  • Lets not forget the telco linemen. We also work just as hard as the power linemen, on poles and in manholes. The difference is we have to splice thousands of small wires. Every phone line (or dsl line) needs a pair of wires to put the circuit through.

It's a great job. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

  • Heights up to 40 foot..... double that and add some more on some of the poles and structures i have climbed. and they shouldn show that guy climbing watching his feet and taking little steps down the pole this is a great job though i wouldn trade it for the world wife hates it but it pays for her shopping sprees!!!!

  • @jlineman2008 well my wife love my ot brother!

  • Stick your tongue on it, and tell me if it's live.

  • lol

  • i love this. this is my job, my life. and i wouldnt want to do anything else.

  • how much do they get paid??? cuz im goin to get trainned to do this

  • the best job ever! most people dont even know what a lineman is, they just think the lights will always turn on with a flip of a switch.

  • The people who perform this work are some of the most underappreciated folks on earth. They are in fact some of the truly greatest unsung heroes of our infrastructure.

  • when you are a lineman most people think you are a lazy overpaid schmuck until their power is out. Then you are their best friend, until the power is on again. A good way to shut them up is to hand them the belt& spurs and tell them to show YOU how to do it....

  • HELL YEA! no one appreciates how much training and hard work goes into that shyte!

  • i think they did good only real men can work long hours go anywhere's a crapy wheather yes i'm a power line worker and they pay me for every minute of my time !

  • this makes me want to join.

  • as per the oct. high voltage class in con ed that video sucked if you want to see good line work watch little freddy

  • Wow, I dunno. This is probably one of the worst recruitment videos I've seen. You want to sell a trade not talk about how hard it is, how horrible the working environment is, or how you have to be away from home for several days at a time working long long hours. :( I used to want to be a power line installer and repairer, but now... I think I'm going to find something else to do. Thanks for helping me not to make the wrong career choice, collegerecruiter!

  • That video is fucking buildshit! I hade work as an powerline worker for 3years, and this movie is far to glanzy! I have never worked on soo good conditions, there´s no snow, wind and is in the daylight...Bullshit movie!

  • wish my dad was around to see this................he worked for a power company in Ohio for 32yrs......and he sure did all that work, and then some.
