@hobbydogs G1 Scorponok was in "The Rebirth", not TF:TM. This is also a different Scorponok, from the future. At this point they hadn't decided whether it was Earth or not (there were two moons) or made any connections to G1.

BW Scorponok ultimately died anyway.

@Xerock Some of them changed their names in the process. In their first introduction for example, Rhinox says "call me... Rhinox" with the implication it was a new moniker. Tigatron was previously known as simply "Unit 2".

@Godzillarulz Waspinator was fighting with Cheetor somewhere else while Dinobot got just shunned away by the other Predacons after he tried to overthrow Megatron ("The winner get the lead, the loser gets destroyed" according to him) because he doubted of his leadership. Cheetor and Waspinator will crash into the main battle then Dinobot will find the Maximals after the battle ta battle Optimus for the lead of the Maximals (likt the attemp with Megatron above), getting the cliffhanger for later.

Probably just to introduce the characters, because this is the first episode. As the show goes on they do that less and less, eventually not at all.

The code depends on the program shell (Maximaize for Maximals, Terrorize for Decepticons) Dinobot chaged shells and codes with each change, Rhinox got brainwashed by Megatron and changed code too, Silverbolt had originally a Predacon shell but changed when defected, Blackarachnia kept her shell until it reformatted with her Transmetal II change.

Ha. The order of transformations started out in a rather organized pattern (Predacon, Maximal, Predacon, etc.), but then Megatron messes it up by transforming ahead of Optimus...how typical of Megatron to mess things up.

you guys are all missing the MAJOR point. Beast wars, though unusual at first to G1 fans was made FOR G1 fans. following the story of the 84 cartoon that the autobots and decepticons landed on pre-historic earth before being awoke in 1984, the dinosaur megatron (predecessor OF megatron/galvatron) brought the predacons to earth for ONE purpose: to find the ARK with the transformers in stasis, KILL optimus PRIME (NOT PrimAL) and WIN the war for the Decepticons!

Altho it turned out massively epic and full of G1 mythology, it wasn't originally designed with those objectives in mind. TFs had basically wound up, which is why the "TF" part of the logo was de-emphasized. For example, the bios for the very first Beast Wars figures indicated that Optimus Primal and Megatron were new forms of G1 Optimus Prime and Megatron. They also hadn't decided whether it was set on Earth yet; they held destroying the second moon as an option if that's how they wanted to go.

Not much in the earlier episodes. The opening titles mention Transformers, but it's downplayed and less prominent, in a smaller font. Transformers had kind of fizzled out by this point and had even stopped being sold in many locations, so it's understandable they'd want to have Beast Wars stand on its own merits.

But eventually they started to weave threads of G1 continuity into Beast Wars such as Starscream's ghost and Ravage, and done particularly brilliantly at the end of season 2.

The Maximals and Predacons are the future descendants of the Autobots and Decepticons. Beast Wars "Megatron" and "Optimus Primal" are not G1 Megatron and G1 Optimus Prime. They both took their names after past great leaders from their respective factions.

Beast Wars was the first time activation codes had been used in the US animated continuity. The "Transform" code was not established in English-language Transformers until later, in Robots In Disguise.

Presumably directly from the Autobots, since they appear to have been the victors in the battle of good vs evil. The name seems to have emerged when they went through the Great Upgrade, taking on smaller, more efficient bodies.

Oh just to piss you off my American fellow, This is a Canadian show Created by Mainframe Entertainment. So you can stop pretending that you know everything about Beastwars or Transformers for that matter. Don't even try to say that this show is American, The idea was Hasbro yes but the show Is 100% Canadian as well as David Kaye who voices Megatron. Mr. Transformers G1 is Japanese LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

If being animated in Canada means it's "100% Canadian", then The Simpsons, G1 and TFA must be "100% Korean". Bob Forward and Larry DiTilliio, BW's writers, are both American. Hasbro are American. And I'm not.

"US continuity" simply refers to locale where it was developed and the primary market it was develped for, to distinguish it from Japanese continuity where activation codes appeared earlier.

The first G1 toys may be Japanese, but "Transformers" as a fiction and franchise is a US creation.
