I used to have a belgian horse that had a really small stride i used her in dressage i had to sell her last year as i grew out of her but i had so much fun i have a stallion now and i jump him !!! Great work keep it up xx

Wow. She reminds me so much of my Belgian/TB - I feel your pain trying to get some neck arch and nose in, or trying to get them to jump without such a flat back. I have had good luck using ground poles in front and behind the jumps to get him to round (a little) but the trot and canter of a draft are to DIE FOR and I know exactly why you're smiling while you ride - great great horses!

Bambi7468 - Not trying to argue but different stables teach you to keep your legs in different positions. one barn taught me to keep my legs forward and another taught me to keep my legs back. it just depends on the trainer, both ways work.

And you look like your holding him back right before and after the jump. I don't blame you. Huge stride and all, but maybe slowing him down between jumps would be a good training experience. =).

A nice start. For now, she's too heavy on the forehand and strung out when she gets over the jumps. Perhaps warming up over cavalettis could get her to collect. For videos, less warm up and more jumping will be more impressive to your audience.

Holy Wow! I'm currently helping to train a Belgian to jump and this gives me something to shoot for! I love this horse and can't wait on Harley to be able to jump like that! Though it will be atleast a few years... he is very unfit currently. Got turned out to pasture for 6 mo. due to previous owner's health issues.
