Thanks for asking. A heat gun is a very useful crafting tool. These can be found at craft stores. There are different brands. I own two different ones. I use mine mainly for embossing. But it can be used with other craft projects like shrink plastic. When the right amount of heat comes in contact the fabric like what I used it started to shrink and curl. That's why no two were exactly the same. I hope this answers helps.
Thanks for the question...I'm right handed so I held the machine top handle with my left hand and then I cranked the die through using my right hand. So although my arms were needed I actually used my right hand to do the cranking. I hope that answers your question.
I've added some of the tutorial links that I watched. Arlene shows in her video the Sizzix Circle #2 die and that is what I used. With the fabric she uses a heat gun would not be advisable to use like I used with my type of fabric. Other objects that can be used to make the circles if you do not have the die.
Thanks for the fabric question. In the description I mention I used polyester fabric. I can now see where that may be a bit vague. A medium weight ..used for bedding pillows draperies and the like. The actual sample fabric book is long gone...more than likely it was one Kravit 's sample fabric books used by a lot of interior designers. I hope this helps to answer your question.
As an assistant designer the place I work for has a library of these fabric books from various companies and when they are discontinued or dropped I can have the ones I want.
See if your local designers or design center have any that that would like to get rid of.
I've also known that some take these books and make quilts for the homeless. A nice "green" project.
Thank You, Lynn...Have fun making your flowers & I can't wait to see the flowers you make. Drop me a line (if you would like) when you make a video or if you have a blog and do a post!
Thanks so much for taking the time to look at this video...The ones shown in the video are mostly gone now...I had them on my blog 3 months ago with the prices there. I was selling them all dressed up with trims and feathers for $2.00 each plus shipping. I was making some new ones just last night with my friend Deb. They are all one of a kind due to the limited amount of fabric that is in the "dropped" fabric books.
Hello there ... I really like your flowers in this video. Have you made anymore for sale? Please let me know as am interested in buying. Thanks much!!!

I know..it is kind of funny...Before I tried it with this medium weight fabric... I had used the candle flame method.
Which is best for the lighter fabric and ribbon. Thanks for the visit and leaving a comment.
