A lot of people (especially fans of other sports) don't even realize how amazing this was. Holy Cross is a tiny private school, with a fraction of the funds/money to put into their NCAA Division 1 sports teams, unlike Minnesota, who have over a billions dollars total that goes into their Football and Ice Hockey alone. Holy Cross beating Minnesota in the regional tourney was equivalent to Appalachian State beating Michigan (football of course) in 2007. Both powerhouses should be embarrassed!

Michigan -- from Mites thru Bantams thru High School thru Colleges and thru to the NHL -- has the best overall hockey. Minnesota and Massachusetts are very close behind, and each of them can brag about HS and College respectively. However, from soup to nuts, Michigan just has a better product.

Check out last years final season poll all of them but BSU and UMD are up there.
