Shut up and just enjoy this woman for who she is.....a dynamic, talented, gifted, ground-breaking skater who clearly had what was needed to get the job done. I love the british eurosport commentators, but this guy really gets under my skin. Is he BBC? He was an ass towards Bonaly all the time, and an ass towards Ito as well... forgive me, but who is this asshole? He just talks like he's not enjoying a thing.

The commentator was Alan Weekes, an extremely experienced (40 years) commentator who knew his stuff. Perhaps you prefer the Americans shouting all the way through or the Japanese commentators who don't even take a breath? Sadly, Alan is no longer with us but at least we have Nicky Slater/Simon Reed/Chris Howarth who put all other commentators to shame.

Maybe Alan Weekes recognised Bonaly's technical failings and 'cop outs' with landings? Let's face it, she got away with a hell of a lot.

@premierrules Thanks for letting me know who the guy was. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he knew his stuff, but there was no joy in his commentary. I totally agree with you that the Nicky/simon/chris are outstanding! I love listening to them; they truly are the best in the business. Wish there were more youtube clips with their coverage, b/c they have the best insight.

Its sad that in 2009 we still have ignorant racist people use the N word. If you do not like other races, why don't you live six feet under!!. Surya has always been a marvelous technical skater, artistically it was always was her downfall she is tried her best in that department sadly it did not come to full potential. I still love to watch her skate though.
