When I first istalled Installous, it didn't come with AppSync & such. When I installed AppSync 4.0+ it deleted Installous and downloaded the other things I was missing (Source Gui, etc). Now that I installed Installous back on my ipod, it works like a charm!

So I guess my problem was really that AppSync didn't even install, not that I had the wrong version.

@jobeas1 upgrade to iOS 5 then use iOS 5 Jailbreak, after that install Hackulous and Installous 4, after that remove AppSync 5 and installous 4, then go to Cydia > Manage > Sources > Edit > and add this link: sinfuliphonerepo . com

from there install Installous and AppSync (has to be from SinFul iPhoneRepo) If u dont wanna do all that then just search on how to download "appcake" from Cydia

@LittleChinooo, It happens to me too. I know how to avoid it, just leave your iPod aside when dowloading something and it will not crash. Hope this helps.

I have ipod touch with 4.2.1 firmware. As it is said in video how to fix it, I do everything using instructions. Firstly, I remove AppSync from my Ipod and Installous app too. Then I install them again : first i install AppSync for 4.0+ (from Hackulo.us), then i install Installous 4. And after I done this, invalid ipa error appears AGAIN. What is wrong? :(

The most common problem: I had a jailbroken iphone 3gs at version 3.1.3 and i kept trying to download apps but it just kept saying invalid ipa. Later on i upgraded my iphone to version 5.0.1 and jailbroke it and tryed to install the same apps and it worked perfectly. It is because apple think there is only a jailbreak for 4.3.3 so they are making all apps not run unless it is higher and that is why you keep getting invalid IPA. Thumbs up so others can see this.
