies do that? I mean I just dont under stand the logic there, from what I know my Wilson combat I can ask Wilson what kind of load does well in it and they will send me the specs. I am confused as to how two other companies that are supposedly so great don't allow you to fire handloads, can you please explain that?

  • @hellfang1717 it's just lawyers CYA talk.

  • @hellfang1717 You must understand that Glock and other manufacturers create guns for the Military and Police. They are not custom guns and therefore they must manufacture lots of guns with safety standards to meet certain criteria. This does not mean they won't shoot custom loads, but they must have a safe guard or standard to go by if they are to sell these in mass to certain types of organizations.

  • Can you shoot steel cased ammo in the glock?

  • @jigsaw183 yes

  • would u trust this gun with your life realy thinking of get one

  • @mrsdalton07 I trust my life to a Glock everyday and 70% of Police and Military trust Glock with their lives everyday. Great engineering, simple design, amazing reliability and easy maintenance make it a great gun. Some other modern polymer guns are also great choices. Put them in your hand and choose the one that feels best to you and you can shoot well.

  • @ProxStud your're not talking bout US military are you because they do not use glock as a standard issue weapon

  • @ClarenceRichardson36 No. I was just saying that 70% of Police and Military around the world use Glock as the standard issue weapon. I am a former US ARMY M1A1 Tank Gunner and my duty handgun was the Colt 1911, but that year we switched to the Beretta M9. I have the civilian version of it, the Beretta 92FS and I still love it.

  • XDS, .45, 3.3"... ready and waiting for my next EDC ;) About time one of the big names stepped up to the Kahr sized arena. Thanks for another great review old man :)

  • XDM MADE IN CROATIA <3

  • @domycrodubrava Vote Down

  • @domycrodubrava Springfield XDm's are designed in the United States. Just assembled in Croatia.

  • @pan89thersfan Actually not true. The Springfield XD was designed and made in Croatia for the Croatian military. Springfield started importing them and changed the name. They were made by "IM Metal", and were called a HS2000 before Springfield brought 'em over.

  • is that made in croatia on the grip

  • @elvkard yes it is, XD is name only in america, in Europe is called HS 2000 witch means "hrvatski samokres"(croatian handgun)

  • the xdm has more muzzle flash

  • @infinitelimitation The XD also has a higher bore axis in comparison with the Glock which could cause more rise between rounds.

  • Glock 21 is sexy, but the Xdm 45 is even sexier.

  • I just looked at some nib xdms at a gun show they had rust on the stainless steel slides.I never seen any rust even on the older gen 1 Glocks.

  • Glock's grip angle is nice. When I point the Glock, the front sight isn't obscured by the rear, or the back of the slide; it's always on top. But it seems the sub-compacts (26, 27) have a smoother or softer break, than the compacts (19, 32, 30) I've picked up. Doesn't jar the sight picture. Maybe they have less over-travel or a lighter trigger than other models? That said, other Glock triggers are fairly smooth in that regard.

  • @ftxpanding It's all training. You can learn to shoot any gun with enough practice. Grip angle to me does not affect my shooting. You can give me all types of guns with different angles and the same basic principles of shooting apply and I can hit the target. Sight Alignment, Trigger Control. Works every time. If you gave me a pipe with a rear and front site, I can hit the target.

  • How big is the chance of us seeing you shoot a USP 45, a HK45 or a mark 23?

It would be really nice to see you shoot it, and give your thoughts about any of them. I understand you get a lot of questions like this one, so just asking about how big the chance is of us one day see you shoot one of them. :)

  • nice shooting sir.

  • Here is a fact for ya, not an opinion..... the xdm .45 is $200 more than the glock 21.... So I guess if your on a budget, go with the glock..... Other than that it's all just personal preference.....Man, I love my Springfield Xdm .45..... But really guy's, they all go boom and are alot of fun..... Be safe evrybody..... I'm out !!!

  • You're the man, hickock! While the XDm is a glock clone (glock is the gun to beat) the XD does have its own appeal. I own a SA XD myself, and am perfectly happy with it. Thanks for the video, sir. I'm a big fan!

  • I don't understand why people just can't enjoy the gun porn that is your youtube channel.

How you get any dislikes is beyond me... Haters are going to hate.

  • great video, i enjoy all your videos especially the ones on XDM's because i have one. but like you said its prefrence. ive fired glocks and i have trouble getting use to the grip and not to fond of them although i shot the new glock 17 gen 4 and did like it a lot but i love my XDM 45.. love the trigger pull the recoil the look.. just a great gun overall and ive shot many different kinds.. again great video!

  • Overall, the Glock is a more solid gun IMO, though the XDM is not bad either. ;)

  • Sweet range! Ever give out any guest passes?

  • Please Review the HK45C......HICKOK45 ;)

  • @BLOODHOUND528 I agree.

  • Would you say that the XDM has a higher bore axis? Looks like muzzle flip is less with the Glock. Any input?

Also you comment on the fact that you like to stick with one type of gun. Are most of the XD and XDM guns as similar to each other as the Glock platform is?

  • @BIGNASTY57RDV, Thanks for your opinion.

  • @BIGNASTY57RDV bullshit glock is 100 times better also 4th gens are way more reliable than xdm

  • @BIGNASTY57RDV People buy Glocks because they are popular. They became popular when there weren't many polymer guns out. The man who designed the Glock made huge improvements but Glock did not want to change so he went to Steyr and made the M9A1. The steyr is a far superior gun to the Glock. I shot Glock and XD and the XD was much more accurate and consistent.

  • @BIGNASTY57RDV Because everyone cares that you have an opinion

  • @BIGNASTY57RDV Actually I had the XDm and sold it to get a Glock 21. I prefer the Glock much more. These are what we call opinions. Same goes for my XDm9, I now have a Glock 17. The XDm's are great guns, I just think that the Glock is a better gun for me. Lets try to keep that in mind, that your opinion isnt always the right one.

  • @BIGNASTY57RDV how is that???lol..glock is proven..

  • glock all the way.....another great video.

  • I have been observing something. Hickok45 uses his left eye to sight with while shooting right handed. I know, I know, we all know this! my observation is that he shoots better with his orange ear plugs in. his muffs are not letting his head lay over enough. watch a pistol vid with the orange earplugs and then watch this one. you'll see what I mean.

  • 26 minutes my internet is sooo slow! but totally worth the wait.

  • it's time for the retirement home aye

  • @crplll funny because i dont see you putting yourself on youtube doing this kind of stuff.

  • learn how to shoot old man. that or just give up

  • I love how you can see the powder burns on the slide, your camera picks up everything.

  • Did Hickok45 just say sexy?? epic

  • Great vid im stuck on this very dilema glock21 or xdm45 and i need to make up my mind in the next few days.Ilike both almost the same i have the same thoughts on the trigger it tends to make me want to pull down also. Id buy both but id prolly have to sleep on the couch for a little while. Honestly the only deciding factor i can find is the nice case and the extras u get with the XDM :-)

  • so cool

  • I actually went to the kitchen and poured a glass of cranberry juice after he shot that jug in the beginning...

  • I own & carry an XD40 & I love that gun.? I own a Glock 21 as well when I bought my Glock 21 the XD45 was not out as of yet,& maybe I would of bought one instead of the G21 which I am happy with also.? As usual Hickok45 your reviews are always great Honest & to the point.? Keep up the good videos, & Thanks again.?

  • Comment removed

  • Just bought a glock 21 yesterday. Anyone have any good ammo suggestions?

  • is he shooting up good kool-aid? not cool hickok

  • How far is the gong?

  • Is it just me, or is this guy an excellent marksman?

  • i have shot an XDm .40 S&W it was one sweet pistol

  • @peytonthegunnut own the xdm .40. amazing gun

  • hickok45 ur video's are awesome! i own a Glock 23 and XDm .45 4.5 bitone both guns are fantastic!!! i'm curious to know which gun I should get next?? i'm thinking subcompact maybe a kahr? later man

  • It's not about which ones are better in my opinion. Both of weapons are great all purpose firearms. I currently own a xdm 3.8 in 40 cal, chose it over a gen 4 glock 23. To this day I will recommend a Glock and an Xdm to anybody, which ever feels best in your hands is the winner.

  • I purchased the XDm 45ACP and my experience led me to the conclusion that I should sell it and move on to a more dependable firearm.

SA claims that the XDm is good to go for shooting lead. Well guess what. That's a load of crap. Although the barrel looks to be machined very nicely, its bore is unusually tight. On my 1911's the bore measured .451 and .453.

The XDm bore is .450. Very tight for shooting comm. hard cast lead.

Magazine springs were worn out after 6 months. No parts available.

  • Awesome intro!

  • that grip safety is a requirement to the newer handguns for us californians, sorry................fucking hate this state

  • I own a Glock, and what is not to love about it? However, in a different caliber, especially in 45, I'm grabbing the XDM. They took everything that was great about the Glock and improved upon it. The only thing that worries me about the Springfield is how fun it is to shoot.

  • @mexmiler, Just turn down the sound next time. :-)

  • @hickok45 Lol, good idea. In all seriousness though, I enjoy your reviews, but as an XDm owner, I really appreciate when people make the effort to distinguish between the XD and the XDm. Thanks for the vid.

  • @mexmiler I cringe when I see "Springfield Armory USA" stamped on the side of the gun and on the top of the slide: "Made in Croatia."

  • @mexmiler

Lol, yeah, the (M) really is a different gun all together from the xd

  • I think i will go for the xdm i already own a glock 17 but want a 45 as well.. I chose it over glock because the barrel it comes with u can shoot led out of. I cant find a dAm barrel in canada for my glock and usa cant ship them here:(

  • Glock all the way. The xd is a sweet gun don't get me wrong I just think the Glock over all is the better of the two.

  • At 17:55, the deadliest man ever was on the screen.

  • I like your videos as well. I actually use them to decide wether or not to buy a particular firearm. I actually just bought the XDM .45 this morning because of your video.

  • hickok45 i am wondering opinion on what gun i should get i want to get a glock 23 but i don't think that the trigger safety is safe enough. i have i Beretta m9 i am use to switching the safety on and off in your opinion should i consider buying a glock 23.

  • Some of these folk need a class showing them how to proof read their comments before they post same.

  • I'd have to say I've learned more about pistols, and had more fun learning about them, from your videos than any other source. Great stuff.

  • Thanks ,I value your opinion and have been looking at the XDM 45.Now I feel comfortable to go and get the XDM.Thanks again.

  • i think the xd serious coll but i too like glock

  • i like the Glock 21 4th generation. the one you have is the old school g21 then.. :D. Cool glock. Glock perfection is true..

  • Is no the slide is thinner you meant to say narrower....

  • GLOCK is behind the have not done much in innovations since the original model. The gen 4 is basically the same very austere modifications and basically same look and plastic feel...

  • @granputon01 Great review.....hopefully nobody listens to it. Have you heard of the term if it aint broke, don't fix it? Why would they change anything as far as a glock is concerned when it is the most reliable handgun non-revolver? People buy glocks because of reliability, trigger saftey, looks, and feel. Glock isn't behind in anything except claimed by people who bought a XD/M instead of a Glock and feel bad about it.

  • @kubstix XDM all day

  • @kubstix I agree, if it aint broken then don't fix it. Thats why I still go 1911 lol. I know you were being serious but I just had to throw that in there,

  • 1911 is the best 45

  • XDM is a moderdized GLOCK style pistol with good safeties..Glock is now behind in features, design and ergonomics in compare to HK, Walter, Sig. The GLock feel is too plastic and artifical specially the trigger feel is cheap and plastic feel

  • XDM is a moderdized GLOCK style pistol with good safeties..Glock is now behind in features, design and ergonomics in compare to HK, Walter, Sig

  • dos any one know the effective range of a glock - effective enough to put down a attacker ? : )

  • how dare you waste my favorite hawian punch.... just kidding good shooting hickok

  • sorry wrong link:

    youtube.com/watch?v=jOttm8G_4lw&feature=youtu.be

  • here is that video response you wanted. its using a p238 pocket pistol at 15 yards. i will see if i can get him to upload some competition stuff.

    youtube.com/watch?v=jOttm8G_4lw

  • So would you say the XDm is better than the xd, or is it a looks thing or just marketing....

  • @Weponcollector16 you are right sir not just because hickok45 asked it but i should not talk negative about anybody unless im telling it to them and them alone because nobody should create a neg opion of someone on my opion I do take back my comment about nunfancy and apoligize also dont critize my spelling. ha

  • Great vid sir I just bought a xd9 yesterday I chose it over the glock because of the smaller grip but I will soon buy a glock also. Not to sound like a kiss ass but you and tnoutdoors are my fav gun reviewers on YouTube y'all are a lot better than that hack nunfancy

  • @jnpiel Hickok45 and Tnoutdoors9 are my favorite gun enthusiasts on Youtube as well. I would like to point out that Hickok has said numerous times not to bring up other Youtubers in a negative or provocative way. Aside from that I agree about Hickok and Tnoutdoors :-).

  • I have had the XD 45 I did not like the rear safety, I also have the glock 21 I will say this, I no longer have the XD.

  • I would like your opinion on the glock 21 sf and the g30 sf. I have both of these guns and have never shot the regular 21 and 30.

  • i actually think your videos are quite informative

  • @sniperUSMC00, I don't really care who agrees with me or not, and I really don't care why YouTube was created. I just try to avoid our videos becoming a venue for "know-it-all" trolls to get some publicity and a stage. It's bad enough when you run into "Gunstore Commandos" in a gun shop looking for an audience; it's especially obnoxious when they know they'll have a large audience for their "expertise" here. Very tempting for those who can't get anybody to listen to them elsewhere. :-)

  • @hickok45 I agreed to an extent - I also think some folks that make videos are putting out misinformation. That was my point about youtube - it goes both ways. You get trolls but not everyone is a troll. Some and I stress "some" do have pertinent information.

  • @hickok45 I can imagine you Hickok45 eating your Cherios and having your Thompson 45. by your side looking and thinking what you going to do with that pumpkin looking at you wrong. LOL. :-)

  • Could you do a full size Beretta PX4 Storm .45ACP review?

  • wish you do a video on the fnp 45 i think it is better glock 21 xdm 45

  • @wadealancarlson He's actually wearing a springfield armory cap, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe both the Glock and XDm are represented...doesn't seem biased in terms of clothing like you pointed out. Just sayin'

  • good video...not boring lots of information about both guns

  • All I need to know is which one will kill more zombies? :)

  • Hey Hickok (or anybody else with firsthand knowledge)- I'm on the fence between the Springfield XDM .45ACP and S&W's M&P .45 ACP, probably just for home security/range shooting. I've seen your reviews on both, as well as others here on Youtube. Do any of you have any preferences either way? I plan on obviously checking both out thoroughly before any purchases, just wondering if anyone had any strong opinions one way or another. Thanks and keep up the informative videos!

  • Glock 21 FTW

  • I can't believe you cheated on your glock like this.

  • @semiautoriflelover1 well the glock was present during this so the glock aperently didnt care to bring another firearm into the relationship

  • Greg what do you think is the best Target load for a glock 21? I don't have much experience with a .45.

  • can you use glock21 mag to xd45??

  • XD, XD(m) so much better in my opinion. Slide on the Glock comes to close to snipping my hand during blow-back. Better features and looks...

  • I'm like you Hickok. I'm all Glock. It's what I've gravitated to, and it's the only hand gun I need in my life. Glock and Roll baby!!

  • I can see there are quite a few idiotic comments on this video.

  • Great video Hickok! I'm looking at getting the XDm .45 and was curious how well it shot so this video was very informative! Just a side note, my hands are huge and I grip high so the Glock pinches me when the slide returns to battery and the back strap on the XD prevents that...

Also, how far away is your gong?

  • dá pra desgraçar um...

  • Should have tested the M&P with these pistols.

  • True love is a .45 acp! Please do not tell my wife, ok the Xdm is sweet and the Glock 21 is just fine!

  • love your vids hickock 2nd to none.

  • lol hump

  • I had an XD45 that I really tried to like. My main complaint with it (I also have an R.I.A. 1911) is the muzzle flip. I tried to strengthen my grip and just could not control it. I now have a Glock 21 I should be able to pick up tuesday (Maryland seven day wait). Unfortunately there is nowhere for me to rent handguns so we will see. The Glock's barrel is "closer" to the grip of the gun so I am hoping that will make a difference. Crossing fingers...

  • @GiggityZZ Your a doushe

  • I want to shoot at your range...It looks fun

  • Lol at 20:36 I hear piggies!

  • Lol at 20:38 I hear piggies!

  • I like this Hickok cat...he's informative without talking a hole in your head, he's easy to understand, doesn't go all 'Rambo' even though he's talking about guns.

  • @GrumpyBlack I agree. He keeps it in Laman's terms. Some gun nuts have to use so much ballistics and weapons lingo during the vids. Makes me sick. Everyone's not an expert, so make vids for the simple folks like HIckok does! Love ya Hickok!

  • @ hickok45 I just bought the glock 21sf for my first handgun and love it. I was surprised how quick and easy it is to take it apart and clean it. You always say positive things about them and now I see why. Keep up the good shooting.

  • i noticed you wore a springfield armory hat and a glock shirt,

non biased indeed. Thnx for enlightening us!

  • glock has less recoil

  • @ivaneen honestly tell me thats a joke?

  • @hickok45 well yes im young, but u still didnt answer my question lol

  • @GiggityZZ Thats because your question is so disrespectful and ignorant, it doesn't deserve an answer.

  • @kalo96792 umad?

  • @GiggityZZ You an idiot?

  • Comment removed

  • I love my Sprinfield XD9.m 5inch barrel but that XDm 45. Is just gorgeous.

  • isn't a "cocked indicator" virtually useless? If a round is fed into the chamber then it should be cocked, barring a jam or gun malfunction.
