  • How many other songs could receive 106 likes with 0 dislikes? I loved Jerry's session from 4:14 to 5:20.

  • just a ty for sharing an awesome example of his talent.

  • I was there.

  • Very interesting chord progressions-only Jerry could put this together and make it work

  • Just saw Further perform this in Boston & was surprised at how bittersweet it was & how emotional I got! I think JK is doing an amazing job both playing & singing Jerry's tunes, but Jerry has a poignant wistfulness to his vocals when doing this song, truly a world weary traveller reflecting on his life...brilliant! thanks for posting...

  • One of my top 3 fave versions

  • Beautiful noodles from Jerry on this. such a melodic piece of music to start. played well it is transcendent... and by the way, where does the need to bring up bobby even come into this, anyways. He is laying low during the whole thing...

  • My favorite version of this song. The lead is absolutely astonishing.

  • weir as a 'rhythm guitarist' is at least the dynamic equivalent of garcia as 'lead'--there are times that i think weir easily eclipses garcia which is uncommon in a typical band format...

when i hear this song i automatically remember 'ashes and glass' because they both use the symbol of the ring

  • i was there

  • fantastic song great sbd aud recording thanks for posting this

  • Love this one, thanks for posting it! I love how this song is so wide open for anything at the end, and particularly when they go into spanish jam.

Gone are the days....when we could hear Jerry play this seemingly all night...

    peace ya'll

  • happy birthday jerry

  • this is the best version of crazy fingers ever. And yes, I've listened to nearly everyone between 75' and 95'. Hands down...

  • Thank you.

  • Heartbreakingly beautiful. Jerry's solo is just exquisite.

  • the best way to download this mp3 from youtube is to google mp3iffy.

  • Transcendent solo too, like shooting stars all around us.

  • this is what i listen to when i snow board

  • this is my magic song from whenst I met Jerry ya whenst lol a new word

  • love you jerr bear missin' you with all my heart love you and see you soon brother keep a seat for me!! love you

  • Soft, strong, sweet and true...

  • Reminds me of hunting for 'shrooms in the fresh morning dew.

  • @bwanna23 hell yes

  • beautiful miss ya jerry....

  • This is one of the best Crazy fingers I've ever seen!! We miss you Jerry

  • Crazy Fingers was the most played song at the 20 shows I attended... and I wasn't complaining!

  • Chapel Hill NC all the way one of my fav's

  • i still don't know exactly what happened to me the first time I EXPERIENCED the dead.......but i'm so glad I was there....... thanks for being true.

  • Jerry actually sounds alive here. See how it feels in the end...

  • best lyrics, best leads, best beat. One of my very favorite songs on the planet.

  • I remember this show... crisp spring night, was miracled in.. and had a blast.. one of the better shows from this tour....I remember Healy lettin the tapers patch into the sb... rock on!

  • Man do I love this song. Tough to pin down a favorite Dead tune but this certainly ranks in my book.

  • It's great that we can see these clips on YouTube. Jerry Garcia was truly a genius and an American legend; it's horrible that he hasn't been around for 14 years!

  • Jerry nailed this version....

In different times he did the quintisential version of a certain song....

this is the time for this one...

  • Sweet, to be back in the moment.

    Great upload.

  • takes me back. I always loved them playing this. Jerry was the greatest. thank you Jerry

  • I MISS YOU JEERRY

  • This song just saved my life,.Again, I am waiting for that something New to be born,.and I know I cant stop what must arrive now,.so much meaning.

  • love this one

  • thanks for the upload man

can't find this song anywhere else on youtube

i wish the camera would look at other band members too though, or make some wide shots

  • love dis song!

  • Just like they said Dimaggio made it look like he wasn't trying. The greatest musician in world history. His playing transcended all logical beliefs and boundaries.

  • kdiamond: if he was faking it ya think he would actually act like he was playing instead of resting he's hand on th guitar ... i sec th other cat in ya need to get a clue

  • I was at this show!!!!

  • man its crazy how you just feel these lyrics..

  • To jerdoes' comment: alot of Hunter's lyrics vis- as-vis ballads were either about death lost love

  • Jerry is talking about learning to play the music inside that spins your life. He is saying that all you can do is let your light out and let the inner and outer tansformation take place. Don't judge it.

  • Anyone know what this song is about,.I learned it on piano because it is just great music,.but the words,.what the hell is he talking about.

  • lyrics can mean many different things to many different people. read them and find out what they mean to you.

  • Lost love

  • The lyrics work as three stanza poems they do not necessarily hang together as a whole song. They are suggestive I think that's why Jerry loved the song so much it invokes the great mystery

  • GDF WHAT!

  • Who..can stop..what must arrive now

  • check out JFJOs cover of this. they have a new free album out @ JFJO . com with crazy fingers on it

  • .....when they did Crazy Fingers I knew I could close my eyes and DRIFT along and just be HELD by the melody and Jerrys voice...DREAM....FLOAT.....and always a soft landing....

  • 3:50.....there's proof that Bobby really isn't playing anything, he's fakin' it. He did this a lot.

  • lmfao..ok yea he fakes it get a clue

  • kdiamond5:

I agree with everything you've written, but also want to add that I think Jerry strums at times without hitting the strings just a reflexive for keeping along with the rhythm (like tapping one's foot) There is no faking involved whatsoever, and I know you know and meant that. :)

  • Bobby's talent is considerably limited? That's the dumbest things I've heard all day

  • @setboy1 I can't believe I just read that either....and the "example" he points out is....well...head-shakingly painful. Anyone who thinks Weir is/was "just" a rhythm guitarist, or without substantial talent....well, no real reason to say anything to them, so I'll stop now.

  • @dog1dog2 They really haven`t been paying attention if the think that Weir is less than Jerry`s equal

  • @TheEhce - Amen. Both extremely different guitar players, both extremely talented, both extremely awesome.

  • @setboy1 WTf who said that( not reading all the somments) Bobby is fucking amazing- the perfect compliment to Jerry...and Warren

  • @setboy1 bobby's aweome

  • My favorite Jerry Tune. Its uncommon.

  • mine too

  • Reach for the gold ring

  • Jerry is the greatest person that ever lived.

  • Incredible song - great version. I gotta go get me some 90s dead. This is an era I don't listen to much.

  • Dammm, what a show!! You are lucky to have been there filming. I miss Jerry sooo much! I'm lucky to have seen him in the 80's & early 90. We have a Jerry & Bob endorsed Grateful Dead tribute band close to where I live & I see them every week, sometimes 2x & of course have my The Dead tix for LA Forum 5-9-09

  • never will there be any one like jerry

  • A nice solo, there...

This was my very last show after seven years... The thrill was gone, the parking lot scene was awful, Jerry was beginning his final decline....

Still, I remember this show fondly.

I miss you, Jerry. There will neve be anyone else like you....

  • I posted some negative stuff about The Grateful Dead crowd a few months ago..But, they do rock!!! Seen them in the day around 10 times.

  • The comments stick to the belly of the whale like bungalow bedroom wallpapers.

Belly fluid may rise to new heights, as long as The Great One is willing. Urban itinerary for which the law has passed gaseous.

  • Why would you lump every single Dead fan into 1 catagory & only see the negative people & let that influence your decision. If you go through the world like this you will miss out on alot of good stuff, I know!

  • I recall this fabulous show!! Thanks for the memories.

  • thanks for this thanks thanks

  • great show...gotta love the oldman

  • thanks for posting this. this is one of my all-time favorite shows. the sound at the Dean Dome was INCREDIBLE! i wandered around the whole venue both nights and never found a bad spot for the sound. with they'd been invited back...

  • this song blows me away everytime I hear it!!!

  • tell me bout it!!

  • love this song!

  • I was at this show in Vegas and this is one of the best live Crazy Fingers I've seen. Improvisational jam at the end is incredible...the crwod was mesmerized...

  • My apologies that is dean center, there is a version exactly like this from vegas of same year.

  • The best!!! great guy. Jerr 1969 my birth

This song is special SAE RI ALPHA

  • May be one of it not the best of their songs - brings back memories - Jerry lives forever

  • I will never stop loving this song. I miss my old friend...

  • This song reminds me of Lindsay Graham, The love of my life, my best friend, and the woman I want to marry.

  • Senator Lindsay Graham? wierd.

  • Jerry is brilliant once again.

  • man the chords are easy, but the solo is fricken hard cause the chord keep changing so the root and scale is always changing.. freak an AY! GO JERRRY GO!

  • Thank you, Jerry.....

  • So frail....so strong....miss ya Jerry.....Thanks for all the good times.

  • This was the first DSBD I ever heard. Best tape I had for a long time! This one and MSG with Branford. This was the highlight of the show for me too. TYVM

  • I'm kind young and pretty new to the dead, but I absolutely love this song! Theres something so magical about it! I put up my own cover of it. I would appreciate any feedback of my version!

  • "...gone are the days, we stopped to decide, where we should we go, we just ride..."

  • Your rain falls like crazy fingers...

this song is poetry... thank you RH for writing the words, jerry for the music, and delivering it in a way that gives me goosebumps and makes me cry every time I hear it...

Thank you jerry... for helping me through all the tough times.

  • HA! YES! The dead dome was rockin.

  • Can you hear me singing?
