He was indeed bullied quite a bit by his classmates because of his weight issues and being gay. I can't comment on the cutting issue but I can totally believe it. Other kids in her class also cut themselves out of depression. The video was taped during the summer and things turned around for him pretty quickly after the video went viral and he became famous.

I used to get bullied, it got really bad for me in the 6th grade. The whole school hated me up until I snapped, and punched a kid in english class after he threatened me. When the teacher came back from the bathroom, virtually the whole class plotted and told her I started the fight. 2 students came forward and backed me up for the first time. The teacher believed me. She said that she had been paying attention to how bad I was being bullied, and thought it was about time I fought back.

I went through 4th to 8th grade with no friends. When I sat with people during lunch, they moved away. When they DID allow me to sit with them, they teased me relentlessly about rumors about me. I'd thought of suicide for a LOOONG time. No ten year old, or anyone, should be faced with that hatred. I still think about what I went through, and my heart goes out to Jonah.

I was bullied my whole life as a result never had any real friends. My social skills are somewhat lacking but I'm getting better: I decided to not care about the bullies, this led to my self esteem rising and eventually I made awesome friends and found love.
Fortunately I grew up in a loving enviroment, maybe being a girl helps in this case. And I want to say that if you were bullied, it must have happened because you are hot as hell, thus a threat to ugly and propably dump boys. I've been bullied almost all my life. I'm 17 and have been in and out of schools for the past 3 years. I left school early this year cause it was just to much and started to exclude myself from people. I stopped hanging with friends and started to bully others over the internet, simply because I didn't know how to talk to anyone about it. What Jonah has done is very brave and I can honestly say that if he was lying don't you think it would've been spotted in the first place.
I've stopped bullying over the internet and have found better ways to talk or tell people how I'm feeling.
Honestly I think that people who bully have been bullied themselves but just haven't got the brain capacity to realize that suicide in teenagers is due to bullies and other things.

In 6th grade I was bullied by several kids they would chase me around the school while teachers just stood and watched and when they caught me they would stab me with pencils or shoot rubber bands at me. One day I just hid in the bathroom all day because I was to terrified to leave two of them came in to the bathroom and one of them slammed me in between the stall doors while the other one shot rubber bands at me. When the teacher came back from the bathroom, virtually the whole class plotted and told her I started the fight. 2 students came forward and backed me up for the first time. The teacher believed me. She said that she had been paying attention to how bad I was being bullied, and thought it was about time I fought back.

I went through 4th to 8th grade with no friends. When I sat with people during lunch, they moved away. When they DID allow me to sit with them, they teased me relentlessly about rumors about me. I'd thought of suicide for a LOOONG time. No ten year old, or anyone, should be faced with that hatred. I still think about what I went through, and my heart goes out to Jonah.

I've been bullied almost all my life. I'm 17 and have been in and out of schools for the past 3 years. I left school early this year cause it was just to much and started to exclude myself from people. I stopped hanging with friends and started to bully others over the internet, simply because I didn't know how to talk to anyone about it. What Jonah has done is very brave and I can honestly say that if he was lying don't you think it would've been spotted in the first place.

In 6th grade I was bullied by several kids they would chase me around the school while teachers just stood and watched and when they caught me they would stab me with pencils or shoot rubber bands at me. One day I just hid in the bathroom all day because I was to terrified to leave two of them came in to the bathroom and one of them slammed me in between the stall doors while the other one shot rubber bands at me. Yeah, I was bullied by people in my secondary school cos I had stalkerish, weird psycho tendencies - I'm not proud of it :( (I'm partially autistic btw). Kids outside school didn't like me either and i think a group of em threw waterbombs at me when I left the bus.
