is this the best software that doesn't hinder the bass and drums? i have audacity and it sounds like crap. it removes the vocals along with the drums and bass.

@woody60647 You can save the project by hitting save, but you probably want to render the song out, correct? Go to file - render as. This will render the Vegas project into a new mp3 file, one that you can burn to CD or whatever.

@eyeheartthekillers You can cut the vocals out of certain potions of a song by using a feature known as automation. However, automation is kind of difficult to use properly. Also, you will audibly notice the switching back and forth between cutting out vocals and leaving in vocals.

Well, you would have to buy it, Sony Vegas is not free. However, Audacity is free and will also allow you to do this but it is a different program. Remember to bring the low end back in with the eq, most audacity tutorials leave this important step out.

I cant seem to find the invert function.

To open the audio tracks in vegas 6 you can use the quick command Ctrl + Q or go to insert - audio track.

I've never used vegas 9 but I can almost guarantee it has it. Go to the help index and search invert or polarity shift.
