I used to love this song on the album, way before it was released, i was tottally taken by it and played it over and over again. I felt a bit sad when it was brought out as a single i wanted to keep it a secret all of my own. It it still today my most fav song of all time. He is and still is the most perfect singer, no one can quite do it like he can. Thank you Boy George xxx xxx xx always !
First timeI have heard this song for 30 years and immediattely it took me back to where I was when I heard it....sat on the bog listening to the Top 40 on my hand held mono wireless:)
I remember listening to this song at 4 years old back in 1983. It made my cry every time my parents put it on and they had to stop playing it. Still makes me cry at 32!
I loved Culture Club but this song always stayed with me more than the rest for some reason.. hauntingly beautiful. They don't make 'em like they used to. Thank you : )
really, mother fucker jon, destroyed george's life and music carrer by doing that, he let him lost him mind and went crazy and took drugs, and destroy his lovely somooth voice and inocent personality, if he didn'd do that george would be much bigger and bigger. if you are going to cheat in him why pretend loving him from the start.
@SweetDreams1430 you have to see it from Jon's POV. He was Jewish, engaged to a woman, then all of a sudden, he dumps her to be with George. From what my mom has said, I think he didn't know how to handle being with another man. Yeah, I'm pissed that he cheated, but I kinda get it.
frist time i knwo he was engaged to a woman before he knows boy george!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! did george know that jon moss was engaged when he fall in love with moss?
One of the most beautiful and melodic songs ever written. This song from Culture Club is well up there with 'Time (Clock Of The Heart)' in terms of melody and structure. Also 'Karma Chameleon' is a very great song.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this song! It's so beautiful! I got it for my iPod and when I heard the entire song I just had to watch the video. It's such a shame they don't make great songs and videos anymore! And your hearing this from a 14 year old. :)
the biggest and the best hits he had were all with culture club, it was also the music and the arrangements of the band which were very good. and it gets on my nerves that boy george always behave as if the success came only due to his voice and 'talent'
Does anyone notice on the set for the video...there is something funny about the area above the swinging doors that George keeps backing through. What is on top of the area above the doors is of a completely different scale than the doors. Somehow this all got pasted together in the final editing, I guess. Does anyone know?
Absolutely timeless, huge, EPIC. Boy George was sensational, to say the least. So underappreciated in his time. This sounds better to me in 2011 than it ever did in the 1980's. Some things simply get better with age. And even though the video is a little (LOT?) over the top, it's great to watch, nonetheless.
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
the victims single came with a poster folded into it..my brother bought it for me at christmas many moons ago....george was in his dreadlocks in black and white and i filled them in with colour...........
this is one of the favorites for me......i remeber when boy george sang in the san remo festival ........in 1984 or 85..idont remember..... the clothes are spectacular........
Still love this video and song. This is the time when I feel in love with Boy George and Culture Club. Still the memories are fresh in my head growing up with this amazing band. Thanks for sharing.
@willewinky Oh shit, I really know just what you mean. What is it about songs, they always seem to come along at the right ( or wrong ) time, It`s been 25 yrs and I still think of her......
@serberious We must be old romantics then, both thinking of lost loves. Lets not try too deeply of life or politics, only about the person standing next to you on a particular day. Then as strangers passing each other, we can smile and not think it odd. Music is always the key to the heart!
@TheIntruders Well, George *has* admitted that many of his songs were directly inspired by his relationship with Jon. That's what happens when you're a songwriter in love. And when your relationship is as turbulent as theirs was, some angst is bound to make it into the songs, even the joyful ones.
george reminds me of oscar wilde in this video. i wonder did he write this about wilde and bosie? if not it would be a very appropriate tune considering what happend to oscar
Does anybody know where I can get the piano scores for this song? I have hunted high and low but can't find them - only the piano tabs, but that is no good I'm afraid.
brings back such wonderful, magical memories - this, and Time were my favourite CC songs, including the vids of them, which I used to rent from a local shop. I feel they're such hearts-strings-touching, warm and authentic songs - u don't get this sort of warmth, this sort of spiritual touch, from songs these days I don't think, which gives me a sense of something lost, but on the other hand, my memories of these are still strong and this brings them back even more. Thanks for sharing.
Boy George has an excellent voice, even though there are people who underestimate him for having being a member of culture club. This is a sample of his talent
I will always always love this song...it reminds me of living in london.....i loved those days..i had to be one of culture clubs biggest fans..loved george and john....victims came out around xmas time.........george i will always love u..i went to kidbrooke high, not far from eltham green lol
this song has to be my fav culture club song...i had a 7 inch that came with a black and whiote poster that i coloured in....i was only 12.........i loved boy george and john moss..........god i loved them!!!!!!!!!
i remenber one year, 1985 , i was hearing this song in the san remo contest. i was in shock when i saw boy george for the first time.after that, i started to love this group and this beautiful song
@guestieboy agree. i watched a show on the bbc iplayer. i feel sorry for boy george. wish i was there in the 80s. he was weird and gay at young. i think he flipped it. because he had a bad past about his friend that died on drugs after he got fired that night for stealing money. and men and a famous singer cheating or leaving him.
wow Boy George has an awsome voice hes a lot better than a lot of todays singers i wish i had a time machine to go back to the 80s and get to know the band i missed the 80s wasen born
This song is fabulous. Played at the end of the recent Ashes to Ashes episode and the words say so much re the storyline. I've noticed that they do that a lot!
The show (A2A) is totally fantastic and I don't want it to end.
Go boy Georgie baby I luv ya!

This song is fabulous. Played at the end of the recent Ashes to Ashes episode and the words say so much re the storyline. I've noticed that they do that a lot!
The show (A2A) is totally fantastic and I don't want it to end.
