the grout isnt too wet for that floor. the air bubbles will appear no matter how thick you make the grout. plus i find it quicker to take care of the air bubbles while i wash, i keep a blob of grout by my side and fill them in, then wash and perfect the joint as i go. that way i dont waste time filling in holes as i grout, just to find out that as i wash, theres more.
ive grouted well over 1000 in a day (alone) using this method, and i never have to go back to repair grout other than to caulk.
too much grout on floor at one time not a good idea for anyboby? to much to wash at the one tima would be difficult for a novice, and a smaller area would be adviseable so you would have more time to clean the grout of tiles;
The grout a little too wet? On a tile floor that has dried (adhesive) maybe, but only for the ease of sponging since this slightly wetter grout is better filling. And, so many tilers, so many views.
For a tile floor directly laid into sand/cement (and grouted the same day) this would be perfectly wet.
Dunno wich country ur from but down here in Holland where i come from there's a huge shortage on professional tilers. Should i mention that u can make an awful lot of money 2? I'd say go for it!
Thanks Bruce! Big thank you also to the person who gave me a thumbs down because I mentioned I wanted to do a few intensive courses to get the basics. Well done you.
Those airbubbles in the grout may also appear when the floor just has been laid. The heat produced by the chemicals in cement and adhesives can cause the grout to lift up from the joints. As far as i can tell the texture of this grout is ok.
I am no tiler, but I am doing some tiling work in my living room for the first time. Is he using non-sanded grout cause the tile looks like porcelain? I found if you get it to the consistency of peanut butter, it seems to be easier to work with, at least that it what I found out.
love the accent... yeh thats a fast method to grouting, but really you should make it thicker and actually pack in the grout after all its the finishing touch.
of course you cover the face of the tile when grouting......grout sometimes changes the colour of the tile (only very very slightly) so if you only grout the lines you can clearly see the marks if it changes colour. But if you grout the whole floor and it changes colour slightly nobody notices......... amature, go back to college
its 100 times quicker to grout this way rather then try not to get it in the joints.You have to wash off the tiles anyway so its pointless to do it any other way.
you suck! come to america we'll teach you.
