Wow I can't get over how much this song like John Lennon's "I'm losing you". Nice song though. And I'll chime in on the Raul vs. Mavericks debate. I think The Mavericks ran their course. Sometimes it's a good thing to break up. The stuff Raul is doing now he never could have done with the Marvericks.
Both incarnations should be appreciated for what they are. Neither was better, just different.
Hi, CM. I know you are a part of the "Malo Mafia" as am I. : ) I was, and still am a huge fan of The Mavericks as well as Raul. I have seen him twice in the Chicago area in the last 6 months. I was just wondering if you had any more footage from this concert. Thanks for posting!
Have posted the other two songs The Mavericks sang on the video of "Party In The Park" See video responses above. Are you looking for performances from other artists on the dvd of the show? I can try to upload them for you. Let me know what you're looking for. The rest of the vid is not that great...except for Tom Jones...his bit is quite good.
Hi, CM. Thanks for the response. I didn't realize there were other acts at this concert. I thought perhaps it was a complete performance by The Mavs. (Although I do like Tom Jones.) I see you have posted several songs from their concert at The Royal Albert Hall as well. Your audio sonds great! "Dance The Night Away" is my all-time favorite song. I told Raul when I met him that when I die, I want that song played on a loop at my funeral. He seemed genuinely touched by that. : )
I'm hooked on this song,,,,,,but, I love anything this guy does,,,,,,I've said it befor,,,but,,Raul & Chris Isaak are SUPER STARS,,,,,,thats my message
It is so funny how people are obsessed with being right. Raul Malo sold more seats with the Mavericks,,,,blah blah blah..You couch surfers are more worried about his ticket sales than he his.
You are living in the past my man...Raul is doing very well indeed! His latest cd "Lucky One" debuted at #13 on this week's Billboard Heatseekers chart.
The song "Lucky One" is up to #5 on the Radio & Records Americana chart (#9 last week; #11 two weeks ago).
Watch last weeks appearance on The Tonight Show!!! He is at the top of his game.
I just saw him a week ago (Shelby Lynne opened) and there was not even 200 people in the club. Back when I saw the Mavericks (several times) they were playing 2000 seat venues. When I saw Raul last year, it was also a similar small club that did not sell out (maybe 150 in the audience). Chart position is not translating into ticket sales....
Chart position will translate into ticket sales. Folks buying the cd now, will go to the concerts when he travels to a venue near them! Sorry your show did not sell out, several shows this tour have.
Raul has had little promotion since he left The Mavericks. Now he is getting the attention he deserves.
He is a talent without equal. Brilliant voice, songwriter and guitarist.
Just saw Raul at Showcase Cinema at Patriots Place in Foxboro, MA and it was intimate and wonderful. He was very personable and he could communicate with his audience. I didn't follow him with the Mavericks and that's just as well as he is the man. He has THE voice.
Love it... that song rocks. And it reminds me of the summer of 98 when I found out about this great band. Discovering their sound and their variety of music was like breathing fresh air
I have seen Raul twice and each time I was blown away, the man is AMAZING!!!

These great songs bring me right back to the time of my high school dances in the 1960's
Great music !!

i agree that the mavericks were way better than just raul himself.

One of the best bands ever. Too bad they split up.
Raul Malo does not sell as well as the band did - he plays small venues now... where the Mavericks could sell out 2000 seats, Malo barely draws 200.
