I understand the pressures that come with delivering high class expensive food in the cities, the presentation the lenght of time it takes, Marco is actually demanding and militant, but it's done in a way that respects people unlike ramsey who has no respect for people., Ramsey is a puppet Demon but Marco is the Prince of Darkness when it comes to kitchens, and he knows how to get his point across without causeing the contestants to drown themselves
i believe that marco is naturally tough, stories i've heard are frightning! Gordon on the other hand is not naturally like that , in my opinion of course. I like both of them , cooking wise.
for some reason, i prefer Ramsay over Marco...even if Ramsay screams a lot (which i dont really like very much), still Ramsay seems more genuine and Marco looks like he's faking his whatever persona he is trying to display...i dont find Marco very genuine...but then, i maybe wrong...
@maxrimas haha well the genuine Marco would be 10 times more frightening than Gordon. Gordon was terrified of Marco in his younger years, and for good reason because he really was a devil in the kitchen. He's probably toned down with age. I prefer Marco in cooking videos where he demonstrates/cooks a dish. A lot more relaxing to watch than Gordon.
@maxrimas It's Ramsay who is imitating Marco (see the videos of Ramsay at Harvey's under Marco's supervision. Even Bill Buford who witnessed Marco in his early career was floored by how aggressive he was with his staff. Ramsay at times seems to have to take a running jump to get the screaming out. Marco didn't have to do this and at present doesn't need to do so to get his point across.
These shows are so cool. here in australia our tafe classes should watch this im so happy we are getting more girls in the kitchen mostly trying to become chefs and stuff i relate more to girls then the blokes as i am a girl
@dudemusicspace IF YOU WOULDN'T WANNA WATCH THIS, FAIR ENOUGH. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS WHY YOU DEVOTE YOUR TIME BITCHING ABOUT IT. LEAVE THE VIDEO ALONE AND PLEASE GET A LIFE.
here is the difference between Gordon and Marco Gordon needs to scream to get his point across since he cannot scare anybody so he needs to do overreact for intimidation Marco just has to be Marco and you will shit your pants.
@Chilax You got that right Marco is scary as fuck. Every time he speaks I shit myself, and even when he's trying to be polite you can just sense his insanity XD
Marco's personality is way too fucking heavy. Especially for the nature of this show, they are just celebs for god sakes, and not concerned with food at the end of the day.
When someone shouts, it means they have lost inner control.. when someone talks quietly like Marco, be scared. The ones who are angry and yet quiet are the ones to be scared of lmao
just search "ramsay's boiling point". it's a show filmed when ramsay opened his first restaurant.
when you watch that, you'll realize that most of his shouting and name calling is just for the sake of the show. that's the reason most people watch it. to see him shout at someone. he's harsh, but not like he is in HK.
I think he's surprisingly low-key compared the nightmare inflicted on kitchen staff during a typical service in any five star restaurant. Whiners....MORE SALT!!!!
This is the difference between Gordon and Marco. Marco is very harsh, the few words he uses cut much more than all the shit talk that gordon does. He is harsh but he is also fair. He stands as an authority figure and proves his worth by his stature. Gordon is an authority figure because he bullies people. Marco gives constructive criticism but Gordon does not. This guy is quite cruel sometimes but I respect him. I do not respect gordon. He is an arse
Maybe on TV but in real life it is complete different. Gordon is a very sweet person in real life. Marco... EXACTLY like what u see on TV except more screaming and throwing. Gordon learned all his "trashy" behavior from working under Marco for several years. He quit because of all the bullying.

What the.....? This can't be Hell's Kitchen. I'm 20 minutes into the show and so far nobody has been called a fat f*ck, a disgrace to the industry or even a stupid cow!
@FamilyOfMan1975 I think with the American version, the producers told Ramsay to step it up a notch, since they must think the audience there likes that kind of thing, so they can get better ratings. Some parts are slightly exaggerated to keep the atmosphere alive so to speak. I think the UK version is less dramatic of course. Maybe for the opposite reasons as the US version. Bear in mind Fox are involved in the US version, and Fox...well, they always seem to always over dramatise things IMO.
@7heAre7s Kitchen Nightmares is the same way. There's a lot more confrontation in the American version. Sometimes it's entertaining and sometimes you start to wonder why you're watching such drivel.
@FamilyOfMan1975 Ramsay actually explained all this in his book 'Playing With Fire' about Fox wanting to make a 'brand' out of him. He explained in it about the producer's style of a program, and mentioned if Kitchen Nightmares USA would appeal to the audience there. Moreover,he said that with Kitchen Nightmares that you "have a bad,bad restraunt run by an incompetent owner with no customers" or something along those lines, then ending it with a "fairytale" like ending of everything being super.
@FamilyOfMan1975 He said that that was something along the lines of an 'American style of a program'. Anyway, Fox must think that the audience in the US like that, so they over-dramatise things to get their ratings. Heck, this is Fox. They would over do it no matter what country there were based in. As you said, sometimes it is entertaining, and other times I think "what?". Although I'm not their target audience per se, I find it funny when Ramsay goes apeshit at everyone :)
@FamilyOfMan1975 And it is nice to be conversing with someone who doesn't type like a Martian. Cheers. For some reason, some people on YouTube type like they've just had lessons from a monkey. For the most part, 'Trolls' are the ones that really get on my wick; the ones that spout a load of garbage and run their mouths just to piss everyone off. Least surprisingly, they do it because it entertains them...how sad...
@FamilyOfMan1975 Anyway, I might try and watch the other seasons of HK soon enough. Once I've seen some of the UK episodes, I'll probably start to watch season 2 of Hell's Kitchen USA onwards and see what I think of it. I've watched quite a few episodes from the USA version, and I actually like it at parts. The editing by Fox doesn't fool me though; I can usually see when they are up to tricks. I bet they only leave in the parts were the teams are doing the utmost crap.
Working for Marco - you would learn so much. He may not seem like a very nice guy, but that's because he is a REAL chef. He will never lie to you, and this means you will learn from him.
What's with the one and a half minute introduction from the previous segment? Do british TV channels consider the populace to be so slow witted that they can't remember what happened before the ad? What a sad sorry state.
@MITGAMESCOMPANY He's always spoke like this funny enough. If you watch him in the 80's he's not changed only in appearance lol He talks in riddles alot don't he
@eugene680 Ramsay in person is actually very nice...if anything he's just got tons of energy. He just doesn't tolerate idiots in the kitchen (Neither does Marco for that matter)
Marco does have a point. Just because he doesn't like well done beef, doesn't mean it's not a good sandwich. And second, it would be wrong to criticise a cold sandwich that he didn't touch until the end. I respect him for that.
I like Gordon better, but then again, this is my my only experience with Pierre in HK as a viewer. Honestly, he scares me more than Gordon. It feels like he's so fking angry inside, ready to burst at any point. This is a true demon people lol.
This show is soooo much CRAP compare to one Gordon Ramsay does... GORDON IS WAYYYYYY BETTER... I LOVE THAT GUY, SO INSPIRING... THIS GUY IS FULL OF SHIT.

@moeju2000 Hahaha ahhhh poor you, couldn't keep your dumb mouth shut , just had to tell the world you have a voice. You said he is full of shit, everyone can read it, and yet you still try to bend it to keep your face up. For who? Other youtubers?
Marco is such a bellend, who does he think he is. He blatently fancies Danielle, it shows badly, so do i so i dont blame him but not very proffessional. Daniell is so cute and sexy, i think she should come and find me so i can give her never ending oral pleasure, i find her so attractive.
Ms Dynamite is a ixed race chav rapper, Danielle Bux is Gary Lineker's wife/ girlfriend, Ade Edmondson is a very funny comedian from the 80's, and the rest aren't worth even noting....
your not a chef are you..hes a god too all those in the fraternity of the kitchen..he is the best there ever has been..he has trained most of the super star chefs in the world today
I think a version of HK with MPW would be better if it were in the mold of GR's in the US where he is working with aspiring chefs rather than celebrities. If they had this style of show in Canada/U.S. I would definately watch it. MPW is the man.
@TNO73 I think HK USA purposely picks garbage chefs for the show. If the chefs were real, actually competent chefs, there wouldn't be much for Ramsay to get pissed off about
@IronCook1 That maybe true, but the whole celebrity aspect of the MPW version makes it less appealing for me. Also the fact that a lot of people in the US don't know MPW when he was on his own show, The Chopping Block (I think it was called) it tanked here. I think a lot of people thought MPW was a Ramsay copycat without knowing any better. I got to admit though I do like watching both, but if I wanted to learn I think I would learn more from MPW than GR.
@TNO73 True, MPW isn't well known here. I watched Chopping Block when it was on tv(for 3 episodes), but ineither the show of Marco himself were publicised very much. I knew about him before the show because I read "Devil In The Kitchen"(great book, if you haven't read it yet), but I only read it originally because I recognized his name from being Mario Batali's mentor. The guy has had very little exposure in north America at all.
I believe he's no where near as bad as Ramsay. Ramsay has that look and knows how to word his insults and compliments (Sort of on the Compliments end, anyway)
@KojinMacJorn Marco Pierre White was Gordon Ramsay's master when Gordon was an up and coming chef. Gordon's mum says in an interview on Boiling Point that Gordon would phone home on weekends sobbing to her that he couldn't take it anymore. You could say that Marco shaped Gordon into what he's become - to an extent that is. They're good friends today though.
@KojinMacJorn I disagree. When somebody fucks up in Ramsay's kitchen, Ramsay starts insulting their appearance and physical attributes, which has absolutely nothing to do with their cookign skill, intelligence or their failure to perform

MPW is definitely head and shoulders above GR - he is the business.
whitejmw 1 year ago
He's not as scary and bold as Gordon Ramsay, but he is way creepier! I like his subtle, hannibal lector intimidation. He's pretty cool :-p

Adrian Edmondson, what a genius! Anthea Turner,I think is famous these days for promoting a chocolate bar at her wedding or something.

I like the competitive couple, right off the bat. She seems very sweet. We'll see as the series goes on.

I"ve heard of Linda Evans but who are the rest of these "celebrities"?
TomatoeAssassin 2 years ago 2
Ms Dynamite is a ixed race chav rapper, Danielle Bux is Gary Lineker's wife/ girlfriend, Ade Edmondson is a very funny comedian from the 80's, and the rest aren't worth even noting....

@VanGoghRothko you obviously know nothing about Gordon Ramsay if you think he "rants just to rant"
Jaymes420 2 years ago
they have the Dark Knight Joker theme music running while Marco is on screen.
Funny

He's like the Keith Richards of chefs. He's the guitarist (the cooler one). Gordon's Mick Jagger, always preening, God bless him!

I think a version of HK with MPW would be better if it were in the mold of GR's in the US where he is working with aspiring chefs rather than celebrities. If they had this style of show in Canada/U.S. I would definately watch it. MPW is the man.
TNO73 2 years ago
@TNO73 I think HK USA purposely picks garbage chefs for the show. If the chefs were real, actually competent chefs, there wouldn't be much for Ramsay to get pissed off about
IronCook1 1 year ago
@IronCook1 That maybe true, but the whole celebrity aspect of the MPW version makes it less appealing for me. Also the fact that a lot of people in the US don't know MPW when he was on his own show, The Chopping Block (I think it was called) it tanked here. I think a lot of people thought MPW was a Ramsay copycat without knowing any better. I got to admit though I do like watching both, but if I wanted to learn I think I would learn more from MPW than GR.
TNO73 1 year ago
@TNO73 True, MPW isn't well known here. I watched Chopping Block when it was on tv(for 3 episodes), but ineither the show of Marco himself were publicised very much. I knew about him before the show because I read "Devil In The Kitchen"(great book, if you haven't read it yet), but I only read it originally because I recognized his name from being Mario Batali's mentor. The guy has had very little exposure in north America at all.
IronCook1 1 year ago
DAMN!!!! is he intimdating or what......i think i like this version of hell's kitchen better than the Ramsay one....
batistalover619 2 years ago 5
I believe he's no where near as bad as Ramsay. Ramsay has that look and knows how to word his insults and compliments (Sort of on the Compliments end, anyway)
KojinMacJorn 2 years ago
@KojinMacJorn Marco Pierre White was Gordon Ramsay's master when Gordon was an up and coming chef. Gordon's mum says in an interview on Boiling Point that Gordon would phone home on weekends sobbing to her that he couldn't take it anymore. You could say that Marco shaped Gordon into what he's become - to an extent that is. They're good friends today though.
roxytheman 1 year ago
erm.... no theyre not, seriously, they hate each other now
iamthegaffa 1 year ago
completely untrue. White hates Ramsey's guts.
botch061502 1 year ago
@roxytheman i dont think there good friends today, i think they respect one another, . have you read marcos' book? devil in the kitchen?
darrenburns123 1 year ago
@darrenburns123 Great insight into British-French cooking. Read it twice
IronCook1 1 year ago
@KojinMacJorn I disagree. When somebody fucks up in Ramsay's kitchen, Ramsay starts insulting their appearance and physical attributes, which has absolutely nothing to do with their cookign skill, intelligence or their failure to perform
IronCook1 1 year ago
damn. he's intimidating
cstinia 2 years ago 2
Watching this guy compared to Ramsay is like comparing a sociopath to a rage-a-holic. Geez.
Schesso 2 years ago 32
Yeah, thinking the same thing. This guy has got the pleasant atmosphere of dr.Hannibal Lector.
fucknuaf 2 years ago 31
@Schesso
Better yet, not only that but these people are scared shitless by this guy, they should really go work for Ramsay instead!

To fear your boss, is to fear your abilities to perform well. So to fear him, is giving yourself zero credit.

the only thing i don't like about HK UK is that it's set up like Big Brother.
that said, Marco is one BADASS.
