Does it make the noise only at crtain rpms or is it constant. I have an 02 f4i with 11,600 miles on it. I knew the person very well that i bought it from and it was a babied machine. After i purchased it i noticed a rattle coming from the engine in every gear at pretty much exactly 5,000rpms. I have no idea what it could be. Its not super loud but its there and i don't want to drive it and cause more damage. Any ideas??? did u get yours fixed
@platko5920 i have an 06 600rr and mine makes the a rattle at 4.5k to 6k and i have been told the cam chain tensioners go bad in cbrs and thats what it is. im buying one if it solves the prob ill let you know. btw my bike has 28000mi and they have been near race conditions
@hondaridr I have an 06 cbr600rr also, 27k miles. The bike was also making noise.. once I changed the CCT it fixed the issue. Those OEM CCT's do go bad for sure! When your getting it changed, also ask the mechanic (or do it yourself) and check the cam chain and the guides.. If your bikes been in race conditions, the guides also sometimes go bad.
@macfahad changed the cct and everything worked out fine now i think i gotta replace the clutch. getting a barnett i think does anyone know if its a pain to change?
@hondaridr No, the clutch is straight forward. Im sure you have a wet clutch, drain the oil, open the clutch cover, unscrew main bolt and any supporting, remove the springs, and then each plate. Do you have a shop manual? It would come in really handy! will pay for itself the first time you use it!
@macfahad Nah the cbr is the only thing i dont have a shop manual for. i didnt know if there were any insane things that you tend to run into on the cbr.
