I wish I could watch some of your videos!! GarbageTube (YouTube) is messing with this HTML5 crap. I got to watch the first 30 seconds of your video, so they can't tell me the browser isn't compatible. I work at a place that blocks downloads from the only place I can download the HTML5 plugins since Google doesn't offer it anywhere else. Either way, I hope you're doing well. I am considering surgery myself and am doing research on after effects.
my father was 470lbs when he got his gastric bypass and is now down to 195lbs and believe it or not he has no extar skin i asked him if he had the extra skin removed and he said no he just exercised like the doctor told him he has a little excess skin but nowhere anything like what are in some of these videos
@SarahWillBeSkinny not really, his father followed the docs instructions. My sister had the same thing done, she was 550 pounds and shes down to 180 and has ZERO excess skin. She followed the docs and dietitians exercise plan and she came out looking great. But you have to follow it to a T from what i'm told
I know how you feel about the extra skin . I am 7 years out this March and I am still not sure how to deal with that part of it. I lost 150 pounds but, I really wish I did not have the skin. You can not tell when I am dress.People tell me I look really good, but I always think about what they can't see...You are Great...
I have some questions if you are open to discussing your surgery with me?? I am hopefully going to be getting this surgery done. I am nervous hoping this is the right decission for me, I am really worried about the excess skin!

if u havent got the surgery yet i just want to let u know that im soon going to get the gastric bypass n my doctor has mentioned a surgeon who does the surgery for free if u donate the skin for burned victims. its in california, n if u dnt live near u could search n maybe ull find a surgeon who does it for free.
Overweight is major health problem (somewhere even a national problem) and weight loss diet should be encouraged rewarding it by insurance and free removal of loose skin. Otherwise many peoples does freak off and prefer overweight instead of loose skin...
i'm so sorry that you are having these issues, i have heard that if the excess skin causes rashes and irritations that insurance will pay for the surgery, i hope things all go well for you,

If I were you I would wait a couple years as I have heard that your skin continues to shrink and adjust for a couple of years. I am post op 56 weeks and 150# gone and my GP pointed at my skin and said "you going to DO something with all that?" I am many years older than you sarah so although I didn't think I ever would consider it... the skin has a life of its own and shakes and continues to move after I stop walking. Yikes! Don't feel guilty at all for wnating to be the best you!
Basically, I finally came to terms with my loose skin about a month ago! (That's 2-1/4 years post-op, and 170 pounds later.) My shrinkles are a part of me; they are a road map of where I was and how far I've come. My darling hubby (MexiKEN) said the sweetest thing when I mentioned to him that I had finally accepted my extra skin. He said, "Once you learn to love the inside, everything else is easy. I've always loved you inside and out. I'm glad you finally agree with me."
@GastricBypassBarbie I am so so glad that you have such a loving, considerate and might i add wise husband. Wow what a comment and support. Although i would prefer a tummy tuck (had one in TJ) rather than the loose skin, others would not. I would like to encourage you tho to at least wear a compression garment, even one that is not totally strict or uncomfortable as that might defeat the purpose. But one that you can love the way you feel and look so you do not feel the jiggles 805-236-0622
@GastricBypassBarbie I ran out of space in my last post so I want to explaine that I do have a manufacturing company in Oxnard, Ca. My product is called bon body fajas and we have been making them for over 2 years. Our material is a true post surgical powernt material and we have sizes up to 6x . Again Mary at 805-236-0622
Hey Sarah.. I posted the response as you requested. You seriously are beautiful and I hope there are some things you can start doing to feel more confident in yourself and your body. I am telling ya.. get into those lingerie stores and find things that make you feel good and no they don't have to be blatant or gaudy .. Things that feel nice and compliment your body. omg did you see Darcy's undies.. so friggin cute man! I just wanted to rip them off her.. wait that didn't sound right :P
Wow! 187 lbs gone..Amazing. Congratulations!!This is sooooo common among WLS patients. You've done all the hard work to get the weight off and then realize, I've got an excess skin issue. Please know these feelings are completely normal..You are not alone! Don't worry, new relationships will come and they will love you for you. Not how tight your skin is. I know that may be hard to imagine now, but it's true. Thank you for being soo raw and candid w/ us.
sarah, thank you for making this video..i've lost 176lbs and have approx 49 more to go and i have tons of excess skin already, and i KNOW it's going to be even worse with that last 50...i swim 4 times a week and you should see my skin moving around my body, yes, it floats up...grrrr
Sarah, post this video as a video response to my skin video. We are trying to create a 'skin video network'. There are several already posted. I'll also post mine as a response here.
you are a young woman your whole life is ahead of you- go for the reconstruction-- I plan to. I am afraid if I don't have the excess removed it will be so easy to slide back into the old body-- even if I think I won't.
Thank you for sharing these deep feelings. You are human, and vulnerable and fragile too. It is OK to feel this way HOWEVER you must know that true love sees though the cover and into the heart.
I think you must pursue Plastic Surgery to lighten your load and free your thoughts for the good things in life you deserve!
ive said this a bazillion times i think..and im sorry if youve heard it before but. parkland dallas hospital has said they will do plastic surgery on excess skin if you are out one year an stable...free...for th skin for their burn unit. check into it.
Thank you for talking about this subject because I am on the brink myself. I have A LOT of loose skin,so I can definitely understand. I "try" to laugh at it to keep myself from crying about it ( if that makes sense).
prt 2.... I get sad when I look at it but then I think you know when it was filled with fat I couldnt breathe, I couldnt run, I couldn't live. I will post my vid showing off my belly belly :P Hopefully it will make you feel a little better about yours hunny. We all get this after such a big loss.
prt 1... aww sarah.. I just made a video about excess skin but haven't posted. right now I am @167 and the skin on my belly is driving me nuts. I have been using all kinds of creams and gels and whatsits to "help" but the reality is I am a mum of 4. my belly is what it is.
oH Sarah, Youre such a beautiful girl! You look amazing dont let this get to you. please stay positive ...hey I look up to you! God Bless you Sarah... xOxO :)
Sarah, im so happy that your making this video. I know how difficult it is because I had the same issues and its what lead me to have plastic surgery. Its a hard subject to talk about and I just admire your courage to do it. I wanna post my video on here on showing excess skin too if u dont mind.
Hey Sarah, I understand you are going through alot with the excess skin, but you do look wonderful and should be very proud of what you have accomplished. Don't be so down on yourself for the excess skin issues. In time you have them resolved. Stay positive and it will all work itself out in the end!!!
