I remember seeing marc about in leeds n bradford back in the day b4 he got famous.. nice lad..always let on.. then we did look very similar.. in fact he nicked some of my style...lol
This is what I'm beggining to love about youtube: the chance of meeting artist I've never heard. For instance Marc here with this very sexy beautiful 80's song
Thanks for taking this song to here. Once I had all these old records but then I moved to another home ... All of these songs will always be alive in my memories for ever, who needs an old record? I remember the black heart in me that I had when I was 18 years young. Where have the years been going?
Always has the same reaction, my shoulders go side to side..or is it my head either way superb beat , fantastic lyrics, a true classic that as soon as some advertising bloke picks it up and puts it in a car commercial it will take over the world, ;0)
Yes, this brings back alot of evocative memories; I remember sitting alone in my room and listening to this song over and over again as a not very pretty 16 year old.
This so so so brings back the tears of childhood angst. God, I loved these albums-- they were a staple of my sick and demented lonely childhood. It was Marc alone who helped me through all those dark, dark, adolescent years. However, in hindsight, Marc and Morrissey sure gave me the impression that LOVE was irrevocably unrequited and sex SEEDY. And, thus far, it has taken me years and years to get over these notions.
you've put this sentiment more eloquentley than i ever could put into words...it does take time and effort to believe love and sex can combine without seedy overtones
Don't be surprised if it doesn't happen... the date has been regularly put back since last summer. Last time I looked it was 18 January so I've asked for a refund on my pre-order. Fuck knows if it's even going to happen.
Please Please somebody if you have the "Torment & Toreadors" (It's a take on "Carmen" the opera by Bizet and bloody brilliant!)album put it on here it's just wonderful!!!! xxx
I assumed it was Farfisa because it's mentioned on the sleeve notes... I've given my sister her copy of the album back, but I'm sure it says "Annie Hogan - Farfisa" somewhere on it.
I could be wrong. Would be STAGGERED if I am though.
(Easy song to play - E, F on the verses, G, F, E and back on the choruses - all major chords.)
I just listened to the recording again and the live version which is also on Youtube. It's a different organ on the recording versus the live version; I'm now trying to find out exactly which model of Farfisa (combo?) organ appears on the recording, they made so many of them! It's a Vox Continental on the live video, the tone is quite different.
No way I cant beleive they play this at vertigos!!!!!! If this is recent you guys should of been there in the late 90's when put on by alternatine nation. OUTOF CONTROL!!!!!way different vibe then today deff the place to be and it was still like kinda underground. I hear all the montebello rejects go their, no offense!!!!!!!
i danced this song with DAISY at club vertigos. she told me to ask the dj to play this song and i loved it after i heard it. man that chick is so hot. we make a good dance couple...
Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!! I miss this song, especially this beautifully lengthy version. I used to dance to this at Helter Skelter in Hollywood years ago....(sigh)
I have "Torment" on vinyl, but who has a record player anymore?

The Torment cd's are timeless. Almond is one of the world's greatest artist. The works that Marc produced between 1981 to 1991 stagers the mind!
