pee bottle looks awesome. brand? i'm a long hunter not an ultralighter, but weight and pack space is very important to me. imagine every thing you use as a system plus a bow, a knife capable of dismemberment, scent control gadgets, and still needing space to haul meat. anyhoo, i've learned a lot from your channel. thanks
Here’s a great tip--I have eliminated the worry and fear about dehydration for the kids on my team with a very well developed iphone app called –iHydrate. Frankly an amazing app that anyone involved in sports should download-I am a parent and it saves me from fear and worry.
@magicbuskey If you camp in a tent or hammock, ... especially if it is cold or raining out ... you WILL want some sort of pee-bottle.
This allows you to just unzip your sleeping or bivy bag, and do your thing, and go right back to sleep. It can be a major hassle to be stubbing your toe, in the dark, in unfamiliar territory or to "give up" what little heat is in your sleeping bag. It is also a real drag to have to find your flashlight and put your boots on, etc. Rain, mud, noise, etc.
I made the switch alright, but the problem is, I'm a highschool student, and almost EVERY day, someone attempts to steal it because its unique. So I was kinda forced to switch to a 1000 ml narrow mouth Nalgene (Tritan copolyester, BPA free)
Dude, why go thru all that hassle and expense when an elastic hair band that the girlys use for pony-tails will do the same thing? Get the slightly thicker ones that don't have the small metallic connector. You can either place it underneathe the keeper that's attched to the cap, or loop it around (pass it thru itself around the neck and pull tight). All you have to do then is roll up the bag and stretch it into place. Even rubberbands work. KISS!
Well, that's a good idea to although it's not a hassle or an expense to do this method. Plus, you won't lose this elastic cord like you can with rubberbands since it's always attached to the bladder. But, to each their own.
Yes I agree, it's not really an expense or hassle. However, I have yet to lose one of the ones used for pony-tails becuse they work the same way yours do, but without the need to fabricate one. Your video's are well done. KISS!
Well, you're certainly better than I when it comes to keeping track of small items in camp! I would lose one of those hair things or a rubberband in about 2 hours! Maybe I'm just getting old! :)
Ha! Nah, I'm just a real stickler for keeping up with my gear. A lot of my gear looks like it's never even been used. By the way, don't think of yourself as old, just well seasoned! KISS (By the way I'm I real fan of the KISS philosophy. No ill intent, just a belief. Blessings!

Why do you need a pee bottle? I really don't understand why you need one of these in the woods. I'm new at backpacking. Thanks.
magicbuskey 1 year ago
reasons are endless, I always have carried one or some kind of can .
hunting ,fishing, camping
Its easier esp. in winter

So that you don't have to get out of your tent in the middle of the night.

@magicbuskey
Yup, it sucks getting out of your tent in the creepy woods at night to pee. I usually bring an empty plastic water bottle to use a pee bottle.

@Ekulytes I you think the woods are creepy, then why are you there in the first place.

You could also just use a rubber band. Might not last forever, but you probably have a rubber band laying around your house.

wow Jason! you just made my life easier.
question: does the band have to be red or white?
do I have to use my index finger to stretch the band? YOU ARE A GENIUS. I would've never thought of that. WHAT'S YOUR IQ?

I found a down and dirty cheep solution from a Major Hardware Retail Mall, that sells mostly useless chinese Tools.
In the Camping-department they have those aluminum color coated Beverage Container-bags.
Capacity is 5l which is about 1.32 Gallon. Price-tag about one and a half Euro each. If folded up I get about half the Package Size, that you show.
I purchased these as a backup Equipment rather drinking facility.

i'd say to use a rubberband to replace the cord. the reason is because the rubberband is waterproof, and I think it would grip the plastic better.
good idea though!
