  • For those who don't already know it, David Bowie's son, Duncan Jones, is a self-taught movie director, whose premiere movie "Moon" (starring Sam Rockwell and the voice of Kevin Spacey, a la Hal in 2001: A Space Odyssey) which was nominated for 7 BAFTA awards (the British equivalent of the American Emmy) and for which he personally won 2. His current DVD release "Source Code" is equally appealing. There are certainly strong talent genes in that family!

  • I've always wanted to see this, being a fan of the album - thank you very much for sharing this with us.

  • Isn't the Ichthyosaurus water dwelling anyway? I wouldn't think the flood would bother it. Perhaps that's the whole point of that little speech...

  • This a very rare episode. Thanks for sharing.

  • I've never seen this before. What a jewel. Bowie is so talented. I have the BOWIE BAAL songs in vinyl and love it!

  • Dave, they are shuttin' down your links as I watch them so much. Just got the vinyl version going on variable speed. Great stuff. Michael.

  • God !! They sure made him look like a real scuzz in this,.. I can tell that already !! I'm not used to seeing Bowie look scuzzy.

  • Thanks a lot for sharing. Bowie is not only a terrific singer, he's also terrific actor.

  • Thank you for posting this, I'd read about it but I never thought I'd see it. I just love Bowie and always enjoy watching him.

  • bowie is a great actor !!! he is all rounded with everything he do !!!

  • Oh, Jesus, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

  • Some of his movie performances were terrible but he is a talented comedy actor and apparantly his Elephant Man peformance on Broadway in 1980 was amazing.

  • I guess I don't know what acting is- I found him totally captivating. I can't think of anyone better for the role.

  • @KaraBear567Well I dont know what he's like in THIS yet ( I'm just about to check it out ),.. but he's perfect in The Elephant Man and The Man Who Fell To Earth ! Maybe it depends on the rolle,.. right for some parts and wrong for others ?

  • @KaraBear567 Wrong... so wrong.

  • Many thanks

  • I've been trying to find a copy of this for over a decade. Thinks so much for posting!

  • Fantastic, thank you!

  • And I shan't get on board, either. This is a beautiful clip. Thanks for posting.

  • Awesome! Great share. This is really a great vid!!

  • How cool! Thank you so much for sharing it! I know that David Bowie was in that play, but I never could see it. As far I know this never was shown on german TV!

  • The Baal EP is one Bowie's finest works. Its the studio version of the songs. It's so underated but it ranks with anything he has ever done. Check it out. His voice is awesome!

  • I met Bowie in the Blitz around this time.

    A top production.

Bowie showing his range again, but i guess he mainly got bobbins scripts to consider.

Good he was picked up for the right stuff like this and Man Who Fell To Earth

    Thanks for posting.

  • holy cow I can not believe I would ever see or hear this again. superb posting. Havn't seen this since i tiny

  • thanks for the post coolcat - haven't seen this for years . I have the gatefold single

  • i remember watching this on bbc ,,i finally got a great copy on dvd this year

  • hey there, where did you get the dvd from?

  • There is a DVD of this?

  • Not an "official" one that I can find. I have a bootleg (OOPS! not supposed to say things like that.) Might anger the great corporate gods.) Can't say I like the production design. Far too realistic. But I guess the BBC didn't have much of a budget -- and what they had they probably spent on Bowie.

  • thnk you very muxh

  • I've got the album on vinyl...lucky old me!

  • I got this CD. Turns out it was severely scratched.

  • I can try to fix it for you, as I do this for a living. let me know if you still need help.

  • You're an engineer? Pleeease, tell me you're joking. I had it returned.
