  • hes the most beautiful creature ive ever seen, this brought tears to my eyes watching this, its the chance you take getting in the water with theses whales! it is lovely to see tilikum back :-)

  • Like most people I am an Orca and dolphin lover. I am tired of hearing people say that Tillikum needs to be put down. What I want to say is that the trainers at Sea World knew NOT to get into the water with him. In some pictures on the day that Dawn died, RIP, you can see her in the water with Tillikum. It was not the whales fault.

  • =/ poor thing is in such a tiny tank.

  • he should never be put down. he is a wild orca in a bath tub... its cruel. he should go to a sea pen and live more freely.

  • @rosemary- GO KILL YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @rosemaryfullofshit seems your a bitter lifeless person.DO us Tilikum fans a favor and FINISH YOURSELF OFF.OH! AND BEFORE YOU FINISH YOURSELF OFF TAKE THE REST OFF THE PICES OF TURDS LIKE YOU, THAT TALK SHIT TO HELL WITH YOU.

  • They should have killed Tilikum for killing Dawn Brancheau!!! This is my opinion before anyone comments. You have stated your opinions and now I'm stating mine. FINISH HIM!!!

  • To add to my previous comment, for some reason it didn't go through. They will always have these wild instincts .So God forbid another tragedy happens,, don't say you weren't warned SEA WORLD!!!

  • I am very pleased that he is back as one of my thoughts were that Tili was going to be put down. However, you would think they would get the picture by now and set him free. It would be very unfortunate to have another tragedy happen as it did for Dawn (RIP). These whales are meant for the wild, as is to all other wild animals that are held captive. That being said you can take the animal out of the wild, but you can NEVER take the wild out of the animal,/mammal .. He will forever have these w

  • I am so pleased to see tilikum back in the shows, even though I hate what these people are doing to the poor whales, at least he's back up and happy again. He's such a lovely whale -3

  • I think the big guy can be forgiven

  • @ahbrando i agree it's not his fault.

  • At least he has something to do. Not much of a consolation for a lifetime of captivity though is it?

  • well none of us really know what happened that day even the people that were there you know dawn had never wore her hair down with the whale before maybehe thought it was a toy or maybe he thought her hair was hurting her we dont know WHAT HE THOUGHT so why say should and animal get put down and about the other deaths we know nothing about them either and the first death with the other two whales if you read into it it says he carried her on his back never said he killed her

  • I still think it's stupid to bring this creature back into the show. It has attacked and killed before, and you are waiting for it to do it again. Would Dawn be welcomed back if she killed the whale?

  • tiene que ser una pasada tener a esos animales cerca

  • im sorry- i have a very difficult time trying to take people seriously when they insist that captive whales are in danger if they are rereleased into their home environments. This tank, where this "serial killer whale" is a cage-and this is a sensitive, intelligent and wild creature that does not belong in a screaming stadium. He should have been sent back into the wild a long, long time ago instead of being continuously prostituted for some multi billion dollar conglomerate. .

  • i agree that whales shouldn't be captured and used for entertainment but the whales that already are in captivity should be kept in captivity so they don't die. it costed millions of dollars for keiko to be set free. we dont have millions of dollars to spend. it would be worthless to put these animals into the wild just to have them want human interaction. they are soo used to it by now, we'd have to do prob 1 orca at a time. thats a lot of orcas and lots of money. im glad tilly is getin excise

  • @Jessi285 -wait wait wait....it costs Money to let these poor creatures back to their own habitat??..1st why catch them in the firs place if they're not injured??...2nd..How much does a Place Like Seaworld makes in a day with exactly millions of spectators coming to see these Captive Creatures do shows??...SMH..That's Bullshit man...Tilikum attacked humans...why???...because maybe..just maybe he doesn't wanna be a dam tool anymore..Let the Dam Whale be a Whale for crying out loud!

  • @Jessi285 I don't think Tilikum agrees with you.

  • that shit makes me sick.

  • Ah, so after all that shit they haven't learned their lesson? Oh well maybe this time a poor pedestrian will have to suffer their mistake by not freeing Tilly who has made it clear that he's had enough.

  • @XxTreetailxX You people never cease to amaze me, do you see trainers anywhere remotely near Tilikum? No, their behind the slideout or behind the glass. You guys act as though he's going to jump into the stands and start slaughtering people. There was one of two choices, keeping him out of the shows and left in the rear tanks unable to perform and thus kept from an important means of his mental stimulation, or return him to shows. The latter was a must.

  • @flargmuffin92 They shouldn't have him in the first place

  • @XxTreetailxX And as for freeing him, you should read into the story of Keiko, the orca from free willy, and how frickin successful his release was. Tillys been in captivity for nearly 30 years, chances are he's grown accustomed to an artificial environment by now.

  • @flargmuffin92 no wild animal will ever become 'accustomed' to a fishbowl.

  • Sea world should set an example and retire their whales/dolphins. Many countries aspire to have a facility like sea world, so they buy wild caught dolphins which fuels the drive hunts. The dolphins that can't go to dolphinariums are killed for meat. Including mothers and babies. Boycott sea world. If other dolphinariums see sea world fail maybe they'll think twice about spending all that cash. let's face it, it all comes down to money.

  • oh, nice , some more trolls over here...

  • After Tilikum has killed 3 people, I don't mean to be mean but he should be put down for the safety of the Trainers and other whales

  • @DressingGownTV or set free perhaps ? lol :)

  • @DressingGownTV you're not being mean you're being moronic. This whale has no reason to be put down- its a wild creature born in the wild and trapped here, then criminalized because of its basic instincts. people who try to make money off of this manipulative industry are the ones who aught to be put down.

  • @rfjeff9 His fans missed him? What do you want to bet he didn't miss them?

  • Anyone who pays money to watch him deserves a punch in the mouth, you idiots have no idea what he had to endure to be caught and trained, I bet you think they paid someone to gently extract him and that he does the tricks because he enjoys them; he was caught by whalers and watched his pod get slaughtered before being bundled up and sold to the highest bidder, he was too old and remembers, he does the tricks for food because he's kept hungry - but as long as you get to see flipper wave it's ok.

  • Just saw Tilikum 1 day ago and he's sooo cool, big and awesome!

  • If a whale is freed to the oceon, he will not survive, bcus he would not know how to hunt and his been in captive for a long time & his used to his trainers. It will detriorate his health & eventually will die. The only onces that can be free r the young once & the only that has the shortest in captives. Tilikum is such a beautiful creature. We dont want to see him die.

  • finally tiikum is back i missed him weting me in seaworld in 2005

im going to see him in the new show one ocean

  • SEA WORLD GO FUCK YOURSELF!

  • Im Glad Tilikum is back where he belongs after so long after the incident of Dawn, at least hes havin enrichment :) Go Tilikum !!!!!

  • Im Glad Tilikum is back where he belongs after so long after the incident of Dawn, at least hes havin enrichment :) Go Tilikum !!!!!

  • @shazxstar Enrichment is no decent substitute to not being sprayed in his pods blood when he was captured at an age where the park admitted he was too old to be taken, but took him anyway; and he sihould be grateful for enrichment? How about not taking him in the first place? You all claim to love him but turn a blind eye to what he goes through for your damn 'entertainment', I'm sure he loves you right back for that...

  • SHAMU, SHAMU!!!! I'm so HAPPY TILIKUM IS BACK!!!!!!!! Believe show wasn't the same without him :)

  • Great video! Thanks for posting! May I use some of this footage for a video on my shamu blog?

  • @shamurocks1395 Sure!

  • @orlandoexaminer Thank you so much!!

  • sad....

  • @amy8774 Your an idiot dogs are domesticated animals..

  • @Mrsequals3 I know the difference between your and you're. And I'm an idiot? lol

  • How many of the people watching this video have a dog? How do you train your dog to sit? With food rewards. I do not starve my dog, he eats regularly, but to get him to do things I want him to do, I reward him with treats. I guess I am forcing my dog to sit with bones too. I am such a terrible pet owner. Ok, that's it. I cannot come back and watch this video, I will find another to enjoy. Its too bad you can't set trolls free in the ocean as they are far less entertaining!

  • @amy8774 - Watch my video dogs ≠ orcas. Your argument is illogical and is a terrible analogy for captive orcas. Try again -_-"

  • @amy8774 if you keep a whale well fed they won't do tricks, so yes, that is different from your dog - whales have to be kept hungry. Did you think they got Tilikum by opening an comfy box and calling here fishy fishy? Was your dog gotten for you by having his mother and whole litter slaughtered in front of him as he sat in their blood and desperately called for them? Then manhandled into a truck and sold to you? I'm guessing that's a no. Well that's how they catch whales, are you ok with that?

  • Those who say that all killer whales should be freed, need to look into the dental health of the killer whales... google "orca pulpotomy". Most of the captive orcas, ESPECIALLY the older wild-caught ones, need their teeth flushed out every day to avoid infection... (which, I don't think prevents infection 100% of the time- seeing as a lot of the killer whales die of infections like pneumonia). Is captivity for orcas good? No. Can we free them all? No. Can we stop breeding them? Yes.

  • How adorable is that!!!! It was such a cool idea for Trua to do the Sham Slam with Tili his first time out! Thanks for sharing this!!!!

  • "If I am special, please think how I feel,

I'm not a stuffed toy, i'm alive and i'm real,

I'm not made of stone, I have feelings like you,

Life is not just for humans, this world is mine too.

So now I am hoping and praying you'll see

That to love a thing truly, you must set it free,

For it matters not whether you're big or you're small,

A life without freedom is no life at all."

  • @FreedomForOrcas amazing poem.... <3

  • Gorgeous Tilly... he looks like Keiko so much! What a sad caricature of a wild orca - he should be free, traveling the oceans like the large hunter he is. It may be a hard life, but it was HIS life, and it was no one else's but his own.

    Poor Tilly.

  • And just a side note, We set "Willy" free and he came back looking for human contact. He had a whole ocean to swim freely and chose to stay most of the time in places where he could have interaction with humans.

  • @amy8774 - cont'd... and about Keiko... the reason why he never joined another pod was because he never found his original family pod. He swam MILES by himself, and yes, towards the end of his days, he chose to interact with humans, so what? He socialised with other orca, however he never managed to fit in with the other pods. So he went back to where he was welcome. Keiko's release was a success, and he died free and wild like all orcas should.

  • @FreedomForOrcas so what? you said the whale didn't give 2 shits about a human. If Keiko came back seeking human contact, I'm thinking he must have liked them at some point. However, I stated my opinion and you haved stated yours. I am not going to banter back and forth over how you or I interpret how an animal feels or their actions. Since we all know Sea World is NOT going to realease Tilly, I am glad he is back in the show. The End. Have a nice day.

  • @amy8774 - Yes, because look at the difference of power in these two situations - Keiko was FREE to choose whether he wanted to interact with people or not. The orcas in captivity do not have a choice - they are forced to see and be seen by humans each and every day.

Yes, poor Tilly. Back into the show to be exploited for the rest of his life. We know SeaWorld won't release a big money earner - all they care about is profits, not money.

  • @FreedomForOrcas 1. how the hell do u think they can free tilly after captivity for many MANY years. 2. they do NOT nd i repeat do NOT force them to perform. they perform if they please not when told they aint abused. nd 3. they kept tilly cuz it aint his damn fault u dumbass :)

  • @melony91able - 1. it's called a seapen dumbass. Ya know - the cetacean in question can live their life in their natural environment, and still receive human care, but not forced to perform demeaning tricks?

    2. Yes, they are. Control the food and you have power over them. Notice how the orca's attention is always fixated on the reward. They don't give two shits about performing - they want food. They get food by performing. If they were humans, it would be called "blackmail". Grow a brain.

  • Comment removed

  • @melony91able - 1. I know captive orcas get fed... never said they didn't. But orcas do not perform on a full stomach - if they did, they wouldn't perform. What would motivate them? There's no food as a "reward" for doing the right thing... bet you didn't think of that.

    2. I think you mean "the trainers love their animals", because I don't doubt that. However, SeaWorld does not give two shits about the orcas. God, they don't care! They want to make money! Wow, how naive are you LOL!

  • @melony91able - con't... oh my, what terrible language you have! That's typical of someone who doesn't have a proper argument. And here's a little tip... if you want to leave me a very rude comment but then delete it, I recommend you write ANOTHER comment to me so it hides the original... because I still got the first one ;)

  • @melony91able Yep, cos starving, isolation and being kept in a bare tank when you naturally swim hemisphere to hemisphere in the wild isn't abuse at all is it..... the word able is in your user name but you don't seem to be able to read between the lines; out of interest how do you think they obtained Tilly?

  • @amy8774 You're a heaving tit, I guess it's too hard to understand that if humans were the main part of his life for most of his life, of course he'd come back to them, does that mean he'd have chose to approach humans to begin with? No, he tried to escape and had to be wrestled. Your brain cell must get very lonely.

  • @polkadotpants actually it doesn't, yours is keeping it company. Have a nice day.

  • Setting this Orca free would be a death sentence. He has lived with humans for so long and depended on them for so long, he would either starve or piss of some fisherman that would kill him. I understand your frustration with keeping orcas captive, and petition to prevent new ones from this life if you want, but let him live the rest of his days NOT solitary and lonely. btw He isn't a serial killer he is a wild animal the size of a busif you put humans in his cage...they may die. Simple.

  • @amy8774 - No one is stupid enough to suggest throwing him in the ocean. A great plan of action would be to place him in a seapen in his HOME waters in Iceland. That way he will get to feel the ocean, the waves, use his echolocation properly, catch fish that travel through his pen, maybe even see other wild orcas... THAT is a life Tilly deserves, not this nonsense of splashing water on a human he doesn't even give two shits about.

  • @FreedomForOrcas Read through the comments, plenty of people have suggested just that. You give people way too much credit. Although it is sad that this whale cannot roam free, I believe that he (and others before him) have saved so many other orcas. Sea World has made people fall in love with these animals which increases public awareness on whale hunting, over fishing, and the effect of litter on our oceans. That promotes people to stop doing these things which will save so many more.

  • @amy8774 Any person with half a brain cell can treat an animal with respect and kindness.

SeaWorld has fed you this lie that they are doing a huge favour to these animals, when in actual fact they are harming them.

Who caused the Southern Resident pods to severely drop in numbers? SeaWorld.

Who is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of orcas, just to make money off their display? SeaWorld.

Who has supported capturing and killing them in the past? SeaWorld.

A leopard doesn't change its spots.

  • my two favorite boys :)

  • Having a beautiful animal imprisoned in a chlorinated pool and forced to do tricks is animal cruelty to the fullest.

  • Its sad too see him back, In before the next death tbh Im calling it

    Set the poor thing free

  • If you love something set it free

  • Don don don don don TILLI TILLI don don don don don TILLI TILLI! :) You rocked man!

  • It's Trua, I can see the damaged tail. What a couple!!!

  • ...snapped before like he did. He is stressed, confined, and bored. Im sure Seaworld does their best to take care of the orcas in a "human way" but it just isn't a match for freedom. Who do you people think is happier? An orca who has freedom or an orca stuck in a shallow box forced to perform tricks in front of thousands of screaming people and blaring music. No wonder Tili is on edge all the time. He needs to just be retired. SW could still use him as a "sperm bank", since SW wants that

  • I am glad he is back in the shows.. however I am also saddened that Seaworld didn't just retire him to a seapen. Its a sad existence that these captive orcas lead. Shortened life spans in captivity prove that these animals are just not meant to live in concrete tanks. Tilikum is an intelligent being with the right to live as an orca should, miles and miles a day hunting fish with a family pod. The least they could do for him is put him in a more natural environment... there is a reason he...

  • Captive orcas are a sad caricature, a weary and spiritless version of

their wild counterparts. Visitors cannot help but leave with a distorted perception of

orcas and their environment. Most disturbingly, they may leave with the notion that it is

acceptable to confine orcas and other animals, solely to meet human demands for

entertainment and 'education' "Dying to Entertain You" Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society.

  • @metridium Why is it not acceptable if they're well looked after, with their families, and happy? Posting these biased quaotes aren't changing anyone's views at all.

  • @missnoodles996 So if I kidnap a kid after it witnesses me murdering it's parents, take it home and put it in a bare room, starve it til it does as I tell it to, then obtain a few other kids the same way and put them all in together that's ok and considered looking after?

  • @polkadotpants No, it's not, obviously. If SeaWorld did that then they'd have been shut down a long time ago. SW weren't the ones to capture Tilly, he was just transferred there. The pool floors don't have rocks any more because they were snagging on the safety nets, and the whales are always fed regardless of whether they perform or not. They can't force them to, and they certainly don't use food deprivation. And only 2 of the whales in Orlando are from the wild - the other 5 are captive born.

  • @missnoodles996 Sea World did exactly that, they didn't order him from the whalers but they bought him knowing his age and circumstances, how could they get away with something like that? They claim it's all in the name of research when the whales aren't performing. Do some basic research and you'll find out SW aren't as innocent as they claim to be. Rocks in the tanks? Are you kidding? I'm sure Tilikum would choose a tank with rocks in it over the ocean any day........

  • @polkadotpants How do we know what he'd choose? We don't. And it sounds bad, but captive borns can't miss the ocean. And yes, most of what SW do behind the scenes is research. We've never been able to study whales before as we've not been able to get close enough. The ocean would be the best and I wish they'd never been captured. But, for now, I just like to concentrate on making sure whales get the best care possible. I'm more worried about Lolita, who makes SW seem like paradise.

  • @missnoodles996 As for feeding, yes the whales are fed, but not to comfortable fullness otherwise they would not perform, look up whale training, former SW trainers have spoken out about it themselves. How would you like to go through life always being hungry, enough to jump through a hoop for what is essentially a morsel? As for where they get the whales, the instinct to swim and explore is inbuilt, just as our instincts are, keeping them so confined is totally and utterly cruel.

  • @polkadotpants No, they don't underfeed the whales so they perform. The trainers had to be really inventive to think of more ways to reward the whales - they work with the whales even when they couldn't care less about more food. Go google positive reinforcement and operant conditioning, which are the techniques all SeaWorld parks use. They realised a long time ago that if you want a whale to do something like perform, you've got to make it want to.

  • GO TILI!!! =D

  • Absolutely amazing to see the big boy back again :D I just hope the performances will cheer him up again :)

  • what orca is that with him ?

  • @tenjuberrymud I believe it is Trua

  • @tenjuberrymud trua!

  • I was sooo thrilled to see him in the show again!!! I loved the audiences reaction to him!

  • (STAMENT RELEACED BY TILIKUM) -"I AM AS OF NOW FULLY REHABILITATED AND WILL NO LONGER BE MURDERING MY TRAINERS....FURTHER MORE I AM IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING THE WORD "KILLER" REMOVED FROM THE TITLE OF MY NAME AND WILL JUST BE KNOWN AS "TILIKUM THE WHALE...THANKS TO ALL MY FANS.."

    --TILIKUM

  • I am so glad he is back in the show. Watching the audience get splashed without Tilly doing it is boring.

  • I still don't agree with having animals as large as orcas in captivity, but I am very excited to see Tillikum doing SOMETHING rather than being isolated. He's a wild animal, yes, but he's a social wild animal. He must have been so lonely back there; it's good to see him out in front again. Great job Tilly!

  • Ive been waiting for this day and cant wait till i can go back and get splashed by Tilly. U can tell how much he luvs being the star of the show! I'm SOOOOOOO happy Youre BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @aterjl Yeah, you can tell because of the big smile on his face and his thumbs up can't you... I wonder would you 'luv' to have to do tricks in front of a noisy audience just to get some food; someone should do that to the staff at sea world and see how they like it, something tells me not so much.

  • @polkadotpants Actually that is exactly what the trainers are doing. Performing in front of a noisy audience for a paycheck that buys them food. Your argument is lame, sorry. Try again.

  • @amy8774 Yeah, because the fact it's a 'job' makes animal abuse feasible doesn't it. How fucking dumb are you? So I should go out and shoot idiots like you, call it an occupation and suddenly it's ok? Sweet by me.... By the way, just so you know, there are plenty of other jobs out there that don't include abusing animals, instead of showing yourself up as a spineless bint perhaps you should advocate a different profession....

  • @polkadotpants lolumad about a youtube post?! Haha. Name calling, really? If you were trying to offend me, sorry, you lost this round. I find you quite amusing! Here is a tip for you. Seek psychiatric counseling or some sort of medical intervention! You are clearly suffering from some sort of mental illness! Trolling is fun, but I do not care to swap insults with you. I think your time would be better spent on Google searching for a psychiatrist. Reply if you must, but I won't. Good day.

  • @amy8774 Call me what you like, bottom line is I give a shit about an animal that can't defend itself and you condone it's mistreatment - take a leaf out of your own book and get help. lololololololoololololololololololol.zomg.

  • @amy8774 And by the way, the trainers applied for those jobs to be there, bit of a difference between being forced there to do something for food isn't it....... here's a tip for ya, grow a fucking brain.

  • AHHHHH YEAHH! You can so tell he missed splashing!

  • Thankyou so much for being there to film and share this special moment. I'm so glad to see my boy back, and with his grandson none the less. Great job Tilikum and Trua.

  • Do we know which of the smaller whales was out there with him? I think it was Trua but might have been another one.

  • THANK YOU MY FAVORITE WHALE IN THE WORLD TILIKUM!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH <3

  • Welcome back Tilly!!!

  • YESYESYESYESYEEEEESSS!!

    TILLY IS BACK, FINALLY!

    I'm so happy, many tears!

  • well done tili love you big fella so glad you back just listen to that crowd they love you so much. Big well sone to seaworld and the trainers on this great day aswell keep up the good work guys i believe and love you xx

  • I am glad he's back performing and I bet he's happy too. I bet Dawn is smiling down at him.

  • @CSpaniel14 Clearly killing his trainer wasn't a big enough pointer that he's NOT happy....

  • Comment removed

  • im crying right now im so happy :0

  • Yay! he is back in action. Yes they know he is a wild animal still and has the killer instincts but they work with him differently. He is not hurting anyone by being in the shows cause the trainers are not in the water. Welcome back Tili you have been missed

  • ah the big boy is back i'm sooo happy for him WHOOOOOOOO! GO TILLY! your amazing!

  • whoo hoo my big boy is up and splashing, so many happy tears * THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS UP

  • my boy is back!! sooo happy!! love it!! thanks so much for sharing this special day for many people :D
