@GALLERIEVONDADA you are a slave of nature when nature tells you to eat you eat when nature tells you to sleep you sleep when you need fluids nature gives you water. Nature gives you life and nature takes this life away
Consider few philosophical idea-facts: Nature is made of patters, everything is patters... We can only learn by understanding patters... Chaos is not opposite of patters... Chaos is a patter itself... Chaos describes patters on indescribable randomness... ... So everything is patters... There is patter of how vegetables are arranged in your soup... It was created by the way you mixed your soup in while cooking, and by the gravity which puts the down in the plate... (This movie is profound).
Darren Aronofsky was gonna direct "The Wolverine" but due to the fact that he was gonna be in Japan for a whole year away from his family and he was going through divorce problems with Rachel Weiz
this movie made me want to learn more about math and go to sunday school... It made being a mathematician look cool. I'm going to show this to my kids when they're young.

i once told a friend that everything in this world revolves around numbers and its characteristic and he went saying, "you must be out of your mind". But recently after watching this movie, im not the only one who things about numbers.
For that matter, try to digest this. Nothingness is the original state of mind and joy!
ive wanted to see this for a while, ive always been a little hesitaint when it comes to darren aronofsky just because his films are usually pretty peculiar, but now i'm understanding thats the genius of his films, you want to see how the next scene is going to be portrayed, or some variation of that, yet, requiem for a dream still scares the fuck out of me, I can't even watch the trailer for it, that movie seriously gave me nightmares for a week, and that was just the trailer
I was 14 when I saw this in 1998. I'm so grateful for Darren Aronofsky because this film gave me such an incredible perspective on the universe especially at an age when I needed it.
@xzas325 Oh yeah! I remember the first time I saw it at a friend's house. I had to leave the room and not talk for about 5 minutes. I've shown it to about 10 friends since, and they're all emotionally drained and stunned by the end. I REALLY recommend you watch it. Great performances, script, and direction. One of the best films ever in my opinion. It's #61 on best movies of all time on IMDB btw.
@BitchesCallMeTFree yeah, those are the best movies, definately, the ones that makes you just all stunned and freezed up and youre going through your mind for like 5 minutes in total silence, those are the movies youll always remember.and if this is one of those movies, then there is no doubt ill watch it.
@xzas325 Absolutely. Although they are the hardest to watch, they have the biggest pay off. You will never forget the climax of Requiem for a Dream. Very disturbing and depressing. Anyways, good luck with movie. I hope you like it :)
