For those who don't already know it, David Bowie's son, Duncan Jones, is a self-taught movie director, whose premiere movie "Moon" (starring Sam Rockwell and the voice of Kevin Spacey, a la Hal in 2001: A Space Odyssey) which was nominated for 7 BAFTA awards (the British equivalent of the American Emmy) and for which he personally won 2. His current DVD release "Source Code" is equally appealing. There are certainly strong talent genes in that family!
Some of his movie performances were terrible but he is a talented comedy actor and apparantly his Elephant Man peformance on Broadway in 1980 was amazing.
@KaraBear567Well I dont know what he's like in THIS yet ( I'm just about to check it out ),.. but he's perfect in The Elephant Man and The Man Who Fell To Earth ! Maybe it depends on the rolle,.. right for some parts and wrong for others ?
How cool! Thank you so much for sharing it! I know that David Bowie was in that play, but I never could see it. As far I know this never was shown on german TV!
The Baal EP is one Bowie's finest works. Its the studio version of the songs. It's so underated but it ranks with anything he has ever done. Check it out. His voice is awesome!
Not an "official" one that I can find. I have a bootleg (OOPS! not supposed to say things like that.) Might anger the great corporate gods.) Can't say I like the production design. Far too realistic. But I guess the BBC didn't have much of a budget -- and what they had they probably spent on Bowie.

Isn't the Ichthyosaurus water dwelling anyway? I wouldn't think the flood would bother it. Perhaps that's the whole point of that little speech...

I guess I don't know what acting is- I found him totally captivating. I can't think of anyone better for the role.

I met Bowie in the Blitz around this time.
A top production.
Bowie showing his range again, but i guess he mainly got bobbins scripts to consider.
Good he was picked up for the right stuff like this and Man Who Fell To Earth
Thanks for posting.
