Thanks to islam, for the first time in history, women were given rights, while in some other societies they were treated as nothing. Women were elevated and made to recognize their important role in the society. In the quran it is only asked that women should wear clothes in such a way to differentiate her from a prostitute. That's all. Others are simply interpretations made by some uneducated people. In the quran, we are given the right to defend ourselves. That's all.

Who are the people who migrates to developed countries? Generally those who cannot succeed in their own countries. These people generally have a low level of education. So, you cannot judge Muslims according to what you see in USA or whatever. I have been to Paris and met many Mauritians there. These people do not reflect at all what Mauritians are. There is a whole chapter in the Quraan dedicated to women. It explains in details how to behave with them, what they are really. Their role in the society. If you think well, it is the first book in history of humanity that really give women so much consideration. This idea has been propagated to european countries. And thanks to these ideas in the Quran, there have been movements to protect and give women their rights everywhere in the world. Before islam, women were treated as nothing.

If one Islamic group preaches violence are they real Muslims? If they are then so much for Islam being all about peace. If they are not, shouldn't the genuine Muslims stand against them for insulting Islam.
