  • So glad I saw this!!! I've always been taught NOT to touch the bristles as the oils from your skin "ruin" them : D

    You are the bomb.com Robin.

  • How do you remove nail foil glue, with soap and water or acetone or... what?

  • Ty so much!

  • So just soap and water?will acetone or monimer mess up art brushes?

  • @79JesusFreak i use acetone for my art brushes when i am using polish or want them cleaned well and soap isnt cutting it....i never wash my monomer brushes with anything. i use them and lay them flat after i apply acrylic....i never use monomer brushes for nail art...2 separate things.

  • ill try it thanks:D!

  • Love it

  • LOL NAIL STRIPPER XD . Thats funny .

  • Hi MissRobinMoses I was wondering if you ever do natural nails? I've had a horrible habit of nail biting but have stopped for months now and have grown nicely just wondering if you have any "natural nail advice"

  • WHERE DO YOU BUY YOUR BRUSHES?

  • Robin, hi hun. When we take our brushes and set them in the soap...we don't rinse the soap out first, before it dries?

  • @SandyzSerious nope..the soap dries in........then your brush is 'stuck' in position over time........then, before you use your brushes you always rinse them out...and start your day :D i know this sounds horrible but at night if i know i am done, if my brush has polish in it...i use the polish as soap and shape my brushes with the last polish i use...let it dry in that position over night and use acetone to 'wake it up' the next day.. :)

  • @robinmosesnailart Thank you Robin.

  • i didnt know that exist stripper brushes lol

  • That thing with the soap.. could that work for my acrylic sculpting brushes too? :O

  • Hahaha nail stripper :D

  • Okay, quit boinging that stripper, lady! lol! I would totally buy somthing useless just because it had a misspelling like that too, high 5! And I'm so glad you covered brush reshaping, 80% of mine are fraying and I was watching this specifically to see if there was a fix! Love ya lots, xoxo!

  • Hey robin I'm 12 could u give me tips on nails?

  • @5peanutsNailArt practice..............watch all of these videos in my FAQ'S..............if it is your passion, always try and beat your time...the faster you get the more money you will make. practice with a clock near by. try and do better nails each time with a faster time and never ever ever do nails if you are not having a good time....always laugh and make others laugh and if they bring you down, drop them right away.......always bring positive people to you :) i hope this helps :D

  • @spphr308 hey spphr :) i have one! its in the favorites videos!

  • Robin, where do you get your brushes??

  • @xxrawrrnstuffxx walmart and nail swap meets. 1.00 each :)

  • OMG Robin!! i've NEVER EVER seen the soap tip anywhere!!!1 i got a brush set and some of my brushes arn't in shape anymore!! i'm gonna try this tip 2moro!! THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH and a BIG LOL for the stripper brush hahaha xD <3

  • @GooGoowa *huge hug* sorry it took so long to do that, but you are so so welcome googoo!

  • Pooshina1 has a great tutorial on the striped brush

  • @mszeverything thank you so much for all your comments :) huge huggs :)

  • thanks for the tutorial, Im gonna go get some brushes. btw you're funny! boyng brushes, haha! XD

    boyng boyng boyng

  • Hey robin, what brand of paint do you use. I have tried folk art, but they seem kinda transparent. I have to go over them twice to get a good color.

  • @qbanita14 add one touch of white to the transparent ones...you sacrifice color but you get opaqueness if thats a word...in place of it :)

  • Hey robin I really love your work. I check every day to see what's new. I would like to know what brand of paints you use. I find that the ones I buy are very transparent, I have to go over them twice. Keep up the good work. Your awesome

  • Can you tell the difference between the white, orange and brown ones and was the appropriate use for each one? For instance the browns are for polish or water base paint? Please advise

    Argy

  • @argynajera for me. all are appropriate for every thing i do. if i use one for polish, i clean it with acetone. and then if i need that same brush, i use it for acrylic paint and clean it with water and soap and dry it...then if i need it for polish again, i use it and clean it with acetone. i do not have 'special' brushes that just work for one thing...except my brush i use to put on the fake nails...that brush is ONLY FOR FAKE NAILS and its in another part of my desk.

  • @argynajera the difference between the white orange and brown are the length.......the longer, the less detail you can do....the very short ones dont work very well...the medium long ones are perfect 'for me' for what i do..and i wanted to show everyone my favorite length of brush. i hope this helps you :)

  • @robinmosesnailart cool can i use nail art brushes or do i have to get paint brushess? also how do you clean them just with alcohol?

  • @xpynkpanthurx you can use whatever brushes you feel comfortable using....nail art brush are paintbrushes except someone stamps 'nail art' on it and then it goes up 2.00. i dont clean them with alcohol.....i clean them with soap and water or acetone (if i am using polish) but usually i just have a cup of water i rinse them in and dry them and they stay very nice for a long time :):) i hope this helps!

  • @xpynkpanthurx sometimes...the cost goes down if its nail art brush too....see, its all the same thing. :)

  • @robinmosesnailart thanks ! i really want to learn like you do you are an artist! i

  • @xpynkpanthurx you are so welcome! i do this freely for you, in return...please tell everyone who is artistic and fun about my art :) i need your help :) *hugg* good luck!!!!

  • what brand are these brushes where can i get these exact brushes??? style number or brush name is helpful

  • @xpynkpanthurx yes. i understand...however.....the ones i have do not have styles or numbers on them.....lots and lots of brushes come without numbers when you go to huge beauty supplies and some art stores....what i do is feel through them and pick them out....if i were starting, i would find the right length..pick out the softest ones and then practice on paper..if the brush is working too thick (with thin paint) cut it like in the turtorial slowly...good luck!!! keep me posted :)

  • @xpynkpanthurx you do NOT have to rely on a brand or size..i want you to be able to find and pick your brushes whenever you find yourself in a pinch and need one and cant get to the right size..that happens...and if i dont have a brush, i cant make money...so, i have learned to work around sizes and styles so you can always have something near that works perfectly. all of my brushes work perfectly....one i use costed 79 cents.

  • what kind of soap do you use? : )

  • @spongebobber14 that soap bar was given to me by the singer of the four tops. hahahahahahahahah :) levi stubbs...rip...it was the bar soap that came in a hotel. any bar soap.

  • Thank you for responding. It has helped a great deal

  • @littleone1077 you are so welcome..i try ...i cannot get to all though :)

  • Hello Robin! I have been looking at your video on brushes. will you be able to tell us the sizes of the brushes please. Thank you in advance

  • @littleone1077 0 or 00 usually.........each brand varies so greatly in size...but very small and longer hairs like in the video....lots of brushes now dont even have sizes on them!!!!! if i ever find the perfect brush that is always available and works great and makes me happy for long periods of time..i am going to shout it out to the world..however, they are fleeting and i wish you the best of luck! in this video..the pink is what i use most.

  • Hey Robin, I thought I saw you briefly using regular 'paint' brushes with nail polish in some of your designs. If so, doesn't the polish ruin them or do you have a special way of cleaning them to keep them going? I'm just learning and I tried using regular artist's brushes with polish to do some stripes, dots, and whatnot, but I ended up practically taking an acetone bath trying to get the brushes clean—pretty much to no avail. :( You've inspired me to learn all about using acrylic paints! :)

  • @kitteesPJs i have a mendi acetone dispenser. you can buy an acetone dispenser very cheap on ebay.....nail liquid dispenser its called (mendi makes the best one) it dispenses small amounts of acetone. i run the brush back and forth and clean it out...if its natural hair, i condition it with oil once in awhile...if its synthetic, i shape my brushes with soap & rinse before i start my new day and keep a pretty good point on my brush. watch all of my brush keeping tutorials....i hope this helps!!!

  • hi, i know this is a late coment but i was wondering where you buy your brushes from? just a normal craft store or online from a nail art store? and i dont really care what make of brush it is, just wondering where to get them from. thank you :)

  • @StrangelyNamed i get them from craft stores, walmart, beauty supply stores, anywhere you buy brushes...its all about how they feel .....i tried to describe it as best as i could here, but each store and each brush is different and each person has a favorite that works best for them. the one i am working with right now i got from a small craft dept at a very small store where there was like 20 different brushes and i was like..'wow' thats a nice brush..it was 1.85 ::):)

  • @robinmosesnailart ohh ok thanks :) i know you live in america and i live in the UK but im sure i will find some, thankyou!

  • @StrangelyNamed you are so welcome and yes....i made my tutorial this way so i know anyone can find SOMETHING and make it into something 'better' that works for them :)

  • HEY MS. ROBIN, THX FOR THE BRUSH ADVICE, NOW I UNDERSTAND I DONT HAVE TO BUY THE MOST EXPENSIVE BRUSHES I CAN CUT DOWN THOSE IN MY VALUE PACKS AND KEEP ON TRUCKIN' =D

  • @letaj81 hey ms. leta! thats right girl.....practice and keep on truckin :) you will be jussst fine!!! :):)

  • great tutorial! but wait, is the acrylic paint used in nail art is the same with the acrylic paint used in other artworks like paintings, others? thanks. im a beginner :)

  • @nyxnailstudio yes..same paint! buy it in the craft store! very inexpensive and great selections of your favorite colors! start off with the colors i use though and add to the basics!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo thank you so much for watching!

  • tks......you are the best!!!

  • @iwalups you are very welcome! thank you for watching!

  • Hey I was just wondering where u buy ur brushes? Do u buy them online or what> sorry if u have answered this :P

  • @TotallyCoolNails um................there is no real answer.....ill tell you the truth, i bought my best striping brush off of my favorite nail art supply van in las vegas when i was guest artisting there. it was a super happy day for me. when i go to the craft store or beauty supply.... i always always always always check brushes, paint, and glitter..look for microbeads and stones..and scan for foil glue. it is a part of my life. sometimes, i find the coolest stuff ever. sometimes--nothing

  • @robinmosesnailart Lol i figured your answer would be kinda like that... thanks anyways :P

  • @TotallyCoolNails trust me when i say.......i have spent 30 bucks too many times on a name brand super king kolinsky russian sable blah blah brush and it was shit...it lost hairs after 4 washes and wouldnt point or bend right. and i have had 99cent brushes that work wonders.....you have to feel the bristles and make sure they are soft and 'flow"....:) you find and work those brushes girl!

  • @robinmosesnailart Haha well thanks, ill remember that. :P

  • i have a long striping brush like the second one you showed in this video...its a pain in the ****. tks for the info xxx

  • @iwalups yeah....how many swindlers make these crappy brushes and charge 10 bucks a piece for them???? it really irritates me to no end..........remember..the boingier, the cheaper and the worse time you will have. :) xoxoxo i am glad to help you, good luck!

  • Thank you so much for this video!!! Have a great weekend.

  • @michelle198107 you are so welcome and thank you!!!!!! i will try very hard :)
