@Ricardosauve That was the storyline reason he was fired. The real reason was he was upset Ultimate Warrior got much more money than he did from their Summerslam '90 match, and Rude could not come to terms with McMahon to recieve more money and also a new contract, so he left in very late '90. Him and Bossman had house show matches though, some of them being cage matches
@Jessyleppert The then WWF legal department determined the character to be too similar to the one that Traylor had portrayed in the WWF and forced WCW to change it.
I bet Vinny Mac was pissed to see Bossman aka The Boss storm into a WCW ring decked out in his WWF made Gimmick, attire & alll, LOL, this didn't last long for that reason, & he became the Guardian Angel.
@JeffTheFutureJaros- But if you look carefully on the uniform, the little blck patches just above the breast pockets that used to have "Bossman" embroided on them were removed.
It was great to see this match in 1993, this was pretty much the match and feud that never got started in the WWE in 1990. For those that dont know or remember, Big Boss Man and Ravishing Rick Rude were suppose to have a feud with eachother in WWE after Rude was making fun of the Boss Man's mother. Rude left the WWE in 1990 before the feud could get underway.
@stingerfann1981 at least it was perfect replacement :) Bossman vs Rude or Mr Perfect were pretty good matches but it's a shame that there never was a match between Rick Rude and Mr Perfect. this would have been epic
@MrSUCH84 Yeah u r right mate, but the feud didnt totally die coz Bobby and the rest of the Heenan family carried it on, is was always about bossmans mother, i loved Bossman, i also liked Perfect and Bobby, Bossman beat everyone in Heenans family then was about to beat Perfect at ´mania 7 for the IC title until Haku and Barbarian ran in, Bossman won on dq meaning he beat all of Heenens family one by one, Vince made WCW change this character saying it was to close to the WWf version.
WCW's last good year. Before Hogan, before Savage. They had Rick Rude, Vader, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Brian Pillman, Big Bossman, Steve Austin, Ricky Steamboat, Diamond Dallas Page, Dustin Rhodes, etc.
In what world did WCW think they were living in, where having the bossman come out to that gear wasnt gimmick infringement?
