If they really cared about reducing CO2 they wouldn't kill the oceans. I'm guessing that a living ocean is highly oxygenated, and as it dies, will release more CO2 than all human activity combined.

This rig was one of the first to drill 30,000 ft below the soil, it was an experiment to tap the huge plumes of oil that feed the normal fissures we use.But they wern't expecting the pressures that came out of it 10,000 / 30,000psi blew the rig to hell. Russia was the first to do this but they did it on land (smart move) now we have what we have, an over zellous oil company that just killed the gulf. Thanks BP

There is no freakin' way they didn't know what kind of pressures were down there or whether or not it was a mud volcano, blah, blah, blah. Not with the technology they have available to them. But the best lie of all is the 'we didn't realize (or ignored) that the equipment wasn't functioning properly...' You know what? We were all born... but we weren't all born yesterday.

As to how much oil is coming out...well how much oil did this rig produce before the explosion? No one ever brings that up. How many barrels did it produce before? that will tell us how much is going into the gulf now....probably at a minimum too.

i saw a great view this AM.. from a distance and the plume was HUGE

if they are getting/collecting 18,000 B/D the actual flow is probably 3-4 times that amount= 72,000 B/D x 42 = approx 3 million gallons a day

Looks like a tank, like a large fish tank. Water seems clear. Also, the oil looks like it is being vacuumed up. It starts shortly to moved out, then looks like it is being pulled up.

A lot of this oil is floating under the water due to the dispersant they are dumping by the thousands of gallons to hide this from view. Crystal River which is not far from here has become cloudy. The springs are no longer visible in what is usually crystal clear water. The gulf is dying, the animals are cooking in oil. We can smell the crude on the west winds.

Anyone who sees this video can go to my channel, in my favs, and see two videos I laid out side by side. One of the oil leak, and the other of a deep water 'black smoker'... (Volcano hydro vents). They look exactly the same to me. Then everyone wonders why there are reports about this all being a volcano. You also know that there have been quite a few volcanos around the earth lately. @cbr6864 Exactly and good for you for noticing... Where is all that catastrophic oil? It's being burned perhaps like as is seen in this video by a underground volcano? Or perhaps they intentionally blazed it to prevent oil from reaching the surface? But then why try for a cap to suck out the oil? Sucking flaming oil up the pipes is not a smart thing to do right? i mean it was what caused the platform to explode right?

Barbarian, you got to this topic already before I did. I saw footage yesterday concerning the flames within the oil leak, but you said it yourself. It's not spewing out like a volcano... It's fire alright... No doubt about it though. They ARE giving everyone a 'key hole' view of what's really going on. They only show you what they want you to see...
