  • The close up of the teeth is so ugly. Veneers dont look good

  • Gabbana con una o due b? Ahahahahaha XD

  • thank you uh they forget to play it on cable

  • The beginning is epic.

  • Actually, when watching a DVD or digital TV, one is free to choose the original or the dubbed version, with or without subtitles. I prefer the original version as Emily's British accent matches perfectly her performance. That is lost in translation. Also, Nigel's voice is rendered too effeminate in the Italian version which does not do justice to the original. That said, there are films that are no worse than the original once dubbed into Italian: Laurel and Hardy is an example.

  • I watched both the original version and the one dubbed in Italian and I must say I liked both of them. Italy has a very old tradition in dubbing, there are great voices. For example, some Italians are let down when they listen to the original voice of a Hollywood star because they prefer the dubbed version of the voice! :-DD This, of course, is not the case of Meryl Streep, she is great in the original movies as in the dubbed ones. She can even speak a little Italian! ;-) Thanks for the video.

  • I think one of the reasons why Italians can't speak English is because the movies are dubbed.

I'm Italian and I refuse to see movies that are not in the original version.

  • Man I love this video! Thanks!

  • Tres Bien

  • adoro questo film!!!! sopratutto l'inizio!!!!!!!

  • @RoRfan171 = io vorrei un sequel

  • what is the name of this song..???

  • the first one is KT Tunstall - Suddenly I See

  • i want the original!!!

  • yes I guess,.. it's if you're used to it, but still if you read subtitles (and you can read them fast) you understand everything they say (you dont miss anything because you didn't hear it) and above all the ''disadvantages'' I still want to hear the original voice cause it's part of the performance..

  • In Italy we use the Italian language, so we (almost) never see films in foreign languages, do you?

Subtitles are not a valid option. When you are reading the subtitles, you can't see properly the images.

The dubbed soundtrack is part of the performance. The original soundtrack are part of another performance, in which most Italians are not interested.

But the songs are not dubbed, except in cartoons.

  • @CarloMilanesi the sound of the voices from the acteurs/atrices is one of the most important parts of a movie

  • @nouw23 Actually I don't ever miss to hear the sound of the voices from the Italian acteurs/atrices that dub the movie :)

Americans instead prefer to remake European movies altogether, losing the original voices, original actors, and original direction, original photography, original costumes, original settings, original location, and somewhat original script. They keep only the original subject. For example:

    * Pure Luck

    * Three Men and a Baby

  • ki mi dice il titolo della canzone alla durata del film 07.23??

  • Madonna's "Vogue"

  • dai! e la piu canzone famosa, VOGUE, quanti anni hai? haha

  • why do they dubb it??

  • because some people don't want to read subtitles.. though the english version is muuuch better, and I understand that one, this however..

  • iknow! i was like "thats not english...."

  • I think no one without hearing impairments and brain impairments wants to read subtitles.

Perhaps do you like to see films in foreign languages?

And could you explain me what makes the English version muuuch better than the Italian one?

    Ma almeno capisci l'italiano?

  • Gee no need to get all insulted or something..

It's just, after they dub it, a lot of the original comments and chemistry gets lost, I have seen dubs in my own language, and I must say, it's a shame they do it. And everyone with half a brain can read subtitles, hell I prefer them.

  • Then you are a rarity, as here in Italy, except in film festivals, every foreign film is dubbed in Italian, like every foreign novel you can by in bookshops is translated into Italian.

Regarding movies, I have seen some foreign films with subtitles, but:

    1) Often, for brevity, the subtitles omit some parts of the original sentences.

    2) The subtitles cover the lower part of the scene.

    3) When your eyes look at the subtitles, they don't look at the scene.

  • @CarloMilanesi 1) I agree 2) I agree

    3) depends from how far do you watch do movie.

I must admit that this is a very good dubbing, I've seen this movie in german, spanish(peninsular and latin), french, and this is one of the better

Here where I live (Croatia) only the cartoons and documentaries (since it doesn't require acting) are dubbed, there's not enough money, good actors or will to dub the movies. So everything foreign on tv has subtitles, but your eyes aren't distracted from the scene.

  • @LDV5g You see subtitles in a piece of second and scene doesn't change much. but there is a good side to this, you learn language by listening and if you have everything dubbed that won't help your english, french,german...(and when i was in italy last time, only shop clerks in fancy boutiques[i was there asking for directions] knew more then few words of english)

I have also seen the italian dub of Xena, and I must admit that the original is more convincing and emotions are expressed better

  • Please, could you cite some scenes of "The devils wears Prada" where the Italian version loses the original comments and chemistry? And which are the lost comments and chemistry?

The only one I found is that there are several English accents (American, British) that get lost in Italian. But who cares?

  • I would love to tell you what is wrong with this scene, but I don't speak italian. As for the accents, that is one thing, not very important but it is something. And it is good for your overal education, you pick up on a lot of thikngs when you watch a foreign movie. But if you have a problem with subtitled movies, that's your problem, just like me hating dubbed movies is my problem. As far as I'm concerned this discussion is pointless, because neither one of us is going to change our minds.

  • amo i vestiti di questo film!!!!!!

  • wow ! it's so corny when people dubb movies! it spoils the character and most importantly the performance !!!!

  • grazie!!

  • Suddenly I See by KT Tunstall

  • chi mi sa dare il titolo di questa canzone??
