  • @kcflexer The strongest guys aren't alwyas the biggest. And Kevin trains for strength not for size.

  • @kcflexer there is a difference between strength and size(hypertrophy), yes the two go hand in hand, but training approaches can target one or the other. strength training involves lifting heavy weights for low reps, size training involes lifting lighter weights for higher reps. strength training is going to increase muscle density and the number of fibres and not so much the volume of the fibres as size training would.

Even Ronnie Coleman only did 805 (I know, he's just a BB'er, but on the net people know him as "super strong" so I reference him). Now if someone asked about all the 800+ deadlifters in the world, I'd say probably about 200-500 people, but then a sharp drop off at 900. Even the WSM, the strongest dudes on Earth, very few of them can dead 900.

  • i was very impressed till the very end. form was a little iffy throughout, but with 900 pounds you can expect a little improvisation to get it up there. but the way he let it slam down at the end, he didnt even bend his legs a little. if don stop that the gona pop a vertibre. either drop it or do a reverse deadlift slowly. still very impressive, and 75 pounds more than me.

Only the lower back should be straight. The upper body should be relaxed. You don't need a straight upper back, you don't need to hold your head up and you definitely should NOT pull your shoulders back.

  • @ty99999returns try lifting 900 lbs and see if your back doesn't round over. unfortunately there's no way to maintain "proper" form when lifting insane amounts of weight, but in strongman all that matters is that you get it up. now you could certainly argue that it's not healthy, but I for one would be willing to take the risk if it meant that I might be called "worlds strongest man" one day. apparently Kevin Nee agrees...

  • @umbilicaltapeworm It's only his upper back that's rounded and that's on purpose. Pulling your shoulders back as most gym warriors do isn't the best way to deadlift. Your upper body should be relaxed. It's only your lower back that should be arched.

    You're telling me you only deadlift 190? On an average day in kilograms 220 is mine but I have pulled a lot more, 480ish in seppo terms. You're only as strong as your last lift. You should leave it to experts like Kevin before saying "anyone can do it"
