As for the future of two strokes brp and Polaris are building two strokes that will meet emissions and still perform with out weight. Point in case Polaris pro rmk how bout them four stroke chain saws
Erect has cleaner emissions than four stroke. As for power watch the power comparison and holeshot erect vs the sho as for durability look to the four stroke in my personal experience being that I have 2 yammi 450 dirtbikes the amount of valve adjusting and new heads in cost and time vs how easy and cheap a 250 rebuild is is cause enough Google the HP n torque for a say 07 450 vs a 250. Bout identicle HP and 4 stroke has a pound or two more torque.
@scorpionstinger400 Cat already builds the ATV motors themselves, and theydid the designing of the motor Suzuki built, though I think suzuki added some of their experience and tweaked the designs a little
The M1100 T is going to be the highmarking king, easily makes 300 hp with a muffler and a Tune..that's it. Theyre like 80lbs heavier than the new 800, and operate just fine on powder, watch the SOTY award. XF1100 SP wins the crossover division.
easy there boys. you sound like one of those guys that runs thier mouth in a bar and then i see you stuck the next day and side hill by you 4 or 5 times to get the point across. enough of that. typicall 4 stroke trail guy
@kyleryan141 Who you talkin to WILLIS. I ride an M8 2010. But ill take a 4 stroke turbo up thre NP. Actually come to revelstoke the MECCA of snowmobiling. And trust me most guys are on four strokes with turbos. Why you ask, because they last longer than a two smoke. Actually most of the biggest hill climbs at revy are done by guys on four stroke yammy turbos NOW. Again another you tuber thinkin he knows everything.. Ride with me and you will , HIT A TREE< BE STUCK AND BE LOST
@IveGotTheNuts Biggest hill climbs are done by four strokes?? Not anymore and Cory Micku is climbing them all on a naturally aspirated xp hahahahahahahahahahaha you can have your heavy four stroke your point and shoot sled give me a light weight sled that can do it all and is fun to ride.
@BichGod I got a turbo 8 idiot. But again come to revelstoke. Most guys are on four stoke turbos that are doing insane hill climbs. As they are more reliable that a two smoke turbo. But again im not a big four stroke guy. But all I was saying is on that run a Jackson give me a four stroke turbo and I bet I could make it up there NP.
@IveGotTheNuts And again Cory is doing those climbs without a Turbo just a BB see him own Burandt in slednecks 14?? hahahahaha. Again Cory is doing those climbs on a 2 stroke seen him two years ago at the Big Iron Shootout he was the first sled up those shoots in Revy that day. Come to Revy sure I ride there as much as poosible Hall,Frisby, Turtle I ride them all head down to the Norns once a year and of course Sicamous I will see you out there I will be at the top watching you at the bottom
@BichGod OK big gunner. LOL sure you do. Talk is cheap and anyone can make it to Turbo Hill on a FKN M6. Now try making it to the top of Turbo is another story. Lots of four strokes in REVY guy. Not sure when you were there LAST. Besides two SMOKE SLEDS are going to be obsolete in about five more years. Wait and SEE. They will ancient dinasoars and you will still be stuck in the eighties with your bleach blond hair. Look at moto cross that is where sleds are going
@IveGotTheNuts I stay at the smokey bear kathy and claytons place (right in front of the sled shed you know turbo al ?) you will find me there pretty much all of february and march come on by ask for grizz we will have a beer and you can tell me all about your 560lb cat. that makes 180hp. Then go for a ride and you cantry to impress me and I will show ya what a 470lb 174x3 BB and 50shot of nos can do lmao
@BichGod, hi there I must just ask a question. Do you really believe that a two stroke has any chans in a long steep pull like the extremes in revelstoke? I have a M8 and I chose that one because I think its a fun machine in hills and forrest but steep climbs against a 4-stroke turbo. About LMAO and NOS what does that do against a mod APEX with almost 400 hp? Continuous (4-stroke with Turbo) against Intermittently (2-stroke on NOS)
@TheExeland, I think the Industry is pretty tired of the 2-strokes also. Emissions and the fact that most engine constructors has abandon the 2-strokes. I think that BRP is the last Bastion of two strokes. If you look at Marine engines look up Yamaha VMAX SHO 250, 225 and 200 and they are lighter than the E-tecs. So I think the 2-stroke era is gone. Not only by emissions but the industry itself does not want it.
@m8pwa dude your an idiot! there is no way possible a four stroke could ever be lighter that a 2 stroke. more parts equals more weight!
Why would you think the manufactures are as you say pretty tired of the 2 strokes? they are cheaper to build, and they only warranty them for a couple months considering how short sled season is!Do yourself and all of us a favor and disable your keyboard whenever your surfing you tube!
@addrenjunky, so the E-tec 250 hp with what 3.3 litres could not be heavier than an Yamaha 250 4-stroke with 4.2 litres. Sorry bud The Yamaha is LIGHTER. So when you come down from that crack something I can tell you what... Its not how many parts, its what they are made of. About the cost, the cost is not only parts dummy, it is the whole line cost. The people, the equipment. So I bet that the Yamaha Genesis engine 4 cyl 4-stroke is not far behind small series 2-strokes. Consider MC production.
@addrenjunky So with the same amount of parts in the R1 and the old RX-1 and the R1 is still lighter with exhaust than RX1- was without. Alloys you stupid f***. All of you reading this, adrejunky or whatever is one of those who thinks that lead and magnesium alloys has the same weight.
@addrenjunky, about why they are tired of them, the main cost for building an engine is the personal cost as long you dont made them in china. The other is the engineering behind them. To get a new motorserie you have to put some money in. If you could use Motorcycle engines you cut that cost. If you build in bigger series... but you would never undestand.
@m8pwa it is clear that you ride a tank yamaha sled. They make good bikes, but yamaha sleds have been under achievers since the early 80 s. I will stand behind my first reply to you, 2 strokes rule!
@addrenjunky, sorry, wrong again. M8, 2-stroke think of it... I never owned a 4-stroke. The diff between my M8 and a M1100T is about 20 hp in fav for the M1100T. The weight diffrence My machine weight in at about 250 kg ready to run and the M1100T weight in on about 255 kg dry. So a little oil, cooling and little gas then you are up at 265 kg (very little gas). So redy to run The big bore 4-stroke (2012) is maybe 15-20 lbs heavier than my M8 2011. Not much! .
This stuff looks easy but your balls have to be extra large even to race let alone win. That sounded like a two stroke. I hope that was the new 1100 as I have one on order. I raced my last hill climb less than a week ago claiming 5'th out of over 40 sleds. I'm too old for this shit. Flat land drag races are my cup of tea starting next year. No more ball swelling runs up the hill for me!
@schoeds Pretty ignorant in front of your keyboard asshole! I said it sounded like a two stroke. I was only hoping the new sound of the 1100 turbo was like that. I'd love to have all your friends lined up that hill and let them read your ignorant comment then let them watch us race. Assholes like you never can back up thier big mouths! I'm not saing I'd be faster than guys like Tapio but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't even make it up the hill!
@kertbert1 Ill take a four stroke turbo up there any day. Damn I can push 350 HP outt of a yammy NP> Id rather have a few extra lbs anyways looks bumby as hell. Weight would just smooth it out IMHO> Most of the biggest climbs in REVY are down with four strokes now. Poeple who are not sponsored just cant afford the headache with two SMOKE turbos. I ride a stock M8 because I like my warranty no other reason.
@HKrider218 Actually you are wrong that is a 2012 HCR and it is modded . With a turbo. it was the only way they could run a 2012 HCR> trust me look up 2011 jackson hole hill climb arctic cat they explain it all. Or go to arctic cat website and look up the video of it. That s a turbo 2012 HCR Trust me I know what im talkin about. Tapio rode that sled. And like it says in the title 2012 HCR TURBO Tapio rode that sled to the top.
