Equality is tyranny! Jefferson's "created equal" phrase applies only to fertilization. After fertilization the result is a unique Individual living in a relativistic universe where equality is only an abstract concept. Education in: virtue, Individual Rights of "Life Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness," free market, and free republic is vital to any Civil Society reconciling the differences of humanity. Many ideologies tried equality and failed, such as Marxism, etc.
"Things change. Progress. It is the way of humanity. The way of growth...I want to be standing on the right side of progress: the side of truth, the side of compassion, the side of equality."
Why is that the side of truth? My question is, What is the side of truth? What is truth? Homosexual rights is truth?
It's not just about homosexual rights. She is saying that progress is the way of humanity. There have been oppressed minority groups in the past whose civil rights have been withheld, be it African Americans, jews, Asian Americans, or aboriginal people. There are parallels to be made between these civil rights movements and the gay rights movement. In all of these circumstances there were the people who stood against progress, and didn't want the discriminative laws to change.
The truth that she speaks of is a concept that some find hard to grasp: that we are all the same. Gay, straight, black, white, asian, aboriginal, jewish, christian, hindu, muslim, man or woman. We are all the same, and we deserve equal rights. There have always been, and there will always be people who stand in the way of progress. She doesn't want to be one of these people. Just because it seems okay to discriminate against gay people now, doesn't mean it will be okay in the future.
another broad talking out her arse and making a dime on non-issues, i hear she ain't even Native American so her claim she is a princess seeking asylum is a bit hollow but considering the collective IQ of the black caucus she has a future
I'm just wondering, in her list of those deserving equality....why didn't she mention the weakest and smallest of our society? Why didn't she mention equality for the unborn child? Don't we ALL deserve LIFE, liberty and the persuit of happiness?
I saw her at a poetry reading in NYC and just fell in love with her work!! I'm even more excited now!! =D Such a powerful speaker with beautiful words.

(cont.) Just as racism is discouraged today. She wants to be on the right side of progress. The side of this truth: we all are equal.

At the NEM she explained why she is here seeking asylum. When she came out as gay, 11 boys raped her

that only shows how truely fucked up men are. men are no good for always have been always will be because they are anatomically confused & unloved.

no all she wants is equality for herself. she is just as greedy and corrupt as a politician. equality on earth is impossible and will never happen
helyeabiotch 2 years ago
complete equality will probably never happen, but that doensnt mean you should stop aiming for it.
